The employee I spoke with was very friendly. I didn't get their name but they answered my questions about that huge Texas donut that looks like it's five long donuts in one! I order the cronut which had a nice crunch but soft inside with sweet dough and sweet glaze. It wasn't greasy and it was perfect for a breakfast treat. Also, the store is in a good location off a main road and it has a large parking lot. There's several self checkout machines. Highly recommend.

We found the salad bar we'd heard about and a soup station. We both decided on a bowl of soup. It was less than $5 per person, and the soup station also offered crackers or bread for an additional fee. The utensils (metal and plastic) were actually located near the entrance of the Co-op, not the soup station. The Co-op had a membership that appeared to offer a slight discount on prices. Overall, the Co-op was quiet, offered a mix of organic and specialty items, with a deli, salad bar, and soup station. Their cashiers were friendly. It definitely reminded me of Trader Joe's and Sprouts. Definitely would return and recommend.

The parking lot is kind of small, but we were able to find a spot to squeeze into on our visit. When you enter the building you'll see an impressive self-serve section and I noticed quite a few people loading up their plates or to go boxes. There's an island of ingredients to make your own salad and a couple of home made soups, and another area for hot items. My mom and I decided to share a squash soup, a small salad, and an assortment of hot items including South Carolina pulled pork, mac n cheese, biscuits and gravy, and mashed potatoes. I also decided to try a local kombucha which was really refreshing. We grabbed our utensils close to the exit and headed upstairs to enjoy our food. After we devoured everything we perused the main floor and bought a lot of Montana based goodies including teas, Bequet caramels, soaps, and skincare products. Suffice to say I spent quite a bit of money here, but I'm happy to support local and be able to share the Montana spirit with my family and friends! I'd say Community Food Co-op is kind of like a cross between Trader Joes and Whole Foods, but with a great emphasis on sustainability and local goods. This shopping experience was exhausting. Example: I wanted roasted sunflower seeds for my salads. I looked first in the nuts aisle - not really expecting to find them there, but it was on my way. No seeds. Then on to produce, abd , having some experience, looked on the shelves under the produce bins because they are sometimes displayed there. I kept walking, and finally, on the back of a display near the beer cooler, there were huge bags of the seeds available - but no price or signage. This one task just took too long. In addition, their organic fruit selection was paltry. No blueberries, strawberries, or any kind of berry that was organic. I found apples and oranges.
