cute vibe. Was on campus for a work meeting and this was really the only easy place to find a coffee. Jealous the students have such a cool space to study in! Coffee wasn't my favorite but there were a lot of different options and I would definitely return here again and try something different rather than my basic iced coffee.

A disappointing overpriced $9 salad

I have been a fan of kaldi's and always ordered ice lattes before classes. Their coffee and smoothies are delicious even though it's overpriced. BUT recently, I went in to get a salad that I normally get but it turns out they changed the portion of the salad. The salad they gave me literally had 10 leaves and two pieces of chicken and it was $9. It made me outraged to have to pay for such an overpriced "meal"

When I learned that Dunkin' Donuts was about to be replaced by a local coffee shop, I was beyond excited. I imagined having smooth, strong coffee, perfectly foamy lattes, and crumbly, buttery baked goods, all within a 2-minute walk from school. Perhaps I set my expectations too high (I do make a pretty mean French-press at home), but Kaldi's has just been ok at best. I've tried their house brew, "Birds and Bees," many times, and it's always been super bitter and burnt-tasting. Their rotating brews haven't been much better, either. Thank goodness for their pastries, which are supplied by the famous H&F Bakery. The pumpkin bread is really moist, cinnamon-ey, and satisfying. I've tried 2 of their whole wheat scones, blueberry and cranberry-almond, which were both pretty tasty. Everything else on display also looks fantastic. Another plus-side at Kaldi's would be their breakfast and lunch menus, which offer a large variety of selections like quiche, burritos, croissants, and sandwiches, many of which are from other local businesses. Unless you come at a really strange time, expect a line here, as well as filled tables. But that's pretty much expected at Emory's DUC. If you get a regular coffee, I recommend buying a pastry to help cut the bitterness of the brew. All in all, I still think Kaldi's is a welcome change to the old Dunkin'.

Who would have thought there is turkish latte, and why as a turkish, i discover it in this place. I can definitely say that the taste was similar to turkish coffee. Definitely give it a try!

My London Fog came with a cup of pure Earl Grey

I'm not gonna lie. I am super jealous that Emory now has a legitimate coffee shop. From what originally was a decent Einstein's to a terrible Dunkin (when I was an undergrad), Kaldi's is an amazing addition to the campus. The space has been altered to provide plenty of study space to accommodate individuals and groups. You're given the choice of comfy, single sofa chairs, high top tables with stools, and extra long tables, in addition to a plethora of outlets. I loved receiving a mug of the London Fog I ordered as well as a cup of pure Earl Grey tea alongside it. I've never received my tea like that, but I feel that they both provide a great palate teaser since they obviously compliment one another. Prices are as expected from a company that provides fair trade and farmer-supportive beans. I'm rooting for this place to be a permanent feature to the frequent changes to Emory's limited dining scene.

Macchiato

Ordered the macchiato and not quite what I expected but I was very delighted to tried it. It came out as a traditional cup. Cute tiny cup serve with carbonated water. The taste was strong just the way I like it and the water after wards was very refreshing. Nice little find while visiting Emory.

My sister and I split the Gaucho and the Yellowfin Tuna Melt (~$20 each). Pricey for sandwiches, but the quality is there. The Gaucho is packed with meat, almost too much, so the combo with chips helps balance things out. The Tuna Melt was the clear winner, Calabrian chilies with the tuna salad was a great call, though the bread-to-filling ratio could use some work. Overall, both sandwiches are delicious but could use some ratio tweaking. I'll be back to work through the rest of their rotating menu.

After many, many months (okay, years at this point), I returned. Unfortunately, I had the same experience with my order. I ordered the Hot Italian. It was warm, and that's all this sandwich delivered. The porchetta was dry, chewy and bland. It was so bad that I didn't eat it all. And the pepperoni and soppressata didn't add any spice to the sandwich. This is the first time I have ever been disappointed in soppressata! I thought the pepperoni mayo would add some kick as well and maybe it would have if there had been more than a half-tablespoon of it. And the bread was not fresh! I could have cried over this. The cost is outrageous for this kind of quality. On the upside, the service remains top tier and the space is still welcoming. But I won't be back. Fool me once, shame on you; fool me twice, shame on me.

