The food here is solid! They offer Japanese + Korean cuisine. Run by Korean people. The highlight was the Uni bowl that comes in the sea urchin shell. SO GOOD and so fresh. Honestly tasted wayyyy better than Crab House that is in the same strip mall. Their sides are simple, clean, and yummy. I like all the pickled items they serve. It's a good home-y restaurant that you can enjoy. I would come back to try more of their Korean sashimi items. read more

I am writing this review today and I was hesitating quite some time if I should do or not but decided to share what happened on last Saturday when I was there for lunch. I don't usually write bad reviews unless it is absolutely necessary, but here I go. I was there for lunch, and I was enjoying my meal. And I loved this place from last time. But while I was eating the meal, I was one of sushi man was picking and poking his tooth with bear finger... (grey hair older sushi guy in the middle) I could not believe my eyes what just happened in front of me. I was hoping he was going to wash his hands but sure enough he did not wash his hands and keep making sushi after he poked his tooth with his own fingers. I was way too disappointed and could not believe it. This is absurd and does not make sense. Why would you do that such thing? I am not exaggerating or lying, this is 100% true and true story. He does not have his work ethic and no basic manner, not only that this absolutely food safety violation and he should know what he should do while he prepares the food for his customers. The health department should check this place more often and see if there's any more food safety violation... they don't deserve my business this point. I lost all my appetite, and I could not enjoy or could not finish my meal after I saw what happened. Shame on you, you should read my review with your own eyes and should not do that again. Please note that I do not wish to have any kind of compensation or do not reach me out, that is not my intention at all anyway. And I am not sure if I would go back here again. That was so disturbing, and it was so not cool. You just ruined your own restaurant reputation and killing your business because of what you did. That was not thoughtful and not considerate at all. This was my first time ever having Korean-Japanese seafood and I was really impressed. If you like poké and bibimbap, I think this is a great place to check out. It seems like a more low key, if you know, you know restaurant that's frequented more by the locals. I got the Al Bap (fish egg bowl) and the Hwe Dup Bap (fresh fish bibimbap). I personally liked the Al Bap more because of all the different textures from the fish eggs, seaweed, radish and crab meat, and also how much sesame oil they used. Definitely would get this one again. The Hwe Dup Bap was good too, but I think it had too much sliced lettuce acting as fillers when comparing to the amount of fish and rice that's given. Unagi bowl: a good portion with enough unagi and rice. Pretty good Udon: not too special. Just a typical udon Assorted fish soup: also a good portion and flavorful The service was really good. We asked for more broth or hot water for the assorted fish soup and my grandmother thought it was a little too spicy and they were kind enough to recook it for her The parking is valet parking. read more

I've been here several times for dinner, and I guess for the most part it's been decent, but overall this restaurant can be best described as hit or miss. We ordered the Korean style sashimi "Live Fish" combo every time. The combo comes with a variety of Korean style seafood dishes and the portions are generous, but the sashimi was not very fresh the first time we came here, and the other times it ranged from good to just ok. For the unpredictable quality of the sashimi, I feel that like this place is definitely overpriced. Maybe we're just ordering the wrong thing here. The service was attentive and I would possibly come here again if I was desperate to avoid a wait, but we probably won't be back for a while. 3.5 stars... for some reason I can't bring myself to round down and select 3 stars. read more

My go to at a Japanese restaurant is a chirashi bowl so I had to try it here. The portion seemed pretty big when the food came out, but I was surprised that I was able to finish everything. They give you a ton of roe but the seasoning flavoring is lacking (yes. It's a mild dish but can still lack). The tang surprised me, it was delicious and a lot of fish that my mom and I shared and was plenty still. Overall, food was good. Had Hwe Dup Bap and it was as delicious as it used to be. Couldn't complain about price. Stopped by for dinner with my cousin and the place was relatively empty so got seated pretty quick. My cousin decided to order the hwe dup baap and I ordered the al baap since I love fish roe! I was shocked when the hwe dup baap came out because the sheer size of the bowl. There was tons of veggies in it that made it very fresh and refreshing tasting and they give you a bottle of their sauce so you can decide how spicy you'd like to make it. The al baap was good but I think next time I would go with the hwe dup baap because I loved all the crisp veggies in it. Seems authentic considering it's nearly impossible to order on your own unless you speak/read Korean or Japanese. The menus are complicated. I'm a purist with sushi so I will say the nigiri cuts are generous, they give you the extra side pieces to Otoro!! Our friend also ordered this amazing and MASSIVE Hwe Dup Bap a raw fish/salad/rice bowl which I wish I had gotten myself but like I said, was very difficult to get thru the menu.
