First time eating Afghan food. The ambiance is one third restaurant, one third bakery, one third grocery. They had some music that felt like the vibe i thought it would be. I had the Shami Kabob, Doogh drink, and bolani kacholo and a black tea after I finished eating. The Shami Kabob was amazing, I used the bolani kacholo which is like a potato inside a thin bread(looks like a tortilla), and put some of the ground meat kabob on it. I also dipped all the food in the green chutney and yogurt sauce. It really is delicious. Lots of good spice used in the food. The Doogh drink is like a cucumber mint type drink. Its a little thick, almost like a yogurt. If you want it to be a little sweet I ended up putting some sugar in it. It was really good either way. The hot black tea was very good if you are into tea. Lots of different spices in there. Good pick me up after pigging out. I like the fact that everything is made to order, and you can tell its family owned. They really care and you can tell. Like most Americans, Afghanistan is a corner of the world we aren't acquainted with. I heard about the restaurant from a segment on Kgun-9 and decided to try it out. My buddy Mark served in the Peace Corps in the 1970's in Afghanistan. He couldn't remember the name but he said it had rice, carrots, and raisins. It is Qabuli Palow: The National Dish of Afghanistan. That's what I ordered for lunch. The dish is kind of like Rice Pilaff (the nuts in the dish were pistachios or almonds). The rice hides the lamb shanks unseen the rice. It was a delight to the eyes, and the taste was outstanding. Gently blended spices, that produced a beautiful dish both visually and and tastefully. The prices are on the high side: $15-$25 range. Much of that is because the meat must be halal: permitted. The preparation is in accordance with Islamic beliefs. The staff was Dr and attentive and created a welcoming atmosphere. There is a small market there as well that sells Afghan foods. I will save that exploration for another day. They are very much a welcome addition to the Tucson gastronomy scene. read more

This place is an absolute hidden gem of incredible food. Being vegetarian I was a little worried they only had two vegetarian meals but it does not matter one bit, once I had the Banjan Burani (eggplant dish) I have never looked back. This may be my favorite meal in tucson. (Also, I bet it could be made vegan if you didn't add the bit of yoghurt drizzled on top, but that's just a guess, you'd have to ask). It's so fresh and flavorful and warms you inside and out. My husband gets the Qubuli Palow (rice and lamb) and it is a monstrous meal. He raves about the juiciness of the lamb as him and our 3yr old devour the mountain of rice, raisins, carrots and lamb. (And that's saying a lot when you can get a picky toddler to eat a meal like that). In any case, don't let the bright lights or grocery store vibe put you off, this place is magical. We got the mantou, quabuli palaw, and bolani gandana. All were amazing and unlike any food I have tried before. The lamb in the quabuli palaw fell right off the bone and the sauces that came with the bolani gandana were very good. The restaurant is located inside a store and is pretty casual. Absolutely love this new little gem in Tucson. I invited a friend here and I got the Qabuli Palow while my friend got the Chicken Kabob plate. Both were delicious, with special shoutout to the Qabuli Palow's mix of aromatic spices (flavorful spicy, not hot spicy), and how the chicken in my friend's plate was juicy and excellently flavored. Also, the service was outstanding, the small family feel really comes through, and the owner and her husband are both very lovely. The ambiance is nice with no frills, conducive to both a peaceful meal or a conversational dinner with others. I have been in Tucson for 9 years and I'm so happy that Afghani cuisine has been added to the scene here!!! Must try!! This is a brand new restaurant/ grocery store that serves Afghani cuisine. We came to try the food, and it was so great! The wait time is a little long, but that's because the food is made to order, and it was definitely worth the wait. We ordered the Bolani Kacholo, which was a potato turnover entree, the chicken kabob, the shami kabob which is ground beef, and the banjan buriani which is a vegetarian dish. Everything was so flavorful and well balanced. This is a great little restaurant and store, and I hope more people come out and try it. We came here for a late lunch. Two of us are gluten free and the owners explained what we can and can't eat. They had a lot of options. I got the Qabuli Palaw and the lamb literally falls off the bones. Then the raisins make the rice sweet and delicious. My husband got the Chapli Kabob. It looks like a big burger and tastes amazing. The seasoning is very good. I wish I knew what they used. It also came with a green sauce which my daughter feel in love with. This was my first time ordering Afghan food thanks a recent Uber driver's recommendation, and I was so pleased! I ordered the Qabuli Palow, which had juicy pieces of falling-off-the-bone lamb in tasty biryani rice, decked with veggies. Also tried the Bolani Gandana appetizer which was like a flatbread or pancake with a zesty vegetarian filling. Everything was super fresh and I have leftovers from the ample portions. The third-party delivery service was a little pricey, yet it arrived in a timely manner and I was able to spend more time enjoying my food rather than dealing with traffic on Campbell. For years I have wanted to try this cuisine. I am sorry I have waited so long. My friend and I tried it for the first time together and at Kabul Corner. We were both very pleased with our experiences there. I had the Qabuli Palow, a wonderful lamb stew and Basmati rice dish. Don't think stew in the Western sense as it doesn't have a broth. But don't let that stop you, it is still so flavorful and the lamb is so tender. My friend had the Mantou, Afghan dumbplings stuffed with seasoned ground beef and topped with a garlic yogurt sauce. This was another great choice! We both really enjoyed this dish as well. We finished lunch off with small pastry typed desserts. Perfect ending to an excellent meal. I hope to try something different the next time, but I did love my dish! read more

I have been to Kabul Corner multiple times with both family and with co-workers. I genuinely think that Kabul Corner has some of the best food I've had in my life. The service is extremely friendly and makes me want to come back every time! I would highly recommend the Montu dumplings.