Ugh, they are closed for the time being. The building they are in did not renew their lease…read more Stupidity! Tried this place out for the first time a few weeks ago. It's adjacent to a parking deck and small. Very cozy, though! The menu is simple and it was a one-man show that day (other staff had left due to closing). LOVED IT! The coleslaw was really good and the Sammie was probably one of the freshest I've had. We had to wait a bit due to it being just him but worth the wait. I did the hot chick ... yeah, I can get away with saying that ... and it was huge, overflowing, tender and fresh. This is a SOLID spot. I was told they'd be re-opening nearby and I hope that's the case. They were BUSY as well so it's clearly not a customer issue. Check them out when they re-open. Simple and amazing!

The sweet potato fries ALONE... Makes this 5 stars. Ok... Sweet potato fries AND the comeback…read moresauce. Mmm... And the ATL chick. Ok listen, this spot is in the cut wedged between Bank of America and the back of Cornerstone Bank. It has about 7 booths and 4 tables (mostly 2 tops). Customer service is warm and friendly, it always feels like you've known the guys working for years. Now the food...O.M.G. My favorite is the ATL chick which is juicy fried chicken breast tossed in buffalo sauce and... ANNNND... lemon pepper. Cmon. We're in ATL. What other way is there?! Then it has ranch drizzled on top and dressed how you want... lettuce, tomato, onion, pickle. Even the bread is yummy. The sweet potato fries are crispy and airy and go great with the comeback sauce which is whatever smoky heavenly concoction they came up with as a sauce. Listen if you're in downtown Decatur... Do yourself a favor and get here! There is street parking available and you can pay by app or at the meter. It's about $2 for an hour. They also serve salads, other sandwiches, and breakfast. Small collection of beer, wine, and cocktails.

I started coming to the Po'boy shop in 2020 they opened during Covid and at first it was takeout…read moreonly so when they finally opened the inside for dining, everyone was really excited. I remember back in 2020 the owner telling me that they had the LEIDENHEIMER bread flown in from New Orleans weekly. I do believe the bread on a Po'boy makes all the difference. I've tried quite a few Po'boys from here. I've had the grouper, chicken tender and the shrimp, but my absolute favorite is the cheeseburger Po'boy. The burger blend that they use is so good. The remoulade sauce definitely takes it up a notch, but I prefer my Poboy with mayonnaise and they can make it that way. I've never eaten upstairs but downstairs is huge. There's a really big bar. There's a lot of high top table seating. They have arcade games. It's just a great space to enjoy time with your friends. There's plenty of TVs to watch any of the sports games that are on. The bartenders are nice and they really take care of you. Honestly, I think there's something for everyone on the menu. They also have desserts, but I'm not a big fan of the ones that they have. I think the bread pudding is too sweet. Now, if they added a brownie with praline sauce and pecans and bourbon ice cream that would be amazing. Some of my photos are from 2020 to the present.

WHO DAT in Atlanta!…read more As a lifelong New Orleans Saints fan living in the Atlanta area, I genuinely appreciate finding an official Saints bar that actually pairs the game-day atmosphere with New Orleans-style food. The Po'Boy Shop in Decatur does exactly that. I had visited before and tried a few different po'boys to go, and they were great, but this time I decided to stay and watch the Saints game. That completely changed the experience for me. The atmosphere was exactly what I was looking for--Saints fans, good energy, football on the TVs, New Orleans food, and a crowd that was actually invested in the game. It felt like a legitimate gathering spot for the Who Dat Nation rather than simply a restaurant that happens to show football. The staff was friendly and welcoming, the restaurant was clean and comfortable, and once again, the po'boys delivered. It's hard to beat watching the Saints with other fans while eating a good New Orleans-style po'boy hundreds of miles away from Louisiana. What I appreciate most is that The Po'Boy Shop gives Saints fans around Atlanta a place that actually feels like our spot on game day. Win or lose, that kind of atmosphere makes watching the game more enjoyable. Good food. Great staff. Great atmosphere. And plenty of Saints energy. I'll absolutely be back--especially on game days--and highly recommend The Po'Boy Shop to anyone looking for New Orleans-style food or fellow Saints fans searching for a home away from the Dome in the Atlanta area. WHO DAT!
