I never had a problem with them getting the job done or feeling overcharged when I needed work done for checking and replacing hosing and fixtures for my bathroom and kitchen sinks, or laundry appliances. I used their services several times when I lived in a condo since 2003 and then upon my move to a townhouse in 2012. In August 2019, I had a leak occur from my upstairs bathroom causing my ceiling of my downstairs bathroom to bubble and sag. I was on a limited time frame as I was to leave on a trip in 10 days and needed my family to have peace of mind while I was gone. I called a few plumbing companies to get estimates, however, I either did not get in contact with someone directly, or was told that there was a cost to the assessment, which would go toward the repairs if so needed. I hesitantly scheduled with them for their soonest availability, which was two days later. Shaka Plumbing (Niel) responded to my message quite quickly, stated no charge for assessment, and could come that afternoon. Chris arrived promptly. He was friendly, efficient about the assessment, and seemed honest in his recommendations and suggestions. He took the time to explain the general and common issues of the waste and overflow piping and gaskets that may have caused my leaks and bubbling, and the repair options. He was patient with my many questions, was very accommodating to my schedule; and best of all, able to come the next day at my convenience to do the job. Chris worked efficiently, and was also able to coordinate a freelancer to close up the work area on the bathroom ceiling right after he was done with the pipes. He finished the job within the time frame he estimated with no fuss. He was polite and friendly, and even showed me the basis of the project and the guts of all the plumbing (and everything else that was living in the drain...YUCK!!) that he took out. In addition, Chris was willing to help me purchase supplies and come back on another day that my schedule would allow, to help me with caulking the tub to further minimize water leaking to the ceiling. Thank you!!! Thank you!!! And THANK YOU!!! Chris represented the company well to demonstrate a no fuss, job well done with prompt and efficient service, and with a personable and friendly smile!

Google helped us to figure out that we should release the main drain at the outside of the home, which is brand new construction btw. Once we released the drain, all the sewage in the house drained out (It was gross; use your imagination here). Our builder even came out to investigate if his plumber was the cause. Nope. Turns out it's the main sewer line and only a professional with an auger will do. It's 7 o'clock on a Sunday, regular sh*t floating in .... and Shaka's 24 HOUR claim just aint so. Sadly, they're in good company as NONE of the 24 hour plumbers seem to work on Sunday evenings. Shaka DID call back and said that he would TRY to find "one of his guys" who could help us. His 20 minutes has turned into an hour and 20 minutes and no answer when I called him back. I'm guessing he couldn't find anyone. And the search continues...

Krystal their coordinator walked me through the process and explained the different systems, size, cost, etc. (I had called other plumbing companies recommended on Angie's list for comparisons). HPG was the only company that told me that I would need a PLUMBING PERMIT FROM THE CITY DPP to do this conversion. Trying to work with DPP to get a Permit is another story to tell but after being passed on and speaking to 5 different DPP personnel, I finally was able to get to the correct person and the needed permit by filing online. HPG sent Elton to do a site inspection for a better estimation. It took 2 days with Elton, Ryan, and JJ to complete the job to install my double systems. They were courteous and even let me know that they were leaving for lunch, clean the workspace area and rubbish before leaving. Quality of work excellent and tested the system before leaving. I know that I received the best value in cost because of my comparison shopping. I definitely recommend HPG. Also, Mahalo to Dean of Harada Plumbing for the referral when you told me that this job was too big for you and to call Torigoe.

They price they estimated was around the same price as most of the others I spoke with. Although some quotes much higher and only one quoted roughly the same but with additional work would be covered. I didn't go with that company for other reasons. Any who, EverTrust came out for an assessment free of charge! One of the other places charged $45-$75 just to do an assessment! I don't have a ton of money, so the fact that this was free, I was overly happy. A close friend of mine referred a specific plumber with EverTrust but of course you can't call them directly. I was skeptical when I read some of the reviews on here and Google, but since he referred them, I put my trust in my buddy. Turns out the guy who he had shared was the person who showed up! Talk about winning. Nathan and his colleague were on time, polite, and professional. We had the leaking pressure regulator replaced, installed a main shutoff since our's couldn't be located (thanks 1993 construction), and installed a new toilet. Originally we were just going to replace the wax ring, but we were advised (1) the toilet the previous owners installed is the worst of the worst and it's not ergonomically good and (2) install of a new toilet and replacing a wax ring is the same labor cost. The only difference is the price of the toilet. So we decided to get a new throne. They even helped with a old hose connection faucet! Again super nice and professional. The estimate came back in two parts which was nice. The cost our original plan and the cost of the plan with the upgraded toilet. I would suggest them for your plumbing needs.

I messaged the scheduler Chelsea Tuesday night to confirm and she said sorry they had an emergency so couldn't make it (but I had to text her to find out). So following week we finally got the plumbers to come. They went over our list to confirm what needed to be done and said they just had to go to the van to get supplies. I told them that I'll leave the front door open. After 15 min, they drove off without a word. I figured maybe they needed more supplies so I waited 1.5 hours and texted Chelsea for an eta for when they'll return and all she said is she'll let me know when they are headed back from Nuuanu. I ended up waiting 3 hours total then texted her again saying I have to pick up the kids from school but I am ok leaving the door open for them to come do the work. That's when she called and said they were missing some supplies from the warehouse so that's why they are waiting and maybe it's better to reschedule. So then I asked if they could ask least do some of the work since I blocked my day already and she said she will get back to me... half an hour later I decided to leave the house because she never got back to me and I ended up texted her if we can reschedule (around 2:15 pm) and she never responded until 7:37 pm. Ended up going with CJ plumbing instead and they were much more responsive and professional! I don't mean to complain but I gave them 3 chances and I thought EverTrust was very unprofessional.

Fast forward to June/July, I reached out to LaRue's and left messages and finally got ahold of Morgan. He seemed very pleasant and willing to work with me, but after that call, it was like pulling teeth from a cat to get much communication or response. I had to continuously call and message to get set with the free estimate, and after he came to inspect my townhome, he requested about 4 days to get me the quote, which I never received. I left another message about 2 weeks after the visit to inquire and never received a response. I feel bad, but I received the impression that my project wasn't worth the work because I only wanted to get the top floor's work done, and was hoping for around $4K for a low square footage. Regardless, a quote or reply would have made a world of a difference. now I have to look around for another company, since I still need the work done. I'm sure he does amazing work, but in my opinion, if a business can't respond to inquiries and people that are willing to hire them for work, it's not worth the time.
