I give five stars because I had a great experience. I got what I paid for and my goodness!! The facility had lots of perks. You have to take a shower before you get in the float spa and they provide everything you need to have a successful float and walk out looking relaxed. They have shampoo, body wash, ear plugs, ear wash, a locker, a robe, etc. I'm excited to have something like this in SA. Especially how inclusive the products provided here, is a huge reason for five stars.

I have visited Krysus twice now. Both times were because of an event booked for us to relax by yellow ribbon fund San Antonio Chapter for us to relax and enjoy the facility. Our package purchased for us included a 30 min float, 30 min sound therapy, salt room experience, NovaThor light therapy and the compression therapy. Being my second time I knew I wanted to have my Sound Therapy experience first. They get you seated in a special seat, place a blanket and a weighted blanket to cover you. You put noise canceling head phones on your ears and select from a list the sounds to help with something that's troubling you such as anxiety, or stress. You cover your eyes with a eye mask and they start your experience. The seat beneath you vibrates and the sounds really put you into an amazing zone of relaxation. My friend said she almost fell asleep. The sound therapy for me helps me meditate and clear my head in a way I have never been successful at previously. Floating was nice, I made adjustments after my first float with the lighting and sounds. My first time I went complete sound depravation and I not like it. Others love it that way. But for me, I needed the sounds. The owner mentioned they were in the process of expanding so I am excited to see what's to come for them. If you are looking for something different to do for a girls day, or even a couples day date. Come here. The prices are reasonable and the owners are veterans who care a lot of helping other veterans!

So I am new to float therapy and have never been. Today was my first time experiencing this and I have to say I am so impressed. My husband purchased the introductory float package which we found to be very affordable. He was able to purchase and schedule my appointment painlessly and effortlessly on their website. When I arrived I noticed the cleanliness of the facility as well as their special care to following COVID guidelines. Check-in was hassle free. I was provided a tour of the facility as well as information on what other services they offer. I opted for a 30 minute sound therapy session prior to my float session. This was relaxing! As a first responder it almost always feels like we are in a heightened state of mind. The sound therapy was relaxing and I felt myself slipping away into sleep next thing I knew it was over. I was then taken to a dressing room to prepare for my float session. The dressing room is stocked with personal care items, luxurious plush robes, and shower shoes. Everything was neatly placed and disinfected after each use. I changed out of my clothes and wrapped myself in this amazing robe ( think carnival cruise ship plush but probably better, I hope they offer them for sale sometime!) and went to my float therapy room. Inside the float therapy room is your float cabin and a shower. Towels and ear plugs were provided and I was informed on the process of the float and given instructions. Latina was amazing at answering all my questions and giving me her take on this floating experience. Now for the best part the float! As you shower off before your float the cabin fills with water. I rinsed any and all oils from my skin and was ready to climb into my pod. I closed the cabin door and the LEDs illuminated the cabin, the sound of waves engulfed me as I floated. The lights and sounds of the waves gradually faded after a few minutes and I was in total darkness. I suffer from multiple herniated discs and debilitating back pain. None of these ailments seemed to matter for the duration that I was floating. Being in the dark I was able to focus on just floating. I felt myself melting into the abyss. Who knew 30 minutes would pass so quickly. The cabin filled with soft sound of waves and the ambient lighting brought me back to reality. My session was done and I felt amazing. I am new to a holistic approach in my well-being. This is definitely worth your time. I will update my review after I have completed my 3 floats to share my overall thoughts. I would highly recommend choosing a float package because 1 float really isn't enough to decide if this is for you.

Each time I float, I leave more relaxed and refreshed than the previous time. Membership is the best way to go. The facility is always clean and I have been treated with respect and shown appreciation by every employee. There is a session type for everyone and they provide everything you need to recharge and appreciate the importance of self care. The NovoTHOR red and near-infrared light therapy has worked pre and post workout to help my muscles both perform or recover. Give it a try and see why Krysus is the Gold Standard!

I didn't know any better.. this was back in 2013. When the opioid epidemic struck they were quick to cut me off cold Turkey after I refused to let them inject me month after month so they could bill my insurance thousands I'm sure. That was the best thing that could of ever happened. I got myself off pain meds after 6 years but doctors like this started this pandemic. I'll take my blame but shame on them for giving a 24 year old those drugs then treating me like I had a problem. I have family members who go there with major issues . They want them to get off their medication go on Suboxone and then after a while they'll give them opioids again.. makes no sense . I'm extremely grateful I took myself off opioids all alone and I'll never ever be the same - overall traumatic. No one ever told me the side effects of these drugs . I never was coached on the risks they just kept upping my meds. Started me out at 8 norco a day then I was put all the way up To dilaudid with accompanying slow release hydrocodone (zyhydros). Then one day it was no more .. no compassion .. I deal with my pain daily .. which I'm ok with . I'll never ever take another pain pill again and I pray for those who have turned to drastic measures to manage their pain. These doctors knew what they were doing but they were making a lot of money off us with Tricare insurance (the best insurance out there ) shame on you guys for knowingly handing the scripts out then when it came down on you you act judgmental like we are the ones who are to blame.

But the person that handles the preauthorization is HORRIBLE!! I was scheduled to have a procedure and was not told that the insurance had not approved it until I was checking in to have it done. Her reason was that my insurance company could not find me in their system. So my wife called our insurance company and they called the office and talked with the woman who does the preauthorizations. They told her what they needed. The paperwork was faxed to the office. This was all started on the 11th of August. I have called every week in hopes that the paperwork has been done. I have left several messages for her and none have been returned. So I call today and finally get her on the phone only to have her tell me that she has never talked to my insurance company and that she has not received any paperwork. My wife was literally on the phone when the insurance called her. I hate to call anyone a liar but she is definitely one. IShe was so rude that I lost my cool. Then she hung up the phone on me. Review of SA Pain Clinic - 5522 Lone Star Pkwy, San Antonio, TX…read more This was my first visit to SA Pain Clinic, a civilian facility I was referred to by the VA for chronic back pain after 21 years of military service. I've never felt more disrespected by a medical staff. Right away, I was handed paperwork focused entirely on mental health--nothing about my back pain. This is supposed to be a pain management clinic, not a psychology office. Then a staff member told me I'd been "randomly selected" for a drug test. When I questioned it, she said, "A lot of people come here looking for pain pills." That was unnecessary and offensive. When she called my name, she told me with attitude, "You can't see the doctor unless you pee in a cup." I had every intention of cooperating until she said it like that. I've never been seen by this clinic before and don't take pain medication unless prescribed. I even provided recent lab results from Lackland Air Force Base as a courtesy. It seemed this clinic was more focused on billing unnecessary tests than helping patients. I plan to contact the VA to have this place reviewed and hopefully removed from the approved provider list. Veterans deserve respect and real care--not judgment or disrespect.
