It's a really neat restaurant and bar (bar is separate and has a smoking area). Laid out very nicely with combos of booths and tables. Very lively for a Sunday and the service was hard. Now the food, nice eclectic menu lots of choices so might take a while to decide. We started with the chips with balsamic glaze and blue cheese dressing and crumbles. It was pretty good and filling but could have used a little bit more actual blue cheese. The au jus dip was just ok with the au jus gravy overly salty. The grouper tacos ( server recommended) lacked any real flavor but I did appreciate the deep fried taco shell that held it all together. I'm sure other items in the menu are 4-5 star worthy but our experience didn't quite hit those numbers. read more

Fried green tomatoes napoleon 5 star Crab bisque 4 stars Lobster ala vodka 3 stars Beef stroganoff 3 stars Cajun Alfredo 4 stars Prime rib sandwich 3 stars Pasta meals 3-4 stars (Our food Server brought a hot as lava bowl of lobster pasta to my daughter and had my daughter grab bowl across table. She scalded her hands and had a lot of pain and burns for a week. A month later I was handed a plate and scalded my hands as well. They really need to not hand customers hot plates. I revisited Kade Kokopelli, this time in the evening. I dined inside rather than outside this evening and the ambiance was on par. Low key, cozy, quirky vibes with a touch of flair. I love the decor! In ordered the ahi tuna salad and it was eh. The "dressing" was basically soy sauce and the entire thing basically tasted like soy. Blech. There wasn't much to it (4 orange slices and almond slivers with the tuna and greens) and for the price you're better off trying something else. My daughter ordered chicken friend steak with mashed taters and beans which was really good comfort food! The portion was huge! The key lime pie was super tangy and not really pie, more like a cheesecake. It was okay, but my daughter enjoyed it. My old fashioned, made with woodford exchange, was really tasty. That was MY dessert! I'd come back again to try other foods simply because the vibe is amazing and the service is good as well! read more

Wow this was a fun and eclectic old Ford motor garage. The restaurant has owned this location for the past 30 years. There's a lot of fun, timeless, traditional items on the menu from gator bites, to stuffed meatloaf, full bar and lots of cool drinks to try. Haven't been here in years but I love the food, ambience, and service is wonderful. We came for lunch and ordered fried Calamari and Prime rib dip and French fries for $1.50 extra instead of chips. The Calamari was a tad overcooked but still enjoyable hence the one star deduction. The Prime rib dip was delicious, and since we were sharing it, our server brought us an extra plate and two dips. Our French fries were cold, but our server checked on us promptly so she was able to replace them promptly with delaying eating our lunch. The decor is quite eclectic with numerous animal heads and hanging door dividers and pictures from yesteryear. Very enjoyable place for a meal. The chicken piccata only slightly resembled the name of the dish. There was no lemon flavor present and the chicken (breast) was nearly an inch thick and tough as leather. A total disaster in my opinion. Tip to chef: Pound the chicken with the flat side of a meat mallet, starting in the center and working your way to the edges, until the chicken is 1/4-inch thick and 6 to 8 inches long. read more

I have been going to kokapellis for 10 years ,lunch and dinner and have never gotten a bad meal or bad service but today I recieved both , 2 of the meals were a mess but mine the worst ,my steak was gray with no sear and I ask for extra Bernanise and the waiter came back when he was serving my meal and then informed me there wasn't any , the asparagus was mushy and the black rice had no flavor . I would have gladly ordered something else in its place ,I get when people are busy but the table was a mess and the worst part is the tip is forced so it doesnt matter if its left a mess . read more

Our meals there always are special. Their meatloaf is large and moist and has such great flavor. My husband loved it each time we would go there. He'd usually pick that! Their staff are well trained and check in with us and try to make sure everything is the way we want it. Most of their sauces and special taste treats are homemade and are very well done. On to the food....this was not our first time eating at Kokopellis and we always loved the diverse menu. Different things like duck, venison and more and everything was always awesome but that's all changed. Still different choices but the waiter said they have a different part of the restaurant now that has a different variety of food. I wish I had know that prior to booking my table. For starters we had the French onion soup and the she crab bisque. Both were very very good! You know there's real crab in the soup when get a piece of the shell in it...lol I had the veal Marsala which was ok. Nothing to rave about. My husband had the Cajun Alfredo and it was simply blackened shrimp, sausage and chicken in a regular Alfredo sauce. Not any type of Cajun seasoning and we have been to Louisiana enough to know the food there. It wasn't bad but not at all what you think. The portions were ok and the prices ok as well. I was very disappointed in the menu options as well with mediocre food. I am sure we will go back to try the new addition but not anytime soon. Our friend recommended this place and we are so glad she did. The food was absolutely incredible. Everything tasted so good. When we entered, we were impressed with the decor. Stuffed animal heads were on some walls. Small and large kokopellis adorned many areas. It was a little darker than we like (hard to read the menu), but that was okay. Our waitress was wonderful. She answered our questions completely, took my water back and brought one more when I complained about the taste (Salty? Metallic? Heavy? Hard to describe), and after taking both back, she brought me a lemonade without ice - in case that also tasted odd. The lemonade was delicious, and refills were wanted and complimentary. My friend and I had the lunch special: 3 for $15. We had the half pressed Cuban (excellent), Caesar salad (fresh and good) and I had the Brie with crackers and jam (delicious!) while she had the alligator bites (must have liked them as she ate them all). Our friend who recommended this place had the Reuben with fries. She brought half home as she was full after eating half! When we were walking to our car, Erica (our wait staff) came after us with a bag of our friend's leftovers. And she was an angel when she cleaned our table and found my phone. We were on our way back when I remembered I'd left it behind, and she was at the hostess stand waiting with it. She was cleaning the table, found it, and went looking for us, but we'd left. Came here with some friends today. We got there early and had heard that they made a great old fashioned. I have to say they were tasty. For our meal I had a prime rib with a side of mashed potatoes and asparagus. Everything was good not great. The prime rib was tender but I wanted more flavor for $38. Overall a good meal but I will probably order something else next time. The service was great and the staff very accommodating and they have a band the first Friday of the month which is when we were there. Not sure why they give a salad fork when there's no salad. My prime rib was all fat and the asparagus was burned, I sent my meal back to the kitchen and chose to eat nothin. My partner's chicken fried steak was bland and like shoe leather, the gravy was far too salty. The bruschetta was decent. Start by saying Mike the server was amazing . Knew his menu and answered questions and directed in the right direction. Food was amazing started with she crab soup which tasted like crab and a nice clean cream sauce . Was very surprised at how much i liked it dash of salt was spectacular . Then my buddy and i shared pork chop and stuffed meat loaf . Both delicious in their own way . Asked for pork chop medium . Was told they don't do temperatures . I was like oh here we go (was gonna send back if over cooked) it was perfect cooked thru but tender and spot on . The Meat loaf had a fantastic texture and flavor almost like eating a piece of steak the cheese stuffing was so so good . Am on my way back sometime this week .. look forward to trying something different and did i mention the ambiance it is like and old lodge meets the lost boys home.
