I've driven by this place countless times since moving to the area, and honestly, half the time I can't tell if it's open or not. The building isn't the most welcoming -- it kind of gives "abandoned" vibes from the outside -- but they were open when I finally decided to stop in. The indoor space is small, though there's plenty of outdoor seating. The gentleman behind the register wasn't exactly the friendliest, but he was accommodating and answered my questions about the menu items. We went midday and were pretty hungry, so we ordered a good spread: the Affogato coffee (just okay), and the Golden Drops Sampler ($16) which included two Caribbean empanadas, one coxinha (a Brazilian croquette stuffed with shredded chicken and cream cheese), and one pão de queijo (a chewy Brazilian cheese bread). The coxinha was easily the standout -- flavorful and satisfying. We also tried the Cuban sandwich. It wasn't the best I've had, but it wasn't the worst either; the one in the menu photo definitely looked better than what we received. For almost $50 total, I wouldn't rush back for the food. The coffee seems to be the main draw here, but while mine was decent, it didn't wow me. Overall: mediocre service, mediocre food. I finally gave it a try, and while I wasn't completely disappointed, I probably won't be back.

Cozy place! I visited golden drops yesterday to catch up on some homework and it did the job! I ordered a latte (no surprise there haha) and it was yummy! I do like that they had an option for dine-in cups so there was no paper or plastic put to waste. I decided to sit outside but unfortunately forgot how crazy the streets of Decatur were. I was interrupted about an hour into my visit by a man screaming at me. I had work to do so I just ignored it, but do wish this was in a safer location, or near more businesses other than a gas station. The ambiance was unfortunately just not there for me, but I would consider returning and sitting inside. Although I should mention this is not your classic cafe experience. It felt like more of a restaurant than a place to sit down and do your work. Don't let my experience deter you though! Cause they look like they had some amazing food options.

The food is delicious, it is very filling and the drinks are extremely thirst quenching. Golden Drops Café is run by a very nice gentleman and I will most definitely be returning!

I was headed to the VA Hospital next door and I know wait times are long so I needed food and coffee. All the intersections are so busy and it's not easy to just stop at a drive thru but Golden Drops is in the perfect location to avoid that. It's outdoor and indoor seating. I'd like to think like a work or study spot. Almost everyone had a laptop and head phones so I'm adding this to my list for that. The staff was so nice and bilingual which is always a plus. I had the beef empanada and wish I got two. The pastry was perfectly crispy and airy and they didn't shy away with the filling. I also ordered and Americano con Leche (with oat milk) with whipped cream. They also have alcohol available for the extra kick or wind down. It was a great accidental stop and next time it will definitely be on purpose! It was not to quiet and all windows for the sun to come in. 10/10

Chill vibes located close to Emory Clairmont Campus which is very convenient. Good food and coffee! 5/5 food - coffee was yummy, banana muffin was surprisingly good 5/5 service - baristas were very nice 4/5 vibes - limited indoor seating with access to outlets if you're doing work

Get the Cuban sandwich. Thank me later. Location and Parking Located in North Druid hills, parking is free and there is a decent sized lot around the building. Venue and Atmosphere The shop is small inside, but there is plenty of covered outdoor seating. There are few plugs, so please be aware of that if you plan on working from "home." Service Service was prompt, courteous, and efficient. Food and Beverages The golden latte is served with a helping of cinnamon and vanilla notes. The Cuban sandwich was cooked to perfection, definitely one of the best in ATL. Verdict I'll return one day!

running low on chicken?

The pour-over was mediocre (over burnt, stale beans). The chicken sandwich was hard and dry (reheated?) with the smallest possible amount of chicken you can put on a sandwich. We had to toss. It also took 25 mins to come out. The chai latte was good and their pastries were fine, a bit pricey.

I found this place through Yelp and is a great local cafe. This place is pretty small on the inside but it has a spacious patio. They will bring the food to you and clean up after you if you Dine-in. I noticed a few people were using this place as an internet cafe. I ordered the Cuban sandwich, Golden Latte, and Caribbean beef empanada. The Cuban sandwich had a great taste but it did not come with any mustard on the side. The pork was pulled pork and the ham was deli sliced. Decent but not special. The Golden Latte is amazing. You can taste the cinnamon. The empanada was nicely fried and filled.

So you want a good cup of coffee to start your morning? Yeah, me too. Hence my motivation to walk up the street from the cozy Emory campus in need of a cuppa. And I found one! Golden Drops is easy to find off Clairmont & easy to enjoy in about any weather. Great covered patio space with accent lighting! My visit was in the morning (when it was unseasonably warm), so an opportunity to be in the shade while I enjoyed my pourover was just what the doctor ordered. So while I do like me some handcrafted coffee, I will carp ever so lightly that a pourover shouldn't run me in the $6+ neighborhood. Points for the flavor, but meh for the value. It was good, but not amazing. Golden Drops also serves up items of the drink, as in the adult bottle nature. I didn't have an opportunity to partake in those, as it was still 8:00 in the morning, but I may be back just for that. Nice sightlines for several TVs, a fair space in which to enjoy your drink inside or out, and a great menu. Worthy of all four stars, and if we could do half-stars, then it would be a 4.5.

