So when we got there it was really nice we went through a rooftop elevator there was parking right beside the entrance so very convenient. So it was self seating and it took about 20 minutes for the server to reach us, but poor dude was there alone i felt so bad. So he leaves our menus off then takes another 20 minutes to come take our order so in that time we try to tell him everything we want to order and the drinks were good, we just ordered wine. The views are great but the area wasn't the best, there was a bunch of people in four wheelers driving on the streets in large groups making a ton of noise. But honestly it was pretty cool to see it there were other cars helping them get through the traffic but i guess i just didn't like the noise. They were very pretty bikes but i guess since we are outside street noises are going to happen

If you take anything from this review, just know that you are really coming here for the view and not much else. As long as that's your expectation, you'll leave happy. If you want more, I'm not sure this is where you get it. My companion had been here before, but it was my first time. The hostess was super sweet and friendly. It's a really cute setup on the 20th floor with multiple kinds of seating arrangements. Initially we were seated at a table for 2 which would have been service by a waitress. We eventually moved to bar table near the railing so we could see the skyline. There, you have to go to the bar to order. They also have VIP Kabanas you can reserve for a fee + minimum spend. The seat covers looked dirty, so I'm not sure it's worth paying to be seated at them. We had 3 rounds of drinks. I couldn't get the first drink I wanted because they were out of coconut milk. I settled for a miami vice and though it was drinkable, it tasted like straight up peach instead of strawberry & pina colada. I thought maybe I was tripping, but my companion tasted it and confirmed. Between us, we tried that, the cucumber refresher, the berry mojito, and the strawberry mint mocow mule. Nothing was a wow. Towards the end of the night, the bartender said they weren't making anymore cocktails and instead offered long islands...Weird but, ok. They also asked if we wanted the tab open, which we did but somehow it kept getting closed anyway which means credit card statements with a mess of random charges. The roof was pretty filled up and it was a more mature, 30+ crowd. It was Latin night and I learned from another guest that there were bachata lessons prior to the DJ coming on. Aside from like 3-4 couples, not many people were dancing. But like I said- you're not going for the drinks really. You're not going for the service. (And from what I've read in other reviews- you're likely not going for the food either!) The place has a lot of potential, it's just not being ran smoothly. I'd return for a different themed party to see what the crowd is giving.

I was pleasantly surprised! It's definitely a bit expensive for the area, but my drink (Passion Martini) was well balanced and yummy, and the fries were quite good. I got in during the early evening before it got too crowded, and the service was pretty fast. I gather that it gets much more clubby as the night goes on, but if you're not into that, go before 8-ish and you should be fine.

I was visited with a birthday dinner at kabana rooftop ! Y'all this place was breathtaking. Definitely for the grown and sexy lol . They have two bars , one inside and one outside . We went there mid day so the outside bar was not open but that's was fine because I don't drink anyways lol . The services were nice and helpful . They had live musicians playing and the scenery was phenomenal. They also had a lot of seating areas inside and out . We ordered the lamb chops and it came with Mash potatoes and asparagus. Bacon cheese burger with fries and for the appetizer we order the pretzel bites with queso cheese. The food came out super fast !! The appetizer was okay . To be honest it did not pair well together due to all the salt but the pretzels by it self was nice and fluffy, warm and not dry at all . The cheese was also good , had a little kick to it . The burger was good and fries was okay . The lamb chops was the star of the day , very seasoned . This is a nice get away just for the vibes alone ! I made a reservation for a group of 6 of us. The website seemed like there were all these rules about reservations and cancellations which makes sense but was really confusing when we showed up and they seated us but never asked for my name, just if I had a reservation. Didn't seem like the most organized situation as they almost didn't have room for us even though we had a reservation. The views are great, but the service was very slow. My drink was good but my friends drinks were all a little off from what they ordered.I got the California flatbread, it was good but not great. My friends got the tacos and didn't really like them. We stayed there a very long time because it too forever for anything to come out. Nice to be on the roof but overall the service, food, and drinks were average.

Rooftop season is still in SZN | : KABANA Rooftop is an absolute vibe in the sky! (@kabanarooftop) Aside from the breath taking views, the food and cocktails were delicious! I stepped a bit outside of my comfort zone and tried the Don Paloma - not my fav, but if you like stronger drinks def try it! My favorite drinks were the Passion Martini, Strawberry Mint Orange Crush, and then the berry mojito. The food was soooo good! I went last Sunday and til this day I think about those lamb chops which were seasoned and cooked to perfection (10/10) The Maryland style crab cakes were so good too I just wish there were bigger or gave you one more little one that's the only reason why I gave it a cool 9.5. You guys def have to try them out and shoot - let me know and I might just come vibe out with you! Lol - IG/TIKTOK: @KEELASHAYTV * * * .: 700 E Main Street 20th Floor Richmond, VA 23219

I think this place is super overrated. You really are paying for the experience. Between their limited menu, food is mediocre at best, & service is not that great, I wouldn't revisit based on yesterday. I'm assuming their menus are seasonal because not one thing I saw on their photos was on the menu. Food We ordered the wings & scallops. Just a fyi the wings are tossed in buffalo sauce. That is absolutely NOT a Thai chili sauce. The wings were ok. The scallops lacked flavor. I ordered the steak with mixed veggies. I ordered med well & it's was an over cooked well done. I then sent it back & the second one was perfect. Also the lamb chops according to husband were the best he had ever had. There was no sweet tea. No option for desserts. Presentation was great. But food was maybe a 4. The view was absolutely amazing. I'm sure it's nothing like this in Richmond. But it's pretty amazing.

