I have eaten here twice in the last 2 weeks and both visits were good! On the first visit I ordered butter chicken, and 1 Chili, onion kulcha. A kulcha is a Pakistani bread that is round in shape, puffy edges and thinner in the middle. This was off the regular menu so the dishes are fresh and hot. Pull apart and dip that kulcha in the very tasty butter chicken and its OH SO nice! I noticed the sign for a $6.99 buffet Mon-Thurs, higher on FRI SAT and SUN. I thought $6.99...wow, sounds like a deal, so went back for that. Its not as large as most Indo/Paki buffets, but the price is lower accordingly so you get a good deal still for what you pay. They had a ground beef dish, grilled chicken pieces with no bones, and a biryani which I think was chicken but might have been goat. There was 2 lentil dishes and one that I am guessing was smashed beans, the color of pinto beans loaded with nice spices. I dont know the name of that but it was really good. Yeah Id do the buffet again, but I also want to try more dishes with a fresh kulcha on the side. The butter chicken was $7.99 and the kulcha $2.50. The butter chicken is served in a nice copper pot with brass handles. Oh one more thing. I had the best gulab jamun EVER from the $6.99 buffet. They were very large, hot, tasty and I shouldnt be eating them! But I only ate one as I have to watch sugars. My guess is they were just fresh as can be as he just set them down, still warm. Kind of like getting a hot donut I guess, but they would probably still be good later on too. Photo posted. The whole wall one one side is brightly painted with famous landmarks of Lahore, and the big Mosque of Islamabad. Oh, cant forget a big Pakistani green and white flag too. I was there on a Sunday night and it was busy. I went at 12 noon midweek for the buffet at 12 noon and they were still setting up and I was the first one. I'll be back to try more dishes!

I come here often because use they have a great buffet special. Lunch special during the week is $6 and weekends $8. It's not a huge selection but enough items to leave on a full stomach. Customer service is not the greatest. Typically you have to wait at the counter for someone to greet you and pay. It's all self serve and no one lets you know how to get drinks. However the food is delicious, fresh, hot and fully stocked. It's my fave go to since down the street.

Great food! Fresh and hot off the grill. Not too hot and spicy. Good for lunch or dinner. They have meat and vegetarian options. Wait time for food wasn't very long and they brought it to me table.

You can find Kabob Hut at 880 Indian Trail Rd NW, Lilburn Georgia 30057 between the intersections of Dickens Rd and Burns Rd. This restaurant is in a small shopping center that also features Murray's In a Hurry. It's a bit hard to see as the "L" shaped shopping center mostly faces Burns Rd - you'll probably turn there and then into the lower part of the parking lot. I don't remember who told me about this place - I believe it was one of my Indian friends, but having some time and being in the area, I decided to drop in one sleepy weekend afternoon. Kabob Hut is a small restaurant where you order at the counter and after some time (pretty much everything is cooked to order) the food is delivered to your table. I looked over the menu, which features mostly foods cooked over open flame or curries. Most of the items I've tried at other Pakastani restaurants so I have some familiarity with the cuisine (which is very similar to Indian if a bit oilier and of course the Muslim culture allows beef). I was looking for something that would provide the most variety so I choose the Kabob Platter (at $10.99) and also ordered a Bullet Naan (the flat bread