I had to fill out a quick questionnaire. I then followed my masseuse to a nice room. I laid face down and she came in and went to work for 1 hour. I do plan I going back, probably every 2 months or so.

The front desk lady explained the different massages and offerings. I opted for a regular deep tissue for 60 minutes with extra emphasis on my back. Lisa was assigned to me and was quiet but very nice. She led me to the massage room and worked my back like a heavyweight. I really needed that. I don't know if I can handle a 90 minute massage because I just wanted to go to sleep after the 60 minutes. I was very pleased with my experience and I have no hesitation going back for another service.

This was, without a doubt, the WORST massage experience I've ever had. Based on numerous five-star…read morereviews, I had high expectations for my recent visit to Healing Foot Body. However, the outcome was nowhere near what I expected from a place with such high customer ratings. I arrived and was greeted by a lady who was to be my assigned therapist. She pointed out the posted massage options and prices, and I chose the one-hour body massage for $80. I'm used to a therapist getting things started by asking me questions and identifying problem areas in advance. In this case, there was little to no concern or empathy about any of that. Just an impersonal "walk this way, take your clothes off and lie on the table." Unfriendly and very unwelcoming. Not a good way to set the right tone for a good client experience. My session began and it was clear early on that I was NOT in the presence of a well-trained massage therapist. Instead of the lightly applied massage lotion I'm accustomed to, she smothered her hands with it and slathered it all over my back, arms and palms. I could feel the oily residue slowly seeping into my skin. As things progressed, she spent a longer than necessary amount of time on certain areas, and completely ignored others. To make matters worse, her "technique" was not therapeutic by any means. I sensed a very limited knowledge of pressure points, muscle tissues, etc. I felt awkward, tense and uncomfortable, definitely not relaxed. I started to wonder if this would get any better. About two-thirds into the massage, I had to excuse myself to use the restroom. When I returned, she rubbed a wet, abrasive towel harshly over my back, presumably to remove excess lotion. I felt like I was being scraped with damp sandpaper. It's been a few days since my visit, and my back is still irritated from that unexpected torture. Then, as if things couldn't get worse, she finished by randomly slapping my back and legs with both hands, in the most comical way possible. Like a two-year-old splashing in a bathtub. She wrapped it up by passively saying, "OK that's one hour" and then just walked out of the room. I sat up on the massage table and tried to make sense of what had just happened. And why someone this poorly trained, unfriendly and unsympathetic could possibly be allowed to treat a massage client. This was the first time ever that I spent an entire massage session on my stomach. No direction to lie on my back for any front body treatment. Since she was the only one present at the time, I couldn't lodge a complaint with a manager. So I just paid my $80 plus tip and walked out, feeling completely cheated and far from satisfied. Not only do I fault the therapist for her lack of skill and empathy, but I also hold the business responsible for failing to ensure quality service from its staff. Despite my unpleasant experience, I hope others who choose to get a massage at Healing Foot Body have a much better outcome than mine.

Magicians Exist & They Work Here…read more I've often thought massages and things alike where meant for someone of affluence or at least that what I perceived in movies. Perhaps that's why I never truly appreciated the art in which muscular therapists treated their patients. I say patients, because after experiencing an immense amount of pain in my upper back from working at desk for many years, I started to feel physically ill. The pain from my right shoulder began to shoot to my neck often making me feel nauseous, fatigue, and restlessness. My husband began to research possible treatment methods and ultimately found this company, Evolving Bodywork here in San Antonio, TX. Their reviews were on point, so he proceeded to book an appointment for me. I walked in reluctantly , but my husband said that he had a feeling this would be a good fit for me. I made no attempt to look it up for fear I would chicken out, but I made it with one minute to spare before my appointment. Straightaway I was met with a huge smile from the owner! The lobby room burst with character and fragrance that I could only describe as simply warm and personal. The owner, already geared for this Halloween season, should win an award if there is one for best business Fall decor in San Antonio, TX! I instantly felt at ease, these were my people, no bright lights or sterile feelings here. I began my Deep Tissue Massage journey in a exquisitely appointed room with the most relaxing settings, such as top tier cleanliness, calming music and tranquil lighting. My Therapist was Shaunna, who I believe is a master magician. Not only did she explain the process, she also made me feel very comfortable knowing how nervous I was initially. It was clear throughout my deep tissue massage that Shaunna was not only a wealth of knowledge but more importantly took the utmost pride in her work. My one hour at this magical place put me under a spell so I had to sign up for their monthly membership program which provides so many perks, I even signed my husband up too! I even inquired about gift cards for my sisters and step-daughter who are very busy moms with so many back/shoulder issues. I have two more appointments scheduled and needless to say this will be a staple in my monthly selfcare journey. We often forget how much we put our bodies through, and yet rather than heal or release the pressure we merely endure. I believe that anyone reading this should at least give Evolving Bodywork in San Antonio, TX one chance, you will not only be changed but a believer in the power of this business.
