So glad we finally came to try this Filipino joint! I haven't had a lot of Filipino food, only ones I have tried were in the city. Compared to the city Filipino restaurants, I have to say I felt the authenticity in the food at Kabayan Grill. Their food tasted more homey, less salty and less greasy as compared to the other Filipino food I've had. Both my sons really liked the food kept saying "mommy the food is so good!" My husband was craving soup and the bulalo soup hit the spot. It was delicious, hearty, meaty, loaded with vegetables, just everything you can ask for in the perfect soup. The only complaint I have is the place is kind of cold. It's more of a take out place with 5-6 tables/booths so they're probably not heated as thoroughly to accommodate sit down customers.

Thought the small building was cute, and I liked the arch windows. Has it's own parking lot. Realized it was partly a store bec saw "walis tambo" and "tingting" (brooms) before we even entered. Pretty tight inside. Tables were back to back, side to side, with just enough space to walk through. Definitely not wheelchair accessible. Food can be ordered from the menu (which has similar layout as other Kabayans) or pick from the assortment of prepared food (turo-turo) which we did. Combo prices seemed ok - but food was mostly meh 2.5 rating. Bistek was fine, tender beef. Mongo was watery, though tasted ok. Laing was salty. Pork bbq was dry and had some chewy pieces. Didn't like the texture of the sago in the Sago drink, which was forgotten and had to ask for it- price is $1 more than on the menu, so not sure how accurate the menu is. Some pre-packaged baked goods/grocery items. A couple of the dining tables were filled with some. Spacious restroom in the back, via a tight hallway which had store items on one side. Service was good.

What a delicious and cozy spot! I was recommended this spot while I was in the area and this is definitely going into my saved collections for Long Island! There were so many foods I wanted to try but ultimately went with the Bulalo and barbecue pork belly skewers. I did end up buying some pandan to take home as well and I wish I had bought more. The Bulalo came in this huge pot with a giant bone marrow in it and even with 2 people, we could not finish it all. Best part was that it was only $25 for such a large portion. The broth was amazing and there was so much marrow. Usually, most restaurants don't give much marrow but this place was very generous with it. The next time I come here, I definitely want to try their other dishes and take some more of their baked goods home!

So nice to have some filipino food out on the island instead of having to travel into woodside queens. The quantity and quality of food was decent. The pork from the sinigang could have been less fatty but not the end of the world. The grilled pork was delicious especially paired with the vinegar. The ice cream from the halo halo came a bit melted but still a good portion. It really hit the spot. there are a couple of tables to sit but the place is very small. It was nice that they were open for early dinner on Sunday. It seems like they have a bunch of food ready to go like a buffet at the counter and a mix of a grocery store with snacks and dessert.

I came across this place recently and it's crazy cause I remember this place being a Taco Bell a few years ago. It's nice that there are 2 Filipino restaurants right down the street from each other in East Meadow. Back in the day, there were none. I walked by here recently and saw they were advertising combo specials so I decided to grab lunch here on a weekday. Inside, you'll see all types of good stuff behind the counter including some tasty looking meat skewers. They have a decent amount of seating so it's a fine place to eat in. So I saw they were advertising a $7 combo of 1 dish + rice. So I picked a beef dish (I think it was beef tapa?) thinking it was going to be $7 but it was $2 extra cause it was beef. I thought this should have been communicated more clearly as their sign is hand written and not too clear for someone who isn't immediately familiar with what they have. FYI they had a cooler with lemon water for customers to take so that was great. My meal came out to $9.23 with tax included. So I sat down to eat and it didn't seem like that much food. They put the beef in a small paper container and it came with two smallish scoops of rice. The beef was juicy, had good flavor, and was very oily. I thought it was pretty solid, but there wasn't too much of it in that small cup. The rice was rice, nothing special. So the food was pretty alright but my meal was kind of one dimensional. Having some vegetables in the meal or an egg or something would've been nice to balance it out. All in all, I wasn't too impressed with my experience at Kabayan Grill.

