Lots of staff to help you out and a pretty big menu. I ordered a Vietnamese coffee but if I'm being honest it just tasted like a regular coffee. I work at a pho spot in Cali and am used to the Vietnamese coffee being really strong but it could be that they use different grinds and don't use Cafe Du Monde. Regardless it WAS a good coffee and the milk tea we ordered was good. I think it deserves the four stars cause it looks like theres not many boba spots here and the staff was really nice. There are plenty of places to get dessert in Key West. I know because we tried most of them! What's…read morenice about Mattheessen's is that they offer some items that are uniquely their own. Food: The one item that really stood out was the PB Fudge Cookie. It's a large peanut butter cookie with a thick layer of peanut butter fudge, topped with another thick layer of chocolate fudge. Yes, it's one big and delicious cookie. It's expensive at $12, but it's large enough to feed a family of six. There were other items that looked equally amazing, including the chocolate-dipped coconut macaroons. On another visit a couple of days later, we tried the Key lime pie, and it was excellent. The crust had a rich, buttery flavor and held together well. Instead of the traditional meringue topping, they used whipped cream, which was a nice touch. We even asked for extra. Service: The staff were friendly, helpful, and patient. We never felt rushed. Atmosphere: The shop is well lit, clean, and has an upbeat aesthetic. Mattheessen's is a place we would, and did, return to for a second visit.

The highlight for me was the world-famous Turkish ice cream. If you've never tried it before, you're in for a treat. It's incredibly thick, rich, and creamy, with a unique stretchy texture that almost feels like a cheese pull when you separate it. It was easily one of the creamiest and most delicious ice creams I've ever had. Of course, you can't leave without trying the baklava. It was fresh, flaky, perfectly sweet, and absolutely delicious. They also offer a wide variety of authentic Turkish desserts, so there's plenty to choose from. Another fun surprise was that they serve the popular Dubai chocolate-covered strawberries, loaded with pistachio and other delicious toppings. Everything we tried was excellent. Easy fast service. Whether you're stopping in for dessert or just want to experience authentic Turkish flavors, The Baklava is a unique and memorable place to visit in Key West. I'm a HUGE fan of baklava, so I was genuinely excited to try this place while in Key West…read more Unfortunately, this was some of the worst baklava I've ever had. The pieces we tried had a really strange chemical taste that reminded us of cleaning products, or as if the ingredients were old or expired. We tried several different pieces hoping it was just one flavor, but they all tasted off to us. We couldn't even finish them. The service made the experience even worse. We stood there for about five minutes before the woman working even acknowledged us. Not even a simple "Hi" or "I'll be right with you." It felt like she didn't notice us or simply didn't care that we were standing there waiting. As someone who absolutely LOVES baklava and has had it from many different places, I was extremely disappointed. Between the strange taste and the poor customer service, I definitely wouldn't come back or recommend this place.
