From the moment he arrived, the Heartwood owners and staff welcomed him as part of their family. We observe that they treat every resident with kindness, patience, dignity, and respect, and it is obvious that they genuinely care about the people who live here. Knowing that he is safe, comfortable, and well cared for gives us tremendous peace of mind. Heartwood is always clean, attractive, and inviting. Residents have access to several comfortable TV lounges with cozy furniture where they can visit family, relax, socialize, enjoy their favorite programs or nap. The beautiful outdoor garden is another wonderful feature, providing a peaceful place to walk, enjoy nature, or simply sit and visit with friends and family. They also have an adjacent facility for more advanced memory care when our ward needs it. What impresses us most is the personal attention each resident receives. The staff is attentive, compassionate, and responsive, and they do an excellent job communicating with families. Over the past two years, we have consistently seen a level of care that goes above and beyond our expectations. We are extremely grateful for everything Heartwood has done for our ward and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a warm, caring, family-oriented assisted living home for a loved one.

The Landings does contract with a phenomenal hospice and home health company for any supplementary care that they need. I believe with the new ownership, that this facility is not what it was in 2024. Go to the actual facility and meet some of the amazing caregivers, kitchen staff and administration that meet the needs of their patients. ALWAYS go to the facility to see how they operate. This place always smells good. They do not leave soiled briefs/linens other than the big trash. The food is raved about by the residents there.

Gloria is, to date, the only therapist in Wisconsin who is Gottman certified. Which is a big deal…read moreas it's quite a process to get certified and it's a highly-sought after certification in the field. For those wondering what "Gottman" means, it's referring to John Gottman who is a nationally-recognized researcher who, together with his wife, have spent decades researching marriage and developing evidence-based workshops, writing books, etc. Their approach can strengthen happy relationships and help repair troubled ones. Given her certification, Gloria not only offers couples therapy using the Gottman method but she is also able to offer Gottman's workshops locally (no need to fly to Seattle to Gottman headquarters!) People actually fly here to attend this workshop! Gloria does an excellent job presenting the material in an engaging way with a touch of humor. My expectations were way exceeded in the workshop I attended, it really was money and time well spent! I think other attendees felt similarly as I noticed peoples' moods seemed improved Her style is approachable and she makes you feel comfortable to be around. Discounts on the workshop are available if you're a fellow therapist or Veteran. I would highly recommend attending a workshop here as everyone can benefit from improved communication methods and strategies on how to repair things after a fight.
