Kane Solitude is one of my favorite beers, seriously one of the best beers out there. Since that beer struck me so well I was super excited when I was in the area of Kane Brewing Co. so I could visit the brewery. We were met in the front lobby by an employee telling us we couldn't bring our food inside, it's their "policy" there, something about cross contamination - what?! I've visited tons of breweries in NJ and beyond and I've never heard of such a thing. So that was my first disappointment and I figure let's go have a beer to experience it and move on. The warehouse setting for the tasting room was FREEZING. The bartenders were wearing winter hats. I tried the Malus, which is a Belgian dark strong ale, (my favorite type of beer), it didn't hold a candle to their Solitude. They also have a bourbon barrel aged Malus which definitely had a nice bourbon kick. Since we weren't about to settle in drinking high abv beers without food, and were uncomfortable with the climate, our trip was pretty short and disappointing. I'm happy I visited because I can check it off my list, but I don't really care to return. If I ever see Solitude on a shelf or tap somewhere I'll still be a huge fan and purchase, but I'll pass on the brewery as a hot spot. read more

Great beer. Will not discount that. However, we were expected to keep track of time and the 90 min reservation. We were served a 750 ml bottle, served out our pours, then told we were past our reservations. A second person made a problem of being past our reservation as we were trying to finish. It is not the customers job to keep track of time. There were also NUMEROUS open tables. Very disappointing. read more

Kane Brewing has an interesting mix of hipsters and old men throughout the tasting room. The staff is always very friendly while making sure you get what you came for, some good beer. Their actual lineup has me split, but as many will tell you Morning Bell is that great. I was lucky to try their Mexican Brunch this visit which I knew needed to be taken home in a growler. Single Fin and Overhead are also excellent year round beers. The rest are not very memorable to me. I will be coming back here many times to come since it's just a great place to hang out and grab one of my aforementioned favorites. read more

This place is AMAZING! They offer free tours, have wonderful, super friendly staff, and their beers are so tasty! Our tour guide, Kevin, was great and very knowledgeable. Along with Carton, the best brewery in NJ by a country mile. No-frills tasting room and attached smaller room for additional growler fills and merch is enough room to get in and out quickly with a growler fill(s) of your choice. Picnic tables to sit at and barrels to rest your beers on make it easy to stay a bit. Head High and Overhead are world class IPAs. citrusy fresh hops abound. Morning Bell is definitely my favorite coffee-driven stout/porter. its maple syrup/cinnamon sister, Sunday Brunch, is what dreams are made of. their other beers range from decent to fn fantastic. read more

Visited Kane with a bunch of friends on Saturday afternoon...what a pleasant surprise! I had never heard of Kane Brewing Company before, but my friends were super excited to visit so I went along for the ride. I'm so glad I did! I'm not a huge craft beer lover so the $6 flight was a perfect way for me to sample what they had before buying a whole glass. We were able to get a picnic table inside the brewery and enjoyed sampling all the options. It was a nice day so the doors were open to the outside and there were a lot of people taking tours and enjoying the day. The staff was super friendly and helpful. The one downfall is the fact that there is only one bathroom! I had to wait on line a couple of times...lots of beer drinking and one bathroom just don't match, but I will definitely go back again and would recommend this place to anyone, even if they are not a huge beer drinker. read more

Hidden gem! We stopped here on a Saturday afternoon and it was awesome. Looks nothing like a brewery from the outside, but once you go in the place is awesome. They have beer flights with lots of beers to try (and a decent amount of lighter options if you're like me and not super into IPAs). There's a lot of picnic tables, barrels for seating/standing with your drinks so you don't have to be cramped. We filled up some growlers and got some cans to go while we were there also. A must try if you are in the area. Some of the tastiest beer in New Jersey. Their signature head high and overhead IPAs are amazing. They are always coming out with new beers and limited releases. The brewery is very cool, the tasting room is inside of the brewery area so it makes for some cool decor. No food allowed, but beer is basically a food group so its ok. read more

This is the best brewery in town. I routinely drive 8 hours from NC and dont consider myself home until I get to Kane. I love their beer.

