It is worth waiting ~25 minutes for 4 pupusas because you can't rush home-cooked delights! The pupusas come to you, hot and fresh, with plenty of melty cheese while the ingredient of your choice shines through (spinach, chile which is more like bell pepper, etc.). The rice is perfect and every grain is fluffed; the beans are smooth, creamy, and earthy. The queso fresco adds another layer of flavor. Seating is limited to ~16(?), and sectioned in a portion away from the kitchen/grill area. Cash is always great to have but card is accepted. read more

Lovely, very homey spot! Fairly priced, food is delicious and the portions are great! I've had breakfasts only, but I'm really looking forward to trying the pupusas too. I've picked up food several times since the pandemic started. The pupusas are great. I've tried 4 different kinds. They've always been cooked just right with great texture and toasted corn taste. And the curtido is generous and fresh. I like loroco and cheese best. I've also tried their tacos, asada and al pastor. Surprisingly good. I only wish for more salsa variety. The woman who runs the show is very nice and conscientious. She always makes sure all the sauces and napkins etc are neatly put in the take-out bag. Overall, I highly recommend this place. read more

Everyone always talks about hole in the wall restaurants pretty often, but this place is a legit hole in the wall. By legit hole in the wall I mean that this place literally looks like someone turned their house into a restaurant. This place is right across the street from a high school so it can be overlooked due to all of the traffic during the week, but don't let that bother you because this place is absolutely amazing! They have a 3 large pupusas for $5 which is a steal and by large I mean pretty damn large. They have tons of options and even some pupusas of the day. Fair warning is that they make all of the pupusas from scratch so when I ordered 9 to go it took a while, but you can hear the cook making each and every single one. Not only are they large and fresh, but they're some of the better pupusas I've ever had!! There is some seating inside, but not a lot. Loved this authentic little restaurant. Don't get fooled by the name, it is a mix of Salvadoran and Mexican food. They have one of the best pupusas and mulitas I've ever tried. Their aguas frescas are really good too! My favorite one was the Jamaica(hibiscus flower water). Another must try is their plátanos fritos(fried plantains). It is a delicious dessert. Definitely recommend. This last time I was there I ordered a mulita, I asked the nice cooks if I can customize it and add beans cheese and lettuce, they said yes but of course there would be an extra charge. I had freshly made pupusas here and they were delicious. I got the revuelta with rice flour masa and it was quite tasty. I also tried loroco for the first time and was pleasantly surprised but the texture and flavor. I was accompanied by a Salvadoreño who approved the food and it's authentic flavor. They maintained proper COVID-19 barriers and practices. Although small the establishment was clean. Don't be intimidated by the intimacy of the small space. Would not recommend this place. The quality of the food is extremely low. I ordered a few tacos, a quesadilla & the taquito plate. None of the items tasted even decent- major disappointment. The cheese was cheap & nasty, the chicken was dry and old. There was a TON of butter (or lard- ew!) slathered all over all the food- beans, rice, tacos etc. It was prolly the worst local food I've had so far. Other than the terrible food, the 2 folks working that day were not friendly by any stretch of the imagination... borderline rude! While I waited for my food, I used their bathroom & noticed that they didn't have ANY soap or paper towels. Just water & an ancient air dryer from the 80's. I'm pretty sure they don't have other bathrooms for the staff handling the food- which just makes the experience even more disgusting. Don't go there. We threw out all the food. read more

Dos de queso con loroco y dos revueltas de chicharron con queso. $12 later... we were on our way home. I was looking forward to taking a big bite out of these deliciously stuffed masa balls. I took my first bite of the revuelta. The pupusa was good, but not the best I have had in this area. It lacked a bit of flavor for me. The queso con loroco wasn't bad. The loroco added a bit of flavor, but not as flavorful as I would have liked. All in all, I would eat here again, but I wouldn't go out of my way for it. read more

We didn't correct them since it took so long and we were hungry. The squash and cheese is very bland even with the sauce and cabbage topping. Bean and cheese was fine. Definitely one of those hole in the wall gems that can easily be passed by on Broadway Blvd across from Lincoln high school. I always pass by this location when heading home and one day my gf and I were craving pupusas and decided to give this place a shot. We easily found parking on the side street and as you walk in you get the feel of almost a cozy little home turned into a restaurant. The restaurant is rather quaint and authentic. We decided to order their pupusas of cheese, beans and cheese and revueltas. When looking at the menu we were also drawn to the wet burrito and tacos. The portions were generous and the food tasted like great authentic family recipes. We really enjoyed their salsas and to our liking the pricing was great for what we paid for.
