As a vegan, I don't typically eat at a lot of places where meat is the stand out of most dishes however, my girlfriends parents started going here and bringing me back the hummus. It's some of the best hummus I have had and I have traveled quite extensively all over the world. The person who helped me (who i think was the owner named Sid?) knows now that I am Vegan and recommended the pita that was vegan and went out of his way to make sure there was no cross contamination of any kind. Removed the sauces in the bag that weren't vegan and was super kind and made me feel comfortable. Now it's one of my favorite places to eat. I would highly recommend them. Half a star if I could. The service was very slow. Their "complete" double meat plate doesn't come with rice even though the menu states it does. Yes, there's an option to substitute or add more sides. But really? A complete meal without something so basic? Moreover, when you do add extra sides such as pita bread and hummus -- they give you four tiny pieces of bread. Rice doesn't cost that much to include in a meal that was originally advertised as a "complete meal." The entire meal for 2 people came out to be around $60...and they couldn't add 1 cup of rice to it. Went to Kabob Cafe just after Noon on a Monday. The place wasn't busy; there was a table of two and we were the only other party (two). The person taking the order was pleasant enough, took our order without issue. After we sat there were three other orders that came in after us. We waited more than 30 mins to get our (to go order) and only after realizing that all three of the parties received their food before us did I inquire about my order. Apparently, it was prepared and sitting in the table behind them. There was a women helping expedite orders but did bother to check the bagged to go food. We finally got our food without any apology. This said, my three star rating wasn't based on service. The three stars was strictly based on food taste and quality. The food wasn't bad by any means but it wasn't any better than anywhere else for a little less. I won't be going back but I wouldn't discourage anyone from trying it out themselves. After looking around for my new go-to Mediterranean/Persian place closer to where I live in Great Parks Neighborhood, at last I found it here in Kabob Cafe!!! I have to say the food is just phenomenal as I ordered the meat lovers plate with salad. Very fresh and well made and worth the price! Iman the guy at the front is so attentive and caring about the customers and is such a nice guy and hospitable. The restaurant itself is so clean too. I've been coming here for a little while now. I am very pleased with the freshness and taste. Sid and his son are very kind. I've been to a few others, and they don't beat this here. So I do go out of my way to make that 15-minute drive into Foothill ranch for this. It's worth it as far as quality. As far as cost, it's a little pricey. This place is so awesome. The food is really tasty, portions are good, and the people that work here are super nice. We always get the gyro wrap in pita with spicy garlic sauce and 4 oz of meat. This wrap comes loaded! It has pickles, onions, lettuce, tomatoes, garlic sauce, a ton of meat, and all nestled into a warm fluffy pita. There have been times where the pita was a bit dry and probably old though. The meat however is always juicy, tender, and flavorful. So, I haven't had time to sit down with my brother and have a nice meal and zone out. Now that I had time, I wanted to have very good Kabob. Specifically koobideh. I'm hyper picky when it comes to this, my mom is a true Wizard when it comes to Persian food. Plus, I group in the extension of Iran called South Orange County, aka Tehran. I wanted to go somewhere else, literally shaking from hunger my brother says, "Trust me". So we go inland to Kabob Cafe. He just smiles. I allow him to oder. He gets a koobideh wrap, scewer of shimp, and a rack of lamb chops. I'm thinking in my head why did I agree to this. First bite, baffled at how a little spot like this can tenderize and Marinate their meats to this level. I ordered 2 beef and lamb gyro plates and 1 basket of fries for take out and they were packaged very nicely. It looks like a decent amount of food in pictures but its way more filling than expected! The rice was soft and fluffy, the meat was tender and flavorful and not greasy. The owner was so nice when I picked up my order and suggested I try their kabobs next time and I'm definitely going to! I wish they opened earlier so I could have been eating this a long time ago~ Parking is plenty since it's in a shared plaza with multiple restaurants and the theater. If I could give negative stars I would. We support small businesses and make a point of spending money with them over big chains whenever possible. I made the mistake of recommending this place to out-of-town friends, and the only good news is, that none of us will ever make that mistake again. Food is made by people and people make mistakes, so quality can be hit or miss. When it is a miss, most business owners welcome honest feedback and a chance to fix the problem. Not so here. We went there over Memorial Day weekend. The basic ground beef kabobs were tough, chewy, and rancid. Inedible. We told the guy at the counter and he exploded on us, flat out saying he "has enough customers already" and to not come back if we don't like it. We weren't being rude, but the extremely angry response to the feedback was off-putting. He threw a fit and literally told us to go complain online! Like what? With Caspian and Bravo Avo nearby, it's laughable that he thinks his overpriced hole in the wall is indispensable. The bottom line is, even if the food was delicious and high quality (it wasn't), the prices and attitude were entirely unacceptable. But zero out of three? Total deal breaker. read more

I'm so sad I didn't take photos before my family devoured it all. I have tried all the local Persian spots, and price wise, this cannot be beat. Their flavor is on point too! We tried both kinda of their chicken kabobs and the sirloin kabobs. The kabobs are flavorful, juicy, and I placed an order in person, was out the door ten minutes later! My kids also loved it.
