    my favorite korean sushi place in ktown. all of their fish and tsukidashi are fresh and high quality. tsukidashi plates vary in a pleasant way depending on freshness and availability. very low key and for the price, you get a lot. the sashimi is fresh here and they provide a wide variety including toro and fresh abalone. you can also add on or order some really good a la carte sushi items. had some really fresh uni here better than some more reputable sushi places i've been to. in line with korean sushi restaurants, they have fresh halibut here as well. tempura is really good. you finish with mae oon tang, spicy seafood korean soup. never too crowded, free parking right in front. only downside is they'll close a little early if they don't have enough patrons. if you're in the mood for a korean inspired sushi course, come here. i want this place to stay around for selfish reasons, but it's just good solid sushi all the way around. service is quick and polite; sometimes the owner will bring you a complementary dish and take a shot of soju with you. sake also available. thumbs up.

    Came here for lunch today with my mom. We were the first ones there today so we had the place to ourselves for a little bit. The food was good and we got our orders quickly. I wish I had more wasabi bc I am a crazy wasabi person lol. I didnt like the miso soup as much though, but I had the yellow tail bento and my mom got the sashimi bibambap (the Korean version of poke). For the price this was not bad!

    Ok... i dunno where to begin. 1st off, if your an avid eater of sashimi, then you have a pretty good expectation of food and service for these type of spots within ktown. Wife birthday and she requested we try a new spot she found on yelp that has alot of good reviews. Unfortunately, yelp completely failed this time around! Service is completely absent given there was only couple other tables. We should of known soon as we enetered seeing the lack of customers. We had to ring bell everytime even get attention within restuarant of 3 tables. Portions were all late and very limited. Im literallly having the biggest buyers remorse as i write this post, but cant take it out on wife since its her birthday. Anycase, if u like sashimi platter spending $150-250 avoid at all cost. So many other spots with more portion, better food, and better service. Seriously, if gonna skimp on portion at least provide better quality. Literally wanted to spit out some of their fish that was soo bad. I would never pay the price i paid for what i received. I provided most honest review, so i hope whoever reading will avoid same buyers remorse im feeling. I have to add again that we are here for the full course sashimi. There lunch specials anything other might be completely different. Wife literally said "i wasnt expecting this bad" this place literally trying to rip you off in front of your face. We been to bad places but this place is openly trying to scam you. If u dont believe me, i will bet this place doesnt last the next 6 months! Take my word and avoid at all cost.

    No wait and free parking. We ordered a small set and food came out quick but the soup took a while. Only downside was we were in a private room and it was difficult to wave down a server when we needed something.

    I had lunch with a friend in Kabukicho today. I ordered the Hamachi bento set and it was very fresh and high quality. The sushi tasted great and the tempura was good as well. The waiter was very kind, and all the staff were friendly. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also very nice. I'd like to come back in the evening next time to try more sushi. It's a place worth visiting.

    First time here, and had a very pleasant experience. It's been a while since I seen a Korean sushi spot, so decided to stop by. I believe there's free parking if you park right in front of the restaurant- made the mistake of parking a little farther away because I thought that the restaurant was part of one big spectrum, but it's in a smaller, separate one and ended up paying for valet. Went on a weekday during lunch, and the restaurant was clean and quiet. Staff were very polite and attentive. They served us green tea and sides upon arrival, and made sure all our needs were met. They also had a lunch special, and we ordered the chirashi bowel and the sashimi bimbibap (forgot the actual name) and both came with fried shrimp and miso soup. Everything was really fresh! I thought the chirashi bowl rice was a tad sweet, but that's a personal preference. Fish was plentiful and provided a decent variety. The sashimi bimbibap was very good and was the favorite between the two. While it was on the pricier side, it's hard to find a good sashimi bimbibap, so I thought it was well worth it. I'll definitely be back when I'm back in town!

    New owner and the food and service is SO GOOD. 주인 바꼈다해서 그냥 갈려고했는데...걍 갔으면 큰일닐뻔했어요. My family of 4 was very satisfied with the food. It comes out like courses and they give you a lot of service if you order the set. Honestly best japanese sushi restaurant in ktown la. The owner seems very knowledgeable and quite kind, definitely worth it to check this place out!! 10/10

    I have been coming here pretty often for dinner but am only now getting around to writing a review. I wanted to keep this amazing place a secret to myself but I had to let my fellow Yelpers know about this place. Since new ownership took over in January 2025, Kabukicho has been lighting it up. The fish is fresh and the staff are on point. They even started lunch service. The lunch menu is plentiful and reasonably priced. The raw fish bibimbap is the best in Ktown and only $15 that I ended up getting two Definitely hit them up if you are in the mood for something else other than Korean barbeque.

    I go here often, (in person) but last night my dad brought the food togo for the first time and it did not disappoint again! the fish was so fresh, i usually don't get rolls but i couldn't get my hands off them. the plating was pretty too!!! usually when i order from restaurants, the presentation and effort lacks because they just food in styrofoam containers but this place went above and beyond.

