Ambiance is great and the girl at the counter is very nice. Our coffee came out quickly, and was good, however we waited almost an hour for food (eggs and pancakes) even though it wasn't busy inside at all. When it came out the eggs were so overcooked they were practically inedible, and had hair on it. The pancakes were pretty good though. The only good thing about this place is the decor. The service was awful. It took 50 minutes to get two omelettes and a breakfast wrap. When the wrap came it was missing half the ingredients and when I asked where the rest was the made me read to ingredients off the menu to see what they missed. Like shouldn't you know what's on the ONLY wrap at this cafe. The man with the butterfly tattoo on his neck was rude and didn't want to help us at all. Juice is a definite 4 stars, but 3 stars for the service and average quality of food. I had the French toast sandwich without the ham and plus the egg. It was cold when I got my meal, I don't know exactly why we were waiting so long for the food, but we waited a while. The other order was just an omelet (which was supposed to be scrambled eggs), and the potatoes on this order were also cold. There was also supposed to be some homemade jam alongside this dish, and when we asked about it, they said they were out. Small and lovely - palimpsestic walls with images from yesteryear and yesterday. The tables are made from old sewing machine desks, still having the large ornate metal pedals on the floor. The front counter has a hint of old timey'ness to it, too. Wood detailing and walls covered with colorful paint or scrawled words (maybe of poetry, preferably the last words of a madman). They've got beer, they've got food, they've got coffee and they have smoothies. All except the latter I haven't tried yet - but the Acai smoothie went down cool and easy for a mid-afternoon saving grace before we Hulked out from low blood sugar. Jary was super friendly and helpful and she served us the best cup of coffee we've had so far after 4 days in San Juan. We didnt have time for breakfast but we took one look at the menu and immediately decided we would be back the next morning. True to our word and stomachs, we had the most peaceful relaxed delicious and reasonably priced breakfast - heck, meal! - of our trip thus far. Shamil our server was honestly the best service I've had here in PR, always super attentive .The little boutique was closed upstairs but he told me that there was no problem if I wanted to go up -he would give me a tour ! I ended up getting my mother a stone bracelet . I got a chicken , mozzarella pesto wrap with a side salad . The "Salmon Burger" is actually a dry salmon sandwich. Do not expect to get an actual burger with a bun and a patty. You can count the fries.. we got 8 small fries. Kamoli Salad was more like a side salad as a main course. Very grotesque cuts and unpleasant to eat. Greens straight out of a bag, huge inedible onion pieces, thick cut carrots and cucumbers. Perfect to dip in a hummus or a dip. Cilantro dressing tasted like mayo with cilantro. It was good for the fries, not for the salad. Not creative and tasteful at all! The place is more decor and location. Taste like food made to make money, not food made with effort. Please do not waste your hunger and money here. The food looks great, tastes great, until that food poisoning kicks in and leaves you bed ridden with diarrhea and projectile vomit for 3 out of your 4 day vacation in Puerto Rico. We ate here for breakfast our first morning in Puerto Rico during our 4 day stay and I got the WORST food poisoning I've ever had, and lost the next three days of my vacation 'weathering the storm' of diarrhea and vomiting - not enjoying my vacation! It was the omelet with turkey and peppers. Everything else from the moment we left home until I got sick we shared, except that omelet and my coffee which I had all by myself, and I was the only one who got sick. Was it cold when it should have been hot? yes. Was it slow to be brought out so it was sitting around for a while? yes. Did it have meat and/or dairy? yes yes (turkey, cheese, and eggs - all were cold) Were there bugs and lizards crawling and flying all around in the completely open restaurant and they could have gotten into the food? probably - saw some lizards and insects on our table before we got there. Was the sugar jar I was served used for coffee a communal jar that other people probably stuck their spoons into so it was also probably contaminated also? yes, and nasty, lesson learned. Would I go back? NEVER! Service was very friendly and very slow. It's a kitschy-cool rustic place that gives you the feeling you landed on a sweet spot that