First off, you should want to come here just because the owner's name is Michael Kane (it may be spelled differently but still!) Seriously, this place is great. We came here last weekend on our brewery tour day (which also included Carton) and this place seriously rocks. Michael happened to be brewing that day and answered all of our questions even though he was in the middle of doing 10 things at once. The tour was self-guided but you are given a handout that explains the entire brewing process that Kane uses. After the tour, you get to taste each of their 3 beers on tap, which were Cloud Cover, Single Fin, and Head High. I was a big fan of the Single Fin (I think it was a Belgian Blonde?) You can also take home up to 2 growlers worth of beer here. Go to Kane and seriously talk to Michael. His story of how he opened his brewery is very interesting. That is all! read more

They have a number of delicious beers to taste and getting the flight of little tasters makes it easy to sample 4 different beers of your choice. The prices of the flight vary and depend on which beers you choose for your flight. You can also get a full pour to sip and hang out or growlers and cans to go if you choose. They have a few tables to sit at and more than enough barrels to stand at and sip your beer while hanging out in the warehouse. I do agree that it is difficult to find but just follow your GPS and it'll get you to the right place. The search is definitely worth it for some tasty beers and nice atmosphere. read more

Great drinks with an amazing vibe. It the warehouse where the beer is made they hold tastings for every beer they have in the works. A flight of four 4 OZ beers can be had for $6. my personal favorite was a coffee beer with added cinnamon. Other notables are a peach beer and a classic wit beer. I am not one for hops so 5 of the 15 beers they had on the tasting menu were out of bounds. If a beer strikes your fancy a liter is $10 and 2 liters is $12. I have been to most of the breweries in the area and while they all have their merits, Kane is definitely an oldie but goodie. They have something for every one! Their cloud cover is one of my favorites if you're looking for a milder flavor and the head high is an extremely flavorful IPA - hoppy, but not overwhelmingly so. read more

I'm from Arizona visiting family during the holiday. I asked around for a good, local micro beer and this was mentioned by many. Loved it! IPA =amazing, the fall saint was superb, it had hints of nutmeg, squash and maybe cinnamon. Staff was more than helpful and seemed excited to educate us on each beer. Next time I'm in the area, I'll be back. Hopefully kegs will be next! read more

I'm a big fan of craft brewers and what they've been doing for the beer 'world' for a while now and I make it my point to check as many of them out as I can so I was excited to find out that this one is not far at all from my brother's new condo. We stopped in on a Saturday afternoon for some tasting and to explore their options. As others have said the building is hidden in an industrial plaza in what does appear to be an office building which made us wonder at first if we had the right place (especially since there is only a small sign) until we saw the number of people entering the building. You enter first into a small bar room with a few taps where you can have a more intimate introduction to the brewery, their mission and what beers they have. This bar has most of the beers they offer on tap, but not all. There is also a larger bar through the next door out on the brewery floor which has the full gamut of beers. Their IPA's are some of the better ones I've tasted from the area's craft brewers. They have a range of different style beers covering many of the traditional styles meaning there's something for everyone. They offer a 4 oz 4-beer sampling flight (unlike most brewers there is a cost for this...although its only $4) and the other drawback is that its only 4 beers despite there being more beers available. Depending on the beer you can also buy 8 oz or 12 oz pours to drink on the premise or you can get growler re-fills to go. All in all its a great spot, very clean and has a great group of people running it. Hopefully in the near future they'll have a better selection of options to purchase to go like many of the other craft brewers (such as six packs to buy onsite). read more

We stopped by for a brewery tour on Saturday and were able to sample the 4 beers on tap (they actually kicked their Belgian beer while we were there). All of the beers were delicious - a lot more flavorful than you would expect from a brewery that's been around for less than a year. These guys really seem to know what they're doing and have a definite passion for beer. They're not bottling yet but you can get growlers of the beer at the brewery, or at some other local stores. This is definitely a brewery to keep your eye on. read more