    First let me explain, This place is Korean style raw fish restaurant Little different from Japanese style I believe this place is renovated from previous Shogun(?) I was here before but I actually like how they renovated Super clean, they have some private rooms, no doors but cute blinds with those puffer fish The food comes out non stop... So much food Its definitely worth the price This place is hidden in corner which kind of makes that vibe of hidden gem Servers are super kind. They constantly check up on you to see if you need anything Fish is super fresh, but for those who can't eat raw fish, they also have cooked style so not a huge problem. After all the train of food. You finish up with this spicy fish soup, ON POINT for finish Wakes you up from those alcohol you've been drinking with food. If you are a fish person, I definitely recommend. Thumbs up!

    The best sashimi place in K town! Sashimi was so fresh, not fishy at all. Portions were big. All the sides were very yummy. They give seafood spicy soup after the entire meal with some fries which is the final finale. Affordable, clean, top service. They have private seatings as well. Very affordable compared to the quality of sashimi and all the sides that they offer with the combo. My boyfriend and i ordered small sashimi but we were soo full after. Plus it is only $150!! 100% recommend this place if you want some good sashimi with affordable price. Definitely coming back when we crave sashimi!!

I've known that…read morespecific parking lot/strip mall to be a nightmare parking wise, so I bit the bullet and used the on-site valet. There is sometimes street parking but the availability is rough, it's tough to park, and even one of the meters we ended up at just didn't work. They only charge a $5 cash service charge though, which isn't bad. We were lucky to be seated right away, even in a packed restaurant. The restaurant has a surprisingly modern design, and is comfortable for as small as it is. We were quickly served their signature kimchis and barley rice. The kimchi, particularly the yeolmu (young summer radish) kimchi, has a unique flavor profile well suited to their food. We ordered 2 bowls of their plain kalgooksu, 1 bibim milmyun, and 1 tteokbokki. The food came out fairly quickly. The kalgooksu was as expected the star of the show. The anchovy broth brings a savory complexity that seems impossible for a soup made from just dried fish and a few other ingredients. It even has a rich, almost thick, quality to it that is surprising for a fish broth. Their noodles, the titular kalgooksu, have the signature irregularity and chew of knife cut noodles. I appreciate the vegetables that always come in kalgooksu, like potato, pumpkin, and zucchini, which offer an earthy heartiness to the light soup. My only complaint is that the potato is in huge irregular chunks, and is barely cooked, though I feel like I have had this issue with many of the kalgooksu bowls I've had over the years. The bibim milmyun was solid. I think that I prefer the texture and flavor of naengmyeon buckwheat noodles, but the milmyun, which are made with mostly wheat flour, still provide a satisfying chew. The sauce tasted bright and fresh, especially with a splash of added vinegar. It also came with a small side portion of spicy pork and some rice paper to wrap. The tteokbokki was the one let down of the meal. To be fair, I wasn't expecting much out of tteokbokki at all restaurant like this whose specialty is essentially the opposite. I ordered the tteokbokki as a "safe pick" for a picky eater in the group. It turned out to be a bit mediocre in our opinion, and that friend ended up enjoying their kalgooksu anyways. If you're looking to try this dish, it's definitely one of if not the best I've had in Southern California, so I'd totally recommend it. I'll also warn to steer clear of the Garden Grove restaurant of the same name and specialty. I think it's a disappointing mimicry of this place.

Meat after meat, I kept experiencing the same exact texture. It was the same exact rubbery chew, I initially tasted. Each and every piece was the same exact flavor. There was no peak, there was no pitfall. If you cook or grill, you know this is a red flag. Normally, consistency would be a good thing, a Master craftsman type experience, but this was NOT it. As go on, I get the sinking feeling, this can't be real meat. I lock in, the deeper I dig, each piece looks the same, broken apart the same, tastes the same, just various shapes. They can call me crazy for this one - I'll stand by it. Something is not right here. I'm not even going to throw it away. I'm going to study it for the next few days and post an updated review. Now, our Korean friends lament the loss of their favorite pork joint in the city. The Koreatown proper location is located in the Royal Plaza mini-mall, just a few blocks off bustling Wilshire. Discounted parking is available in a lot across the street from the Chevron gas station. From the street, the entrance is flanked by potted plants and an enclosed street-ery. I visited with some friends for a weeknight dinner, and about half of the tables were occupied. We shared a spread of grilled platters and sizzling soups. The meal began with a carafe of barley tea and a mostly standard spread of banchan. Across our food, the best dish was the signature Charbroiled Pork Spare Rib. The ribs were flavorful without feeling gamey, and the meat was complemented by sweet caramelized onions. The pork ribs handily outdid the good-not-great Charbroiled Beef Short Rib. Lastly, the Milt and Cod Rose with Vegetables stew was fishy and briny, appropriately flavored for the Korean palate. The service was appropriately attentive, although I would've appreciated more intentional refills of our banchan ramikens. The rib plates cost upward of $35 each, while the soup was just under $30. The portions were hearty; a single entree platter could reasonably feed 2 moderately hungry bellies. It's a shame to hear that Ham Ji Park has closed; I'm kicking myself for not trying their pork neck stew earlier.
