The office at South Common is terrible. I will not go back there. I had a tire swap recently, and they left the rear tires hyperinflated and the front ones with half the recommended psi. I thought it was a temporary alert because of the recent tire swap but it did not go away. By the time I wanted to come back and tell them to check the pressure they were closed. You had my all season tires stored for 6 months. Is it so hard to check the pressure before the customer leaves? It's a tire swap, for God sake. Not coming back to that location. read more

More than 3 hours for just tire change! I waited one month for my booked appointment and ordered 4 new steel rims few days prior to my appointment. I showed up and was advised that I might need tire alignment and I agreed. Informed that it would take 2 hours for the tire change and alignment. After 2hrs, I went back to the centre to check if my car is ready. I saw my car outside the centre and noticed my original rims are still on. I asked myself, so it's done, why they did not call or send text? Since there was only 2 staff in front, I waited for few more minutes. When it was my turn, I was told that they have not done the alignment and it would take extra 30mins. They gave me the option to skip the alignment and I agreed. So I just paid the tire change and 4 new steel rims, a total of $688.80! I went to my car and as expected, my original rims are installed on my winter tires. Checked my summer tires inside the car, hoping they just made a mistake of putting the new steel rims on my summer tires. Surprisingly, NO new steel rims!!! I paid for those new rims right?!!! I went back to the centre and informed them about it. The agent was surprised as well and she went to check with the other staff inside the workshop. Apparently they forgot to installed the new steel rims. I was informed that they can do it in a matter of less 30mins and again, I agreed because I do not want to reschedule and miss my work again! After few more minutes, another staff came to me and said, "there is another problem". The rims they've ordered was incorrect ... what? really?!!! They've offered to reschedule and even going to give discount on my next appointment. But I turned it down and just asked for my refund. They gave me a $50 discount for the messed up. Came to Kal Tire to see Neil G. about a set of summer performance tires for my car. My husband knew what he wanted for the car, and Neil was the guy to get them for us. Super friendly, professional, and to have our tires switched over was a breeze. They even store them too (for a fee). I'll be back in a couple months for a new set of winter tires! read more

I booked an appointment to take off my snow tires. It's the middle of May. I show up at 4:30 and wait until almost 7 for them to finish. Why!?!? They had walk ins that they were serving. So....why pretend to to have an appointment system if you don't honour it. Ridiculous!!! read more

Presale was good! Day after discovered the battery had been disconnected and vehicles settings were lost. This was not asked for or wanted! When I went in for the retorque the excuse was " we were giving you a service". I went in for tires. Not a battery service. I did not appreciate having to rest my settings because they thought they could sell me a battery! read more

The service is good! I received a message after my tire change was done. I prefer message rather than a call - simple and easy, and you won't miss it. But not all the businesses use auto text message. I did not give 5 because when I brought my truck in I was told I need to pay for the tire change fee which has been free for me for years since I bought the winters tires from KAL Tire. The explanation was that there had been service discrepancy because no customers would bring in their Customer Care package. Then I said I should have been told about the service policy change when I called in to make the appointment. The customer service immediately waived the cost and told me there won't be free tire change next time. I don't agree with this policy change because to me the Customer Care package is an agreement and should not be breached without customer's consent. This change should not affect existing customers with Customer Care package unless the package stated that 'can be changed by KAL Tire' etc. So far, I have my tire services at South Common Kal Tire for several times. Very happy when I found out that Kal Tire fills tires with air for free, and I'm really grateful for this service. After struggling in the cold to fill my tire that would refuse to inflate for me, I brought it to them and they filled it no problem. If I ever need anything more than a tire fill, i'll be going here. read more

On the coldest day of winter after coming out of Staples I noticed one of my car tires was flat. I thought I might be able to drive it a short distance to somewhere close by where I could possibly get some air in. Fortunately this KalTire was within a block so I drove to it. One of the employees was outside generously filling the tire of someone else who was experiencing a similar thing to me. When he was finished I asked if he might do the same with my tire and he was happy to oblige but when he tried he noticed the tire had deflated to the point it was off the rim and hoped my rim wasn't damaged. He explained that there was presently only one customer in the garage and that they could get my car in after an hour or so if I wanted to wait. I spoke with Maurice at the counter and booked our car while we waited. As promised they pulled my car in after about 45 minutes and took about another 45 minutes to pull my tire off and thoroughly check it out, cleaning and sanding the rim where rust had accumulated, giving it a new bead, re-installing the tire and checking brakes, pressure all the way around, etc. Due to the labour I imagined I was in for quite a bill but when it was all done I was presented with a $26.00 bill, which I was more than happy to pay. Pleasant staff and quality work at a decent price makes me think I'm going to go there next time I need to buy tires! read more

AWFUL SERVICE! I brought my vehicle in to replace a blown out tire and was told to wait 3 days for the replacement to come in and that they would give me a call. Fair enough. A week goes by and no phone call. I call up the shop and they tell me that it will be another few days which is understandable. Two weeks go by and I've had enough as I cannot continously drive on a spare tire so I go to speak to them in person and am told that the tire came by early that morning and should be ready to be installed later that evening. As I'm driving home on my brand new tire i realize that the tire is flat so I stop by the 7/11 to fill up. I would assume that a tire company would fill up your tire or at least let you know it needs air before sending you on the road. Turns out the brand new tire is leaking so I return to the shop to explain to them the new situation. They tell me it's my rims that blew out the tire. Upon further inspection they admit the tire was not installed properly and this brand new tire has blown out as well and reluctantly told that I need to return tomorrow for ANOTHER new tire. On my final visit to Kal tire I'm told that it'll only take 30 mins to install it. One and a half hour later I finally get my tire replaced. No apologies for the wait, no reprimand. I'm treated as more of a nuisance than a customer. Sorry for the inconvenience, Kal Tire, at least you got my money and that's all that matters, right? read more
