My experience with Dr. Kagan was extremely disappointing. My son and I arrived for a 10:00 a.m…read more appointment and waited 50 minutes past the scheduled time without being seen. I checked in with the front desk after 25 minutes, and again at 45 minutes, explaining that my son was missing school and I had other obligations- we might have to leave. By 10:50, with still no communication or update from the doctor, we informed them we were leaving. Later that day, Dr. Kagan called me--not to apologize, not to check on my son, and not to acknowledge the extended delay and poor scheduling. Instead, he questioned and criticized me for leaving. It was clear that his ego was hurt by the fact that I wasn't willing to wait indefinitely or reschedule another check-in. Rather than approaching the situation professionally, he lashed out, spoke to me in an accusatory tone, and even hung up on me. He ended the call by saying that "as a courtesy" he would send our records, and that it would be the last thing he'd do for us. The complete lack of professionalism, empathy, and respect for our time was unacceptable. Patients deserve a doctor who communicates clearly, values their time, and treats them with respect.

Went in when my daughter was a little over a year and having eczema and breathing problems…read more Dr. Konz told us (after testing) to rehome my cats, and that there was no other option. I did so. She told me that because my daughter was having allergies around dogs as well, it was imperative that my daughter was not around dogs. She wrote a note to my daughter's father expressing this. My daughter's father called in a few days later and said that, because he had never seen a reaction from my daughter around dogs, that Dr. Konz needed to change her diagnosis. She relented, wrote another letter for him, and asked him that neither of us call her again -- as she did not want to be involved in a "custody dispute". I tried calling a couple of times after to clarify that my daughter was okay around dogs, and never got a single call back. My daughter continued to have allergies (around dogs) for almost six months before I brought her to another allergist. He advised that my daughter was not allergic to dogs, and that she was mildly allergic to cats. He gave us a variety of suggestions that did not involve medication to help soothe my daughter's allergies. Since then, she is completely fine around dogs AND cats. We brought our cats home. Dr. Konz is very easygoing, but the clinic (and Dr. Konz) handled the situation unprofessionally, potentially putting my daughter in danger because only ONE parent could be at the appointment. The clinic was kind and considerate, and they even offered my daughter a toy at the end. But when it comes to safety of my child, I would not trust them. Not for a second.
