I went back and forth as to whether or not I should give a review of Kamna's Threading as I found her to be a polite and nice person, however when it comes to the services that she offers, I was extremely dissatisfied and therefore can not recommend her to others. I visited Kamna's home on Labor Day for a facial and eyebrow threading. I had originally called her two weeks prior to my appointment and was told by her that she was moving locations and to contact her in two weeks. Two weeks later (Labor Day), I called her again and asked her if she would be able to give me a facial and threading, she obliged and I proceeded to make a 2pm appointment for that day. I showed up to her home about 1:45pm, at which point I was greeted by another customer outside who directed me to where I should go. Kamna was working out of her garage which appears to be under construction and may possibly be the site of her 'new location'. I sat down in a chair as she threaded the eyebrows of a teenage girl. She greeted me and proceeded to talk to me which I thought was a little strange for someone who is threading eyebrows. At one point she made the comment that I must be wondering where she will be doing my facial being that she didn't have a table for me to lie on. *That should have been a sign to leave* I will now list everything that went wrong with this facial: 1)My facial was performed with me sitting in a salon chair and then stretching my legs out onto another chair. Completely inexcusable, especially after assuring me that she could perform this service. 2)Kamna was on the phone 3 three individual times while giving me my facial. Each time taking a break from my facial to talk to her other customers that were calling. At one point she asked me if I could send a text message for her from her phone to her customer that needed her address *yes, this really did happen* 3)She had me STAND over her steam machine that sat on her dresser, subsequently she performed NO extractions. Typically, one expects that a professional is in possession of a professional grade machine that does not require the client to stand up 4) Kamna proceeded to wipe my face with paper towels-at one point I opened my eyes and found that on the underside of the paper towel there clung a black bug. I almost jumped out of the seat! I screamed, pointed out the bug to her and she threw the paper towel away. 5)She made a comment at the end of the facial stating that she would do a better job next time. I really want others to be aware of what level of service they will be receiving from Kamna, she is a nice lady but I don't feel that she should be offering facial services. She is not a professional by any means. I paid her 60 dollars for her services and feel very upset that I allowed myself to trust these Yelp reviews. They were the furthest from the truth. read more

For quite sometime I have threaded my eyebrows. I have even learned to do it myself, but can only successfully do my right brow. So, I researched places on yelp and found Kamna. I loved her! Kamna is quick, efficient, and most of all skilled! She told me that she previously owned a clothing/threading spot in Langley Park. I found kamna on yelp. My old brow lady at Ulta was gone and I was in desperate search for someone to take her place. I tried another waxing spot, and also tried BrowArt23. None of them left me thrilled. When I tried kamna I wa ecstatic. Not only am I leaving with the best (shaped, healthy brows), this is the best price I have paid for brows in years. At $10 kamna does my brows just as well as the $20 I was spending at Ulta. As long as kamna is around, I will be there! If you're questioning it, just go!!! Two words...ghetto and rachet. Please don't fall for all the positive reviews. The first red flag was the fact that she was doing it in her garage. The chair I had to sit on was small and my head was hanging off the back uncomfortably. I don't know about you but I'm way too boogie to be getting my eyebrows done in somebody's garage. Second she did my eyebrows uneven. They weren't sharp and even at all. Thirdly she left the cut hairs on my face and didn't even wipe it off with aloe Vera like other places normally do. This lady is a con artist. I heard she does facials too. I don't know about you but I would not want my facial done In someone's garage on a tiny bench. She herself is a nice lady but the setting was very unprofessional and so was the job. Please take heed to this warning and save yourself the trip. Terrible. read more

I have been to Kamna's for her eyebrow services three times already and she never disappoints! The only reason I havent been in a while is because I opted for a closer location, but that place is becoming a little bad for my eyebrows which are like the makeup to my face! Though Kamna is $2 more than the place I go to frequently, Im coming back to her because she always makes sure things are nice before I leave. Went to Kamna's for the first time after reading glowing reviews on Yelp and was not disappointed. She patiently threaded my eyebrows and it was an almost painless experience. Plus I really liked how she had shaped them, my previous eyebrow waxing experiences were less than satisfactory on that aspect. I made an appointment with her before I went. I called the number and she told she could take me immediately. She does threading out of her house and has a nice studio through her garage. The place smells nice and is very clean. She made me feel very comfortable before she got started. My eyebrows are tricky because they're uneven and very thin. She did an excellent job on them! She shaped them without making them thinner. I definitely recommend calling first! She's in Cloverly now, on New Hampshire Avenue. That's the main reason I didn't give five stars -- it's at least twice as far from my house as the address listed. Anyway, I went to her for my first eyebrow threading because I had heard it was less painful than waxing. It wasn't!! But it did leave my skin less irritated than waxing, so that's a good thing. With waxing, the skin around my brows would be red for hours afterward. When I left Kamna, though, there was just a little pinkness that quickly faded. And she does communicate well with the customer to make sure they're on the same page. She had me check her work three times during my visit, instead of just handing me a mirror at the very end. I'm new to the neighborhood and decided to try this place because of the great reviews. I called three times before driving to her "salon" and got no answer. She finally answered the third call as I was sitting in front of her home and stated that she wasn't feeling well. A waste of my time and poor service. Maybe she isn't aware that her shop is listed on Yelp and that she can update the time on the website. Despite Yelp, she should've just answered the phone. Love Kamna. I always have trouble finding the right person to either thread or wax my eyebrows. When I get them done at the mall (threaded) I always leave with little cuts on my eyebrows bc they are always rushing whether there's a wait or not same goes for waxing. Kamna is the best threader I've been to - and that's a lot. Moving to DC from NJ, I found it really difficult to find someone to thread precisely. A lot of people either do it too slow because they're new at it, which hurts a lot more, or they somehow do it so there's still a little blonde peach fuzz remaining, but Kamna shapes beautifully and somehow does it so that it doesn't hurt as much. Even though I live in DC, I will drive to her house in Silver Spring because I trust her expertise rather than go to anywhere in the city. She is also a very sweet woman. Kaamna aunty is one of the most friendly and sweet persons I have met in US. I am a student from India and paying $10-15 every month for threading was not a very feasible option for me. She gives due consideration to students and does threading for them on reduced prices. Moreover she is very considerate about any urgent situations. It has happened multiple times that I called her after hours and she actually waited for me for an hour and at one instance she even did my eyebrow threading at 9 pm in the night. And in the past 16 years, out of convenience or neccessity I have gone to others to get my eyebrows done and no one, and I mean NO ONE compares. They never come out the way Kamna does them. Today I visited Kamnas threading and she did an absolute wonderful job. I'm new to the area so I needed to find a place that I could get my eyebrows threaded. I found her place online and decided to try it out. I gave her a call for an appointment and she was available as soon as I needed her. When I showed up, she was ready to take me and it only took about 5 minutes. My eyebrows looks great and even! I used to get my eyebrows waxed and would have the skin ripped off and they'd be red for days. I have sensitive skin and threading is definitely the best thing I've found that is easy on my skin. I've been going to Kamna for my eyebrows after growing tired of botched jobs in miscellaneous nail salons. Whenever I get my eyebrows done in those salons I'm emphatically stern when I say "Not thin". I repeat it several times. I get the technician to repeat after me. Not thin! Sometimes it works and I'm okay with it and other times... not so much and my eyebrows are red from so much hair having been waxed off. Anyway, at first I was a little hesitant about the basement thing with Kamna but its always clean, she's so nice, and she's super flexible with her schedule.
