If you're getting in late... they keep the front desk open late for late arrivals. $35/night I do believe... and for a last minute effort, that rules. There aren't any modern amenities other than a bitchin' AC & cable &, well, a bed! Ahhhh the creature comforts of living on the road.

The place is dated with some upgrades, but the history and nostalgic of it in my mind trumps any new hotel. Things to also keep in mind is this location is only an hour away from Goblin State Park and Arches national park. When I was making my reservation on Expedia, this won the bid between another place that was a few bucks cheaper by the mere fact that they SAID they included breakfast, and you typically have to ask for the shampoo at the other place (which I almost always forget to ask since I've come to expect those things to be in or near the shower). However, I check in and get into the room... Never mind the fact that it's a bit old, but I hear the sound of water running; the flush lever came loose. I inform the front desk about it and she offers to switch rooms, but it'd have to be on the 2nd floor. Since I have to recharge my equipment (and some of it was kinda heavy), I told her that I'll just hand-tighten the lever myself and advised her to have Maintenance wrench it into place the next morning. Remember how breakfast was a deciding factor? According to them, they stopped offering breakfast the week prior, and apparently they tried to tell Expedia but they haven't made the adjustment yet. Also worth noting: They said that they had to shut off the water at 8 AM, but they didn't verbally remind anybody or hand me one of the many flyers they've made; I only found out when I was having to tell them about the toilet and saw it taped to one of the doors in the lobby.

They rent monthly, and if you know anything about the types of people who rent monthly at a motel, you know what I'm saying. 2. There is a main building and 3 'back buildings'. The back buildings are the least desirable. They have been pseudo updated - new floors but they are sticky and gross. 3. Non-smoking rooms smell like smoke. 4. The sheets and pillows are probably dirty. I found numerous long hairs on pillows and a couple with dark stains - and they were NOT small. 5. The front desk staff was nice but do not let this fool you - the rooms are sad and the pictures you probably saw online will not represent your future room. 6. My wife and I arrived after dark and were paranoid all night that our car may get vandalized or broken into. We brought as much inside from our car as we could. Recommendation: Stay anywhere else for the extra $10-$20 they charge. There are plenty of other nearby hotels.
