As we walked around, I saw several arcade games that instantly brought back memories from the early 1980s -- the same kinds of games I grew up playing. The highlight for me was the new Star Trek pinball machine. Even though it's not one of the older classics, it quickly became my favorite. Watching the Enterprise light up and move up and down was just awesome, and sharing that moment with my kids made it even better. I also want to mention how impressed I was with the bathroom. It was very clean and surprisingly private -- the stalls have walls that go all the way from the ceiling down to the floor with no gaps, which you rarely see in public restrooms. It made the whole visit feel even more comfortable. Spinners is a great mix of nostalgia, modern arcade fun, and thoughtful details. We had a fantastic family day.

Things I like: Lots of variety. Consoles, pinball, air hockey, arcade machines Allowed to bring your own food and drinks- not trying to price gouge with mediocre, overpriced food. You could order a pizza and have it believed here if you wanted. Allowed to leave and come back if you need a stimulation break Things they might want to consider How to limit play when it is busy. I can imagine people "camping" on their favorite game while someone else wants to play. Maybe have a play limit during busier times? Better instructions on playing other games on the console, if that's even possible. I wanted to play the ps3 but it only had Lego batman. Not a game I would enjoy. How do you change the game or maybe you can't. I loved our time here and look forward to going back soon.

Let's go! I was sad when the Columbia location closed down, but Gaithersburg is still rocking and I think this arena is far more interesting than the Columbia one. The arena is the right level of dark with fog machines running too. There are several platforms with various access ramps. My favorite details is that a few platforms have a grate where players can shoot down at others below (watch out, they can shoot up at you too!). There are always rapid fire and mega power Gems for upgrades and a third that rotates by game (invisibility, invulnerability, dark thief), so definitely sign up for 3 games if you can to experience the full rotation. The prices are reasonable, especially in today's economy. There is a water cooler to refresh yourself between games, because you will work up a sweat between the crouching and quick moving around while wearing a phaser pack. It's our favorite workout, to be honest. There is an arcade with a variety of games, including prize games, driving games, and shooting games. The main area also has concessions to snack on. Overall, if you want some workout and fun, check out Shadowland.

The laser tag area and equipment looked good and was approved by the kids. They played two rounds and ate in between. It was a very successful party and according to my son his favorite one. We also got ice cream cake from them and it was good. I would recommend for children's parties.

The games are fun and plenty of the staff is willing to help and assist with game reset or if there is a problem with the game itself. They have a massive selection of…read moregames, including a lot of really interesting Japanese style prize machines that were super fun and offered a unique challenge compared to standard claw machines (though they have plenty of the typical claw machines too). The Japanese style prize machines were definitely harder to win prizes from, but if you enjoy the challenge you'll find them very fun. They had some interesting games too that you don't typically see anymore, like an Initial D racing game and a ton of DDR machines. The arcade was very clean, and the staff was incredible. Super friendly, helpful, and constantly resetting and restocking the machines. Every staff member I interacted with was great and really on top of things. With all of that said, the biggest downside and the reason I will not be back is the cost. The games require a lot of credits per play, and many of them have extremely short playtimes, so you burn through your card extremely fast without even feeling like you've played much at all. This is especially true if you are trying for the plush prizes, since even the tiny keychain size plush machines come out to about $2.50 a play and only seem to payout every 2-3 tries. Even if you don't necessarily care about winning prizes the whole experience was so disappointing because it felt like we were blowing through our credits with barely any time to play since most of the games are incredibly short. Plenty of the games give you less than a minute of play time and cost $3-$4 to play. If you do care about prizes, the ticket redemption prize situation is pretty disappointing as well. The ticket costs for prizes are incredibly high, even after my husband hit a jackpot for 300 tickets we could barely afford anything at the gift shop. The ticket prize shop was huge, but when a tiny foam play sword costs 610 tickets it wasn't even fun to look through all of the potential winnings. Prizes weren't our main motivation for having an arcade date night, but when we were already feeling bummed from the lack of play time we actually got it really just felt like the icing on a terrible cake.
