Food was hot & delicious!! Ordered the Carolina Ripper #3…read moreslider & tender on point! Couldn't finish it, I used to grow Carolina ripper peppers so if you're not used to the heat don't try this! I took the challenge & felt like death was upon me! I recommend Dave's hot chicken for sure coming back!! Service was amazing, this young crew were polite & courteous, and well organized, Mad props to the staff!! Everyone deserves a raise in there!! My wife tried the extra hot slider & tender & she loved the flavor & about of heat, fries were nice & hot as well. Place looks very appealing to the eyes, I recommend you come give them a shot! Ambiance is chill it can get loud so if your bothered by that you can eat outside patio area.

So, we ventured out after work and some much needed retail therapy to Dave's Hot Chicken. Off first glance, the restaurant is very eye-catching. Its neon lights on the exterior draw you in and the colorful-graffiti like interior (and exterior) is playful and exciting. There's ample seating indoors and outdoors and the service is quick. The staff is kind and extremely helpful. So, all that was a plus. Our server even gave us his recommendations and helped us narrow down our order. Of which, for me, was their #1 - two piece chicken tender basket. I got my chicken with a Lite-Mild spice level and it included a side of fries and Dave's Signature sauce. Their chicken batter is coated with a dry rub of spices, which, sadly, wasn't my favorite. I only got a Lite-Mild spice rub (my best friend got extra hot - she loves spicy food), but I just was not a fan of the overall batter / combination of spices used. Maybe if it was a wet rub it would have been a different experience - but sadly, the dry rub wasn't really anything to brag about. Outside of that, the actual chicken itself was tender. The fries were fresh and extra crunchy and I really enjoyed Dave's special sauce. All in all, it was a decent overall first experience. I'd go back again for just their plain chicken tenders, the fries and the sauce. Also, the price points are super reasonable - which is always a great thing.

I'm not gonna question where the heck did my review go to but let me rewrite it again…read more Sultan the Flaming Tandoor is probably the best if not the only Indian Cuisine in the Sherwood area. The food is delicious and the flavors in their curries and other dishes are spectacular. My personal favorite is the Khorma (my memorable dish as my friend Akash would say) every time I could come and either order out or dine in. Akash is the tall guy that works there. Friendly and attentive he always asks how is the food and my response to him is always the same- Wonderful! Some of our other favorites are the Chicken Biryani (very generous portions dine in or takeout), the Korma, butter masala, goat masala and garlic cheese naan (yum)! I also love his they use reliable stainless steel bowls and cups for serving your food and drinks in.

We wanted to have a great source of high-quality and great tasting Indian food nearby. All expectations were high. The reviews were even good to support the expectations. We knew it would be pricey and had the proper expense expectations. Maybe it was an off night. Maybe it was a long weekend and the Sunday night crew was tired. Maybe the ingredient delivery is on Mondays. We ordered the classics - the butter chicken, the aloo palak, chicken tikka masala, etc. - dishes we've had hundreds of times from hundreds of other restaurants (and pubs) so we're very familiar with good, great, and mediocre. Each dish looked the part, but was severely lacking flavor, which is an incredibly surprising thing to say when describing Indian food. While this is indeed a very subjective judgment, the same opinion was shared by our whole table, and even when leftovers were sampled the day after with an opportunity to better infuse, the same judgment awarded. Where was the flavor? Where were the spices? We asked these questions for every dish received. Expectations shattered. As for other criteria, ambience was average for a strip mall dine in restaurant, and with only one waiter, there was significant delay when it got busy - especially with their takeout/delivery demand. So, our search continues for a local solution to satisfy our Indian food fix. Suggestions welcome!

I was on a mission from The Columbian--or maybe just following a hot tip in the local paper--when I…read morediscovered Darbar Halal Market. My expectations were low, having nearly mistaken it for a secret society meeting thanks to its location next to the bright beacon of caffeine that is Paper Tiger Coffee. It's hidden in a building where, apparently, only food ninjas know the entrance, and the parking lot is the only thing that's well-lit. Inside, past a treasure trove of loose-leaf tea and spices, I found a well-lit menu the size of a large billboard near the register. The owner, a very proud and friendly man, took my order. He was practically beaming about his establishment and, tragically, informed me I'd just missed the last of the homemade baklava. The disappointment was real. We ordered two items that would change my worldview: the Jalapeño Smash Burger and the Falafel Sandwich. First up: the burger. A double for a cool $8 à la carte! I was not prepared for this flavor explosion. What sets it apart is the seasoning--a symphony of black pepper and savory spices that hit just right. The American cheese was melted into perfection, creating a beautiful orange cascade over perfectly sautéed onions and jalapeños. A sturdy but soft brioche bun heroically contained all the juicy chaos. Seriously, this smash burger is better than some places that have "burger" in their name. Then, the falafel sandwich--a fresh, flavorful masterpiece. It features freshly baked, airy pita bread, ground chickpea falafel, crisp veggies, and their legendary house-made green sauce (which tastes like a cilantro-garlic party in my mouth). It was a light and delicious counterpoint to the burger's meaty glory. The only confusing part is the seating situation. There's plenty of space, but no tables. It's a "take your incredible food and run" situation. I'll be back for that elusive baklava and another burger, you can count on it. Highly recommend finding this culinary speakeasy!