2 Golden Lattes, 1 Coxinha, 1 beef empanada

Owner/cashier is extremely rude - and was yelling on the phone almost the entire time we were waiting for our coffee/food. Inside of empanada and coxinha was cold. Golden latte was so-so. Very disappointing given how excited we were to try this spot. Not sure how the ratings are so high...

Came here last week for a quick bite and drink before heading to my VA appointment just down the street. At least I thought it was going to be a quick bite ... Parking is easy to find in the private lot for Golden Drops Cafe, which is a standalone business. This location had to have previously been an old style Arby's, because it still has the Conestoga wagon style architecture in place. The inside area is mostly the kitchen and food/beverage prep areas, with some tables and chairs, and a long high counter with tall stools. The covered patio out front is shaded, and it has a whole lot more tables than what's inside. This place has a nice open vibe. Although the employee was nice and courteous, the service was slow the entire time I was there. Some of the customers got tired of standing while waiting for their orders to go, and sat down to wait, periodically looking at the time on their watches or phones and looking annoyed. My wait was 25 minutes from the time I ordered until the time I received my order to eat in, and it would've been nice if the employee had warned everyone that their orders were going to take some time to make so that they could make the decision to wait and not get annoyed or just leave without ordering. What tipped me off that the service was going to be delayed was when I had to wait a few minutes at the order counter waiting for the employee to finishing making other customers' drinks, and the employee didn't even acknowledge me or say, "I'll be with you after I finish this." I ordered an egg and cheese croissant and an almond latte, and sat down at one of the inside tables. 15 minutes into my wait, the employee brought me my latte. It was good. 10 minutes later, the employee served me the egg and cheese croissant. This honestly was the best egg and cheese croissant I've even had. Everything about it was perfect! The croissant was hot, buttery and flakey perfection. The scrambled eggs were soft and airy, and there was just enough cheese on it for flavor and to hold the sandwich together. It was so delicious that I was kind of sad when I finished eating it. And it was definitely filling. I would definitely order the egg and cheese croissant again!

I came here on a Saturday morning to get some studying in. The service was so nice. I ordered a latte and the cheese and guava empanada. I really like coming here because it's so casual and quiet.

This is a cute cafe with both indoor and outdoor seating conveniently located next to the Atlanta VA. I've had their golden latte before and it's delish! Their Cuban sandwhiches are a little smaller than some of the other places in the area but I think it's prob one of the tastiest. Their empanadas were OK. Def prefer Buena Gente empanadas but these are less oily and probably healthier for sure.

Outdoor are at Golden Drop w/me and my sister/friend visiting from Hawaii. Had to bring her there!

You can gain entry by using the backdoor garage entry or the entry near their patio area. Unfortunately, when I visited it was pouring and I didn't realize that the former was possible, leaving me to fight the rain once I found the patio entry. Foxtail is not a huge space but they offer a number of slim tables, barstools and two different seating areas with big, comfy chairs. It was easy to grab a seat, even with an 11am rush. There only 2-3 team members working, but they were all very nice and so patient as I stared at the menu with indecisiveness. The menu offered a variety of teas and coffees, along with a display of pastries and a number of sandwich options. After seeing that they served banana matcha, I had to see if I could add banana flavor to my latte - I could! So I started with a banana latte with oat milk + a ham, cheese and egg croissant. My latte was so delicious, I went back for a 2nd cup not too long after. My croissant was delicious as well. This is really a great place to do some remote work or to conduct meetings. The wifi was easy to connect to and I was able to get so much work done in the peaceful coffee shop as the rain poured down outside. Definitely a nice cafe to spend a day at!

Thus shop is doing all things right!…read more Let's start with how we got here ! A friend sent me a picture of a Tik Tok picture featuring an ube latte! I responded with - when are we going? We decided we would wait until the weekend since we would have to drive from Cobb county to the city. I started doing some research and did not see ube latte on the menu. I called the phone number listed on yelp- but it appears it is just a cell number and went directly to voicemail. I went to the website and found an email address. I sent a basic question/ do you have an Ube latte on your menu? To my surprise I received a response! This simple response was exhibit A that they don't play about customer service On Saturday morning I arrived to the shop around 11am! The coffee shop is a neighborhood spot! However, I enjoyed checking out the item for sale while waiting in line. The book titles had me laughing , this is your go to spot for a unique gift! We ended up ordering the following: 1. Hot Matcha latte with ube and oat milk 2. Hot ube latte with oat milk 3. Cheese danish NOTE: I did confirm that the matcha they use is NOT pre- sweetened. This is a huge plus in my book!! The item came out quickly. All items weee served in to go containers. I am not sure if this is just standard practice even if you are dining in. We were able to grab a table outside! However, this place was crowded and open seating was limited! My matcha was AMAZING! It was not too sweet, which is how I like my matcha. The cheese danish was also delightful. My friend said she enjoyed her latte too. I will note that I did not taste the Ube flavor. This coffee shop is a vibe, but also serves yo tasty drinks and treats!