Okay, in terms of actual beer, this is my favorite brewery in New Jersey. If you can get your hands on it, A Night to End All Dawns (bourbon barrel aged Imperial Stout) is well worth the price tag. The brewery itself is fine, though I can't say I dig the industrial park location. The entrance looks like a doctor's office waiting room, which is weird. They do a nice job of basically side stepping the NJ brewery tour requirement (the law requires an "educational" component for breweries prior to serving beer) by having you drink amongst the fermenters. A flight of four 4-oz pours will set you back $6 (they will give you a little business card for you to fill out with your choices) and full pours (8-12 oz.) will set you back about the same. Definitely worth a visit, though you will want to get here early as it gets crowded and seating goes fast. read more

Finally made it here after many months of trying to figure out a good day to visit. Cool tasting area. No frills. Place got pretty busy by 3pm on Saturday. I am glad we got there a little after 1pm. Kane consistently puts out some of the best beers in NJ. I was disappointed there were no bottles available for purchase and the Coffee Drift Line and DDH Head High were not available to take home, but we did take home a few other growlers. A great visit. Had a big selection. But out of the 16 different choices I personally only liked two. Unfortunately the one I liked most was not available to go. So I opted for number two and they would not fill my growler because it was too big. I have a 128 oz growler that I have never had a problem filling I've been to a few dozen breweries but I could buy two 4 packs of there beer which is 128oz. Wtf the gentlemen at the counter said I know it's the managers rule I'll bring it up at the next staff meeting. I'll just pick another brewery next time. There a dime a dozen these days read more

I am a huge fan of their beer, however I mostly stick to the Overhead IPA. The best part about this place is how large this place is even when it gets super crowded (which is does on the weekends). I also love when its warm out and they open up the garage doors. read more

Super crowded and the beer is ok. I really liked it on tap before so I was a bit disappointed. They have a big space but no food. It's a huge building and tons of space but you can't bring food in and I didn't see any food for sale. I would order the beer again but wouldn't go back to the brewery. read more

Ok, first off...I was interested to see what Kane had to offer after hearing about them from all my friends I've left in NJ 12 years ago. I've been living in Asheville, NC for 8 years and we were pretty early into the craft scene. Kane lived up to its reputation, the IPA was quite good; the Apple Brandy barrel aged Maltus was just plain awesome!!! I picked up some bottles, looking forward to some trading. The best brewery in the state and one of the best in the country. Not that well known outside of the area because they can/bottle so little (hoping for more in the future). They make world class IPAs and stouts. Their Belgian inspired offerings are also usually really good. Not the most picturesque location, but it's certainly got a Jersey-ness to it. Once your inside, I think the space really works well, though I think the retail flow could be improved as they divide growler fillers from can/bottle buyers/tasters. Of course everyone wishes the limited release process wasn't such a crap show, but I'm not sure there's much that can be done when you're so popular. read more

Lots of things keep me coming back to Kane. I love the atmosphere, drinking in the brewery surrounded by stacked oak barrels and active fermenters. The people who work there are very friendly and helpful. And most importantly, the beer is fantastic - both the quality and the variety. Literally every craft brewery has an IPA or 12 right now, so I like a brewery that has a good selection beyond that. Kane has some great stouts, Belgian blonde and dark ales, a great American brown ale, and plenty of barrel-aged options. I usually have a tough time deciding what to get. They recently added some fermenters to increase brewing capacity, and I'm not surprised. Their special events only get more and more crowded, so they're obviously doing something very right. My only wish is that they bottled more of their beer so I didn't have to drive as far to get it. read more

I went on a Friday and the place was packed. There was a line in the back room for beer, but the line went fast. There wasn't anything too rare on tap, but the beer there is all great anyway.
