When I think about Robbers Roost... I get the travel bug itch... and, thankfully not any other kind of bug itch. Upon first glance you may think this place ain't much... sure, it's really not... but say you're making your way into Moab or Bryce & you opted not to camp & you don't want to pay the obscene prices of the really close lodges, et al -- welp, this is your spot. Located in Green River... you'll be a nice morning drive from Moab. If you're getting in late... they keep the front desk open late for late arrivals. $35/night I do believe... and for a last minute effort, that rules. There aren't any modern amenities other than a bitchin' AC & cable &, well, a bed! Ahhhh the creature comforts of living on the road. read more

I am giving the Robbers Roost five stars relative to other hotels in its class - i.e., ones that cost $60/night. My room (room 11) was dated and a bit slanted, but very clean and comfortable. It was convenient to have a fridge and microwave and to be able to park right in front of the room. There really isn't much else to say, as clean and convenient is all one can really expect for the price. And for that the Robbers Roost gets top marks. read more

You get what you pay for here at this place. Super nice employee checked me in. The price was only $55 total and it reflects that. If you have vertigo, this is not the place for you. Upon entering the room, we started out downhill, and walked uphill within a few steps. The floor leans a lot. It was very hot, and took awhile to cool off once I turned on the window unit. There was an old musty smell in the room but the hotel was built in the 1940s. It was clean, had a small refrigerator, but the room was very small. The bathroom was hot as it took longer for the air to get in there. The bathroom was updated but super tiny. The hotel door had a big gap in it. For a short overnight stay it was ok. read more

You get exactly what you pay for- and it is cheap. This is not a place that you want to spend a week at, but for an overnight stop on a road trip it works just fine. Clean, but dated. It has a TV in the room, with a good sized bed. The room is fairly large. Frankly there is no reason Green River needs a new motel/hotel. There just is not enough of a call for one. We have stayed at this motel for the last 4 years when we make our annual drive from Nevada to Nebraska every August. It's an old motel so the decor is a bit dated and each room is a bit different. It's definitely not the Hilton, but the desk staff are friendly, the rates are cheap and the rooms are clean (well cleaned & NO bugs) and cozy. The motel also offers free WiFi. The rooms are quiet, I've never heard noise from adjoining rooms even when the place is packed. All the rooms we have stayed in have a flat screen TV with cable, a microwave and a mini-fridge. And the AC units are top-notch-they cool the room super fast when it's hot out. Some of the rooms can be a bit sparse on outlets, but we travel with a power strip in case of these instances. There are no fancy free toiletries, but who doesn't travel with their own? Usually just a bar soap and a shampoo is provided. The motel is also within walking distance of a decent Mexican place (says cafe on the outside) and Rays Tavern that serves burgers, steaks, beer and homemade apple pie with ice cream. Or if you're pulling into town late and hungry, try the WestWind truck stop at the Sinclair down the road. They have a 24/hour restaurant, which is convenient since everything else in town closes by 9PM. read more

This place is old school. Not Ritz Carlton old school ... more like Route 66 from the glory days down to its neon sign. We called from the road 1 hour away and got the last room. Same low price as advertised (approx. $47) instead of the usual late night ploy of jacking the rate up on late night travelers. Clean room, queen sized beds, small fridge, microwave, clean bathroom and AC. What more can anyone ask for? Good service? Ours was wonderful. Visit their website to arrange your reservation, it allows you to see what the available rooms look like and the price. One little fluke, we weren't able to use it after 10pm. Check out is early (10:30am) but that works well with Arches and Canyonlands National Parks are only an hour away. For a quick stay, this place fits the bill. We had to stop to get some rest on the way home from San Diego to Colorado so we stopped in Green River Utah! We checked a few hotels/motels for prices and this place was the cheapest! Now it doesn't look promising from the outside. But don't be fooled! We asked to see the room before we book and the front desk guy was gracious enough to let us do that with no attitude at all! He was super friendly! We got into the room and OMG! It was super clean!!! There is free wifi, a fridge and a microwave! Flat screen tv on the wall! Everything works! Did I mention super clean! Super cheap! The bathroom also very clean, rooms smells great ! Bed is very comfy also and fluffy pillows! I will always stay here from now on when I need a break on my road trips! This is a great place with nice people. Nice flat screen TV. Some people say the place is showing it's age...architecturally, that is true. However, it is clean and well maintained. Along with the age comes solid construction so you can't hear your neighbors. I'll take that anytime. The prices are great, the people are nice, the Motel is well maintained. It was also nice to see that the same couple still owns this as the last time I stayed. Keith was very helpful in recommending hikes in the area. I was totally stoked after taking his advice! A family owned and run funky little old style motel. The prices are very reasonable, and the right price for the room style. They are pet friendly, and the rate for pets is also very reasonable. The website reservation system is extremely functional. It is much better than many fancier places offer. You can see exactly which room you are reserving and it details whether or not it is a room pets are allowed in, which makes it nice for people traveling with pets, and travelers with allergies. The wireless works. It is no frills, and at their prices, you shouldn't be expecting any. Check out is unpleasantly early for us late night driving, not early rising travelers, which is the only thing that would make me look at other options when next in the area, but I'd be willing to stay there again. They also do close check-in, which is detailed out on their website, so if you are a late night road tripper, pay attention. read more

This place is so rad. Old, clean, family owned period correct motor-inn. Super friendly service. They have recycling and are in walking distance to a good tavern and grocery store. Try to get a room with old, original tongue and groove wood paneling. We love old, cool hotels and this one is definitely that and is one of the best run places we have ever stayed. read more

