Yesterday was my first time dining in at Kamura Sushi. I have done take out many times especially during the pandemic here and the food was always excellent. Dining in was a great experience because we get to eat it fresh after it was prepared. We were seated immediately when we arrived by the window. It took awhile for the server to come over to take our order because she was soo busy! You have to admire the way the husband and wife team works! The hubby is preparing sushi while the wife runs everything else. So be patient because you can see how hard they work! The menu is extensive with appetizers, lunch specials, dinner specials, tons of sushi both raw and cooked, udon, ramen, etc. It's got everything you can think of if you're craving Japanese food! We ordered the spicy miso ramen and the Chicken Teriyaki dinner (comes with side salad, rice, miso soup), Spider Rolls (to go), Avocado Cucumber Rolls (to go). The food is delicious! My hubby kept raving this is the BEST Chicken Teriyaki he has ever had. Compared to other places, there is no chicken skin here! This is good, thinly sliced chicken breast grilled to perfection drizzled in sauce! The restaurant is by no means fancy. It is set in a corner in the middle of a residential area. It's a no frills kind of place but you come here for the food! Restaurant is clean, bright, and service was great despite how busy they were for Friday night dinner service (tons of take outs, phone calls, etc). They even gave us lollipops with our check. We will definitely be back more often!

We came here on a Friday night around 6pm. There was a few seated tables and no wait for our family of five. This appears to be a husband and wife shop and probably could use one additional pair of hands. Husband was behind the sushi bar making the rolls and such while the wife takes orders, bus tables, answer phones and serve the food. Have some patience as they can get backed up when it gets busy. The food was good, typical sushi fair. Fish was fresh and presentation was beautiful.

1 star for the service and broth was ok, the worst ramen I've ever had, it would have been better if I had top ramen at home! Over cooked noodles, eggs hard boiled and cold, 3 little pieces of thin pork! I was so disappointed, never again! I wanted to like them but it was just not good. So sad!

I've been here about 5 times and each time I've enjoyed myself. The fish is fresh and quality, at an accessible price point. (~$16/roll) The menu is huge, with diverse options ranging from cold rolls, baked rolls, deep fried rolls, sashimi, donburi (rice bowls), udon, & ramen. They serve beer wine saké and soju. They have a lunch special under $20 for bento box combos M-F 11:30am-2:00pm. It is on the corner of a block in the Sebastopol Business District. It's a bit off the beaten path but I don't mind. Makes it feel like a hidden gem There is plenty of free street parking. The ambiance is quiet & casual, the place is clean. The owners/workers are very welcoming and friendly. Their hours vary so make sure to check before you go. Pictured: Tonkotsu Ramen & the Kamura Roll

I came here thinking i had reservations at 8pm. They said they didnt seat anyome after 8pm. Instead of dismissing me they looked at incoming calls from the night before when i made the call. They proved that it wasnt them that i called and they did so gracefully and professionally. They made my vegetarian sushi quickly and sent me off with a smile and a very kind greeting; the woman came around the counter to hand me the food and the chef whom i suspect is the owner gave me a kind smile. He seemed like such a good person that i would return to his restaurant any day. The restaurant is small in a residential area but just enough for some sushi!

Very impressed! South west Santa Rosa is not always the best place to look for Sushi. And the location is odd for sure. But the reviews were good and so close, so worth a shot. We ordered the Sashimi dinner, Which for the cost was generous. The fish was delicious and clearly fresh. We also got the 49er roll, which was wonderful. The miso soup was really interesting, it was really dark, rich and different then most I have had. We will definitely be back!

One of the best sushi spots I've been to! Try the Salmon Collar for a yummy appetizer -- we love the ambiance and the owners are extremely nice and hospitable! Definitely a hidden gem!

The kappa roll and California! Great presentation super fresh!

I've tried different places in Santa Rosa, and this place is my favorite. I order the dragon roll every time. Can't wait to go back.

And my taste are different differently different than others. There was something off about the kimchi... It just didn't taste like what I'm used to, but I mean that could be a restaurant thing. I was also thrown off by the macaroni salad. It also had no flavor. I really enjoyed the bean sprouts and wanted to get another serving but was told it was a sample serving and that they don't do more than that. I could pay two dollars m Overall, I think my biggest issue was that a lot of the food was much sweeter than I expected. I was especially surprised by the grilled shrimp because I never imagined it would taste that sweet. I'm not going to lie, I still ate everything because I paid for it and didn't want to waste the food. The highlight of the meal was the Love Boat sushi roll that they light on fire. Visually, it was really impressive and made for a fun presentation. Taste wise, though, it was just an average sushi roll. I couldn't tell that the fire added anything to the flavor. I didn't notice any smokiness or anything that elevated the dish, and I honestly think it would have tasted the same without the fire. For what I paid, I don't think the meal was worth it, so I probably wouldn't come back just for myself. That said, I can see why other people might enjoy it. I did really like the jalapeño on the sushi roll because it added a nice kick, so I would order that again. This is also one of the few times I've had Thai iced tea that was simply too sweet for my taste.

There was a party of 10 that arrived 15 minutes after we were seated. Their appetizers and sushi arrived immediately, approximately 10 minutes before ours. I was quite baffled... I even made the joke... "Did they go to Japan to make our roll & nigiri?" Overall, I would probably not return. The waiters were nice but the sushi chef's were very slow. Maybe because they weren't Japanese and were baffled by nigiri's? Whatever the reason, nigiri's should not take over 30 minutes to serve, especially when there are only 3 tables. Time is priceless... And when it's spent over 30 minutes waiting for a meal, it's time wasted...