Beautiful city views! Great drinks and service! Fun atmosphere. If you're ever in the area definitely stop by!

Smh. Cold and nasty. Bottom less brunch? You should be paying me to eat this.

I'm talking about it I could give it zero stars I would. Beyonddddddddd trash. Never ever ever ever ever again. Just paid $90 for "bottomless brunch" that they need to be paying ME to eat this cold and nasty food. The guy serving you wears no gloves. Wiping dirty tables with the napkins that the people just used. I'm literally sick to my stomach. The concept is great. Nice view of the city if you look beyond the dirty couches with nasty pink sheets on the cushions. I'm pissed.

Unfortunately, date night at this restaurant was a disaster. The two redeeming qualities of the place are the view from the rooftop and the strength of the drinks. It's clearly a popular spot. But as far as the service and the food go, it's a total dud. We ordered the bang bang shrimp, chicken sandwich, and Cajun pasta. The shrimp was great, but there isn't anything else nice I can say. Don't get me wrong, I attempted to eat the pasta, pictured here looking like it's already been eaten by someone else and then returned to the plate. Who serves pasta like this? It's utterly unrecognizable and swimming in grease! And took so long to arrive I wish we had left and eaten elsewhere. The shrimp (meant as an appetizer) arrived so long after we had our meals that they removed it from the check. I wouldn't return for food, but if you just want a drink, check it out.

They offer a variety of sauces and flavors that really elevate the seafood and make the experience feel unique and interactive. It was such a fun meal to share, comparing each bite and talking through all the different flavors. The service was excellent. Our waitress was knowledgeable about everything we ordered and made great recommendations. The atmosphere is just as impressive. The decor is simple but thoughtfully elevated, and sitting at the bar area feels like you have stepped out of Richmond and into somewhere like New York City. I also love following Lillian on social media to keep up with their latest specials. I would highly recommend it to anyone who loves seafood.

Hats off to the staff at Lillian who continue to be wonderful, but now that they have scrapped…read moretheir dollar oyster lunch specials, the food has absolutely nothing to offer. Like too many restaurants in the Scott's Addition area, this is seafood cooked without finesse and then absolutely brutalized with absurd amounts of palate fatiguing, brash, loud flavors. Every item on the menu endeavors to conceal mediocrity in the quality and handling of the ingredients with explosive, overwhelming additives meant to shock you into submission. Things like black garlic and chili oil, raw garlic, sesame seed oil, and punishing heat are inescapable on the menu, which really says to me loud and clear "we do not understand the appeal of seafood, and might have a fundamental misunderstanding about good food in general." I don't exaggerate when I say these dishes would be improved (setting aside things like inability to properly cook octopus) by scaling back the flavors to 5-10% the loudness level they are currently at, to let the ingredients speak, and to make the dining experience less of a punishing marathon with no relief. I have had much subtler and more skillfully balanced dishes at Indian and Thai restaurants, cuisines known for strong flavor profiles. I'm through listening to these Richmond restaurants trying to excuse simply bad food by claiming "that's the nature of the cuisine." In this case, Lillian claims that dishes characterized by these cacophonous competing flavors is "South American." No it isn't - the person conceptualizing the dishes is just a bad chef who doesn't know what he's doing, and at the prices Lillian charges, that's inexcusable. Drowning every dish in flavors that overwhelm the palate is not a way to respect your ingredients or your diner, and only communicates youth and insecurity. Anyone who's eaten widely and knows their ingredients will rightly feel assaulted and insulted by this overpriced, unskilled fare. To anyone who decides to go anyway: Good luck with the digestive distress, and with the taste that will still be left over in your mouth the next morning, no matter how much you brush your teeth.

To get in, you must know the password or tell the host a joke that makes him laugh. We were escorted in and quickly noticed that this was more than a speakeasy-it was a full restaurant. He asked for the password and we, unprepared, had to tell him a joke or an interesting fact. Luckily, my partner had one on hand. The atmosphere was lovely, very reminiscent of a 1920s speakeasy, or at least what you'd imagine it to be like. Our server came by within a few minutes of us being seated. She lacked enthusiasm, unlike the host, unfortunately. Her service turned out to be lackluster as well. We ordered the chicken pot pie and the filet mignon with asparagus. For drinks, the Grape Gatsby and Maine root beer. The food, like our server, lacked appeal. The saving grace was the host and the atmosphere. The view was lovely and the intimacy of the setting was a welcome experience. For dessert we ordered the bread pudding, and it was tasty, though nothing special. The burned odor that we smelled prior to its arrival turned out to be the bread. I can recommend Grandstaff and Stein as an experience, but you should not expect much in the way of culinary delights or exemplary service. We probably won't be back, but if you've never been, it's worth trying at least once.