We stayed in Green River last night so the last slog from Santa Fe to SLC would be put off a day. Nice folks run the place now and seem to be doing a wonderful of renovating a motel that has been there for years. Not fancy (ie. regular not posh towels) but very comfortable and clean. Absolutely everything in our room (17) , except the pine wainscoting was brand new: newly plastered walls with new paint, new and convenient electrical fittings, new flat screen TV, new plumbing, carpet, tile floors, windows, and AC/heating unit indicate that the owners of this motel are serious about competing with the chains. As Wine Spectator would say about 90 rated wine under $15.00 "great value". Plus the parking lot was full of other vehicles like ours that with fun gear (bikes, boats). Pretty sure the clientele is the Ray's crowd. Our new fav in Green River. read more

Uhhh, yea. So, I stayed here cause everyone gave it high stars. The positives are that it is way cheap, people are pretty quiet and um that's about it. I stayed in a pet friendly room cause I had my dog with me and I didn't sleep all night. Things were crawling on my legs and I can only hope it was fleas and not bed bugs. I still have bites! The ceiling of the room looked like it was going to cave in and the bathroom was ..well, let's just say it was clean but it was way dated and the shower was not where I wanted to be LOL!. I also got attacked by bugs walking outside both in the evening and the morning (mosquitos to be exact but that isn't the motel's fault). Walking distance to the WORST mexican restaurant I have ever been. Do what I did (on my return trip) and pay the extra money and stay on the East side of town at the HIE. Robbers Roost pretty much sums up the term "no frills". For $50.00 you get what you pay for. The closet consists of 2 hooks hanging from a corner. The bathroom is small but adequate. There was a bar of soap but no complimentary shampoo or conditioner. The bed was extremely hard & I can say I didn't sleep too well. Now for the good points: The lady who checked us in was extremely pleasant & helpful. The hotel sits next to a restaurant named Rays which is the only place in town that serves beer. They have a nice flat screen TV. However, be advised that the heating/cooling unit for the room consists of an in wall unit. From my position on the bed I can see a gap between the entrance door & it's frame. Can't be good in the winter. I would only stay here as a last resort if there were no other rooms available anywhere else in town. Or if I was being chased by Bigfoot. read more

Owner's children take care of rooms. I am old enough to remember the 50's and it is like that. If I were to have left my wallet, believe they would call me to tell me. Just what the other Yelpers have said...this is a clean, comfortable, funky hotel. I expect to open my door and see Lucy and Ricky parked outside. Room is small and plain, but clean. Small fridge and microwave,small TV, comfortable bed, spotless bathroom. No phone, no hair dryer, no ice bucket, and that's fine. Very helpfulp folks at checkin, and they have dog-friendly rooms for an additional $6.00. My only complaint is that the walls are paper thin, so be quiet in whatever you do :) i'll stay here again. read more

This is a way rad spot and a pretty good deal at about $50/night (I can't remember the exact cost). The large neon sign out front is a national treasure, and the inside of our room featured a framed newspaper clip celebrating a lady robber from long ago. This place isn't fancy (the floor wasn't quite level), but it was super clean and cozy and had everything we needed, including a comfy, not-too-soft bed. There's also a bar down the road called The Oasis--didn't make it there this time, but we'll check it out next time we stay at Robbers Roost! read more

Cheap and pretty clean... It's throw back 60s in both rooms I've seen. The comforters had stains but other than that it was alright. Maybe a few hairs here and there... Mini fridge, tv, and microwave were in our room. I did wish they had some tissues in the room. read more

What a delightful surprise. I don't ask for much in a real cheap old 1940s strip motel. Clean is number one, and being able to sleep on a semi comfortable mattress. That is it. So sleeping on a bed that was every bit as comfortable if not more so than my bed for the next four nights at the Las Vegas Rio was a great surprise. A tempurpedic topper was what made the bed work best, but pillows that were far better than expected also helped. Large and comfortable bath towels were truly appreciated. I also could not get over how nice the carpet was. I have no illusion that the carpet was new, but I was really impressed how well it had been maintained. So on the way back from Vegas I stayed in Green River again, but Robbers Roost was sold out. I stayed at the local Motel 6. What a contrast! I am going back to work now, but I am going to rant on that fiasco on Yelp in a couple of days. read more

Ok, the price was right, but the rest was, well, meh. The room was small and a bit "worn", no table to sit at, but it was clean. It did have a microwave and mini fridge. The things I didn't like: No outside light by our room, just needed a bulb I think but I noticed that most of them were out. You had to step down into the room, then back up into the bathroom. The bathroom door wouldn't close. And as I said, the room was "worn", meaning it needed some upkeep and fixing. The woman at the front desk was friendly enough and brought us a new lightbulb for the bathroom. But the room just wasn't great, it was about half of what they charge in Moab though. read more

Super inexpensive and clean room. I'd give it five stars easily but the floor in our room was dramatically slanted - to the point that it felt like a funhouse when standing on one side of the bed. That was a fairly minor issue for me, but I had my husband stay on that side of the room. It would have freaked me out to get up during the night on such an uneven floor. With that aside, everything else was ideal for us. Comfortable mattress and brand new EVERYTHING in the bathroom from the tub to toilet, even flooring to pedestal sink and window ledge. All spotless. Amusing to see the 1980's style wallpaper with a good sized flat screen TV mounted on the wall. Nice newer mini fridge and plenty of space for two people in the room with one queen bed. Fast easily connecting Wi Fi. Air conditioning was quiet and worked well. Great parking and very friendly check in. It is close to the main roads and just down the street from a lot of restaurants. We would stay again in a heartbeat. read more
