Then I asked for a side of broccoli and inquired about the price. She said it's $9 and change. When it was time to purchase it, she couldn't find the register key prompt to ring the transaction. SMH! I've been wanting to try this restaurant for quite some time, and I finally got the chance. The decor of the restaurant is really cool as it has an cool theme. The counter and overhang look like a barbecue shanty inside the building. I ordered my food to go. It was around 8 o'clock at night and it was still steady business wise. There's only one negative thing I can say about the entire experience, they're short on employees. The poor young woman at the ordering counter was alone and had to wait on tables and take care of customers in the dining room, then run to the register to take orders, while delivering peoples drinks and food because much of the clientele gets food to go like me. You could tell she was frustrated, but she didn't push her frustration down on the customers. She was still very cordial. The food was very good! I elected to get the brisket basket with fries and I got an extra order of coleslaw. The brisket portion was a tad small for the cost in my opinion, but the quality and flavor beef made up for it and it was a very enjoyable meal! Probably one of the best I've had in a while to be honest. So if you find yourself in the quaint little town of Dade City, I would highly recommend stopping in and give it a try, it may have been an off night for the employee so I won't knock them for having an employee shortage. We were visiting and thought we would stop in. The young ladies working were very friendly and helpful. We ordered the Tuesday special of 2 Pulled Pork Sammwiches. We ordered a side of fries to go along with it. It came out pretty quickly and was really good. The fries were so-so. They have several different sauces: Tractor Grease, Mud Slide, Rump Roaster, etc. Atmosphere is very country and casual. We would come back but we would probably skip the fries. read more

1st of all, we have been there a dozen times in past 3 years and it used to be good. NOW other day, anemic pork with no taste, not even a smokey flavor! Had to drown it all in many of their sauces. It was if the pork was boiled and rung out and plopped on some lame white bread toasted on one side. Fries were like reheated store bought and did not help the meal at all! I'll be honest, the only reason we discovered this place is the advertising on the road looked good. So we decided to give it a try. Yelp reviews weren't bad. Ordered 3 plates: Sausage, Brisket, Pulled Pork. The only one that got more than 2 bites take out of it was the Sausage, it had a nice snap to it and had some good flavor. The brisket was cooked ok, but had zero flavor to it. The pulled pork got a single bite out of it before it went into the trash. The sides: Fries, Sweet Potato Waffle Fries, and Fried Okra. Meh. The service was nice and the joint was clean on the inside, but definitely cannot recommend this place as a spot to eat. And probably won't go back. Any restaurant that we gave a 4 star will become a 5 star as soon as they lower their prices! Its a luxury to eat out anywhere these days. Well, the place was not bad, but its not exactly what I have expected because brisket meal was not big enough ( at least for me) I got meal brisket and it came with Pepsi product, toasted bread , and I have selected 2 sides as usual coleslaw and they didn't have pickles thats why I got potato. Great "fast food" barbecue. I had the sliced turkey basket with fries. The turkey had a good flavor to it and the fries were cooked just like I like them. They weren't cold and limp and they weren't too crunchy. Even the toast had a great taste to it. The hubby seemed to like his quarter chicken basket with baked beans. He ate all of it. If you can't find a sauce you like, something's wrong. There were probably about 7-8 different flavors to choose from. I tried a little on each fry until I found the best one for my taste. They were all flavorful sauces. The girls working were a great help in deciding what we wanted to eat and they kept our sweet tea cups full. The "hostess-cashier" was very unengaging and nonchalant. I only spent $320 this time as I have never eaten the food. I can guarantee that my company will never use Bubbaques again nor recommend them to anyone. Note to owner or manager. Train your people better or you will lose out on more business in the future.