I will always stop by here if I need quick breakfast/lunch when I'm going to shop in Long Island. They have so many choices and can get a combo ( 2 dishes and 1 rice) for cheap. They even had Filipino desserts and sweets. The staff is very nice. 1 star is lacking because the food is good but some are too oily but if you want you're Filipino fix, go to Kabayan! I usually get pork BBQ and bangus. Lumpia Shanghai is also very good!

LOVE THIS PLACE! so happy to have Filipino food in East meadow. I usually travel to woodside to get any type of Filipino food so I'm really glad that there is one around me. Everything I ordered today was made upon ordering. They also have a buffet counter with other food, but they also take orders and can make them for you while you wait. I called ahead and ordered Crispy Pata, fresh lumpia, pancit bihon, bisteak, adobong baboy, and pork bbq.i ordered two sides of white rice with it as well. EVERYTHING i mean everything came out delicious, so flavorful, and tasted so fresh. They also have a little store in the restaurant where you can buy Filipino treats, snacks, icecream, frozen food like lumpia or longanisa. They also had freshly made melon drinks, and desserts like kutsinta and puto. Definitely reccomend this place!

Just another pancit take out dinner. Price is definitely affordable. People are friendly and interested in their customers. The place is clean and cozy with a true Filipino hospitality. I'm a regular customer here.

SCAMMED!! Don't waste your money!! Subtotal of dine in was supposed to be $54 but the total came out to $68!!! When I brought it up with the one in charge he was using excuses that it's an "old menu" and prices weren't updated. Then proceeded to say it was because of tax after I still insisted that he's over charging me and wouldn't admit he's wrong. No tax has an extra $14 added onto the amount on top of the $5 tax already on the receipt! Unbelievable. Owner proceeded to ridicule me and ask, "didn't you learn that in school?". Even before that he was serving us in such a rude tone and scolding us. Horrible service, this business does not do honest work and he must not live an honest life. Sad

This place is one of our go to places in Long Island. Place is pretty decent for a quick grab and go ulam spot. My wife sometimes finds the food a bit too sweet though. But I think it fine. Decent price and I like that they have a small grocery inside for your basic suka and Tito needs .. One thing though, get ready to smell like food even if you're only inside for a few minutes. Maybe needs better ventilation? Not really sure! But yeah. I fully support their other locations as welll.

I don't know if that's true but I really like the food put out by the owner & her hubbylish. The Pork Sisig is good but different from what I'm used to. The flavor is there, just not the odds & ends if you know what I mean. I think it's just pork belly nothing from the head which is why I love it. But I'm a weirdo who loves innards & other bits & pieces in a world of non adventurous eaters. So it won't matter to anyone else. The flavor is delicious! But my favorite dish they make is the Beef or Chicken Pastel. It is so delicious! Tender pieces of chicken in a creamy sauce that also permeates the vegetables. Absolutely divine! Get it if they have it that day. You won't regret it. Have anything with the garlic rice. As a matter of fact, get garlic rice with the garlic rice. It's that good. And get the Pork with Eggplant. Ok get everything! I'm done! It's all delicious. 3-8-2026

I started my visit with a Halo Halo, (generously treated to me by Ysa, the lovely owner, as an "apology" for the now-fixed store hours mix-up)....sweetest treat in the land and one of the best ones I've ever tasted....that put an immediate smile on my face and instantly convinced me that I was in for a great meal. I ordered Shanghai rolls (a personal favorite and these were crispy and tasty filled with pork), Pancit Bihon Noodles (tasty with chicken and shrimp), Chicken Adobo (literally some of the best I've had, with onions in that yummy brown sauce over rice), Lechon Kawali (crispy and VERY flavorful), Pork BBQ on skewers (tender and sooooo good), and then a Kare-Kare that I was promised would not disappoint (and they were correct...the tender oxtail was perfect in delicious peanut sauce, again it made my rice so happy). So very authentic and so much love put into the cooking with good ingredients that I will certainly return again... There's also a very cute and well stocked Asian grocery there, just in case you were wondering....well worth a trip there for many reasons, the lovely owner being among them. Highly recommended if you enjoy this kind of food or want to discover that you do and didn't even know it.
