It's generally a subpar experience whenever I shop here but THIS time, the entire store had multiple awful smells going on at the same time. Dumpster smell right when I walked in, rotting meat/fishy smell through the produce and meat counter area, then straight up pet store smell. Like barn animals. It's sad that what used to be such a great pharmacy has turned into what it has. I take a lot of medicine and for the last year, it's been nothing but a hassle. This latest is the worst. My doctor called in a prescription for methylprednisolone over a week ago. For those that know, that is a medication that is prescribed when something is happening that needs to be addressed quickly. Well, it's been over a week and they still don't have it in. Meanwhile, I'm feeling worse and worse. Inexcusable. I will be switching pharmacies. This was the final straw. read more

Was in today at checkout found someone had left a refrigerated meal at the counter on a box of fire logs. Handed it to the cashier for disposal ( it was warm) she in turn asked her assistant where this goes. Assistant says I know and took it back to the refrigerated section! I have been sick from food there before and now I know why! Don't they teach these people about food safety???? Please don't buy any frozen or refrigerated foods from these people!!! read more

Holy moly. This store is the best. Especially since now they offer drop off service in the parking lot! With their app you order your groceries online, even produce, and then park in the designated spot, call the number and viola! They bring your stuff to you!! With small kids that I don't have to unload... i am extremely grateful!! read more

This is part of the KROGER chain! YIPPEE!!!! That means Kroger cards and Fred Meyer cards work here, and the points carry over. YIPPEE!!!!! This is similar to Kroger in that it's just groceries and pharmacy, and some seasonal stuff. It is NOT like Fred Meyer which carries furniture and linens and housewares, and gardening, etc. But for groceries, you should find anything you might need. Pretty easy access for an RV as long as you take the side street near the gas station. But this place is pretty busy so parking will be dicey. I recommend parking along the outer edge and park sideways. I parked in a spot where I had a straight shot to the gas station after I was done shopping. read more

I seriously need to stop going here all together! They have decent sales when they do have them, but my latest trips have shown the following: MOLDED BUTTER!!! I have NEVER had butter mold, and these are weeks away from the sell-by date. The produce is hit or miss, usually miss, I saw bruised and abused apples, pears, bananas ect at least on my last 3 visits. Also, I have noticed that they are trying to sell out of date/bruised produce at a reduced price, which is fine...BUT most of it is just flat out rotten. Step up your game, Smiths, prices are too high and you consistently have rotten/expired food on your shelves. My next review will go straight to your corporate office. read more

Smith's is good competition for Town & Country and Rosauers. They offer a good organic foods section. With Bozeman food prices generally 5-10% more than other towns I find that you need to shop the sales flyers or go broke. read more

I use Smiths often for curbside pick up. The people who work there are always friendly and helpful. recently I had an order very messed up in countless ways. I called and they were very nice and went through all the issues I had one by one. Without missing a beat, the manager apologized and told me to stop in when I was ready and they would have all my corrections ready for pick up. They did just that and I was very impressed with their customer service. Thank you Smiths Manager for being on top of the curbside situation. You out did yourself and with a positive attitude. This is the worst pharmacy! Just like every other smiths pharmacy I've delt with! They are liars and make you feel like an addict when you're trying to fill a doctor's prescription !! Then give you attitude when they're wrong in the first place! Wouldn't give me managers name until I made a scene !! That night pharmacist should be either fired or reprimanded!!! I was out of my meds and had to go back in to have them fill something that should have been filled per doctors order!!! Maybe I'm used to different price points coming from Chicago/DC, but this store doesn't seem to be any different than any other grocery store... at least not to the point that it's noticeable. The store is large, has great selection, and everyone is friendly. The produce looks beautiful, the bakery and deli have great items, and it has had everything we've needed every time we've visited. Our area no longer carry Smith's grocery stores. It felt similar to a cross between the Albertson's and Fry's I am used to in Arizona. To save money, I signed up for a Smith's card and that allowed me to save money on groceries and gas. Most of the people were very friendly, but not everyone. No issues, but glad for this store. read more

Smiths Bozeman pharmacy SUCKS!!!!!! The pharmacist is the most condescending jerk I have ever met! I was told at 4:00 that my prescription would be ready in an hour. My wife went in 2 hours later and was told there no prescription for me at all. I went in shortly thereafter and, after waiting in line for 20 minutes, was told that I couldn't pick it up until the morning due to the refill timeline for pain medicine. I understand that, but was frustrated that the person I talked to earlier did not inform me of that fact, so between my wife and myself we wasted 40 minute in line for nothing. I just had surgery on my elbow and wrist, and tomorrow I have to go out of town for work for the day. I asked when I could pick it up and this jerk said "We open at 10. But we won't have it ready until later in the day." I told him I needed it earlier and asked why he can't get it ready tonight or first thing in the morning and he LOUDLY said, in a super condescending tone, "Well we have 400 in the queue ahead of you so you'll have to wait." I HATE Smiths Pharmacy, I've never had anything but problems there, so I was very frustrated with my Dr. sending it there as I prefer to use Safeway. I told this guy that I didn't appreciate his attitude and that I would be there as soon as they open at 10, and he replied "Well we won't have it done, have a great night" once again in a rude condescending tone. I left and called my orthopedic surgeon and told them to cancel the prescription and send it to Safeway instead. I will be leaving this exact review EVERYWHERE on EVERY REVIEW SITE I can find. read more

Been shopping here for 8 years. Occasionally I go to other grocery stores and I walk out every time thinking, damn I should have just gone to Smiths for that. Their prices are THE BEST in town. The produce is always fresh. I get everything I need from this store and the people that work there are super friendly and helpful. I'm also very impressed with the Kroger brand. DO NOT BUY THE CHICKEN. Yes, the chicken is cheap and you can get a lot for a few bucks. BUT it's going to be cross contaminated and taste of nothing but fish at least 50% of the time. We've given them multiple chances and every single time: fish. Go to thw bakery and get cake instead. read more

Please guys - get someone on customer service to deal with Western Union money orders ONLY when they occur. Each transaction takes at least 5 minutes, so if you're unlucky enough to be behind a few people needing to send money, then you're in for a long wait, and there is never more than one person behind the C/S desk. Loved that it was a part of Kroger compAny I moved from an area with a Fred Meyers and love FM. This... This store has awful employees. Bought expired yogurt before, made sure not to do it again next trip and found yogurt two months old. When checking out asked what looked like the manager if he was just that and he rudely replies 'yeah what?' With some stupid look on his face. So I made sure to announce the two month old yogurt louder than I planned. I hate the check out area it's cramped and usually dirty. The cashiers throw my stuff around and in bags. They popped open a yogurt of mine in bag that was a fun surprise. Customer no service pretty much. Prices are great for most things like I liked about FM. read more

Coming from Michigan, I was so relieved to find a grocery store just like the Kroger I shopped at back home! Their sales are competitive and they have a clean store with helpful and friendly staff. I used to eat here on my lunch breaks at the deli. The customer service can be blunt and rude sometimes and others quick and kind! I don't know if maybe I just catch them on most of their bad days or the service is really that bad. It is also discomforting that they do not have good food prepping skills or cleanliness behind the counter, especially when slicing the meats and cheeses. I just can not bring myself to eat at the deli any more and I only grocery shop there when I need to quickly because it is very expensive. The deli service and quality is disappointing and I'd rather have fast food. :( read more