nobody else knows about. They use pages torn out of fashion magazines as place mats and other quirky things that could be neat to venture into. The boutique is expensive upstairs, but does have some cool stuff if you're into that look. We left saying we'd come back for breakfast the next day, and every day while we were here... Until that food poisoning kicked in a few hours later. I feel robbed. I feel like my vacation was stolen from me. I couldn't do anything except lay in bed and try to sleep and drink water while cancelling most of the things I had planned to do and see and eat. Risk at your own risk. It took 95 minutes to get 2 omelettes?!?!?!? They kept apologizing and said it would be out in 5 minutes and it just kept taking longer and longer. Been here plenty of times. The last time I was here I sat at the bar and I had to kill a baby roach (yikes). Anyways, I still love their food even though I know roaches are in every restaurant (come on it's PR roaches are everywhere and I think NYC is still worse). My favorite thing is the flour-less chocolate cake. Each time they serve it I get something different though. Sometimes they give me whipped cream, sometimes they add chocolate, strawberries or blueberries. I've tried several different items on their menu (all satisfactory) and brought my friends here. Everyone likes this place. It's a little on the pricey side though ($9 for a juice or smoothie is expensive). I totally dig the vibe here and the staff are very nice. The only thing I don't like is that it's open-air dining, so there have been times where I've been TORN UP BY MOSQUITOES. For the people who complain about service/turnaround time, you have to remember that this is PUERTO RICO. Puerto Ricans take their time doing everything because they're lazy/slow and they live on an island so they operate on ISLAND TIME. Went on a Sunday and ordered the "Coconut Curry Organic Chicken or Tofu Wrap", ordered it with chicken. After 30min of waiting we got a tofu one, tried eating it but couldn't, told the waiter and he told me "he'd check" but never got to me. Later on reminded him and the only thing he did was offer me a free mimosa, we weren't even drinking, so we declined. Later on the manager passed by and asked if we wanted what was left to go and told her here about what had happen, at any moment did she intend to "make it better" or anything. This place has very eclectic decor and it goes well with the fact that it's both a cafe and a boutique for local artisans. Unfortunately we visited in the evening and didn't get a chance to see the boutique which is upstairs. I did find the juice bar options to be amazing. I had a ginger honey lemon shot and I still want to be able to recreate it at home because it definitely seems like an excellent way to battle colds and minor illnesses. My partner also had a juice, Stay Fresh, I think it was called. The service was friendly, however, at times a bit slow (despite it not being that busy in terms of customers). If this was just about the juice, I might even give this place 5 stars, however, I found the service to be okay and the food to be average. I ordered a chicken quesadilla, I think it was called Secret Spot. It was pretty boring and hard to eat as it didn't have a sauce to it. My partner had the Sal Si Puedes baguette. I mean the food could be considered healthy, but not really something that appeals to either of our palates. If we ever visited again, I would definitely come back for the juice and the chance to check out the boutique. read more

This place is a great treat if you're trying to eat a Western breakfast with a little twist. They serve the usual omelettes, pancakes, and French toast, but their menu items attempt at being much healthier than their Western counterparts. My girlfriend ordered an omelette that came with spinach and a little cheese. We were impressed that it wasn't covered in grease like most breakfasts we eat at home. I ordered bacon pancakes, which were incredibly filling and super tasty with the combination of bacon and maple syrup. The lattes are awesome. They give you a massive jar of either pure cane sugar or brown sugar (I can't remember) which you can use at your disposal. The environment is super eclectic. They have a sort of Buddhist vibe inside, with lots of Buddhist figures and decor. They use old sewing machine stands as tables, which adds a fun touch. Check out the boutique upstairs. They have lots of great clothing items for very fair prices. I bought a nice semi-dressy collared shirt for 10 bucks and bought my girlfriend some earrings for 10 bucks. As with a lot of places in PR, the staff is super friendly and they speak English incredibly well.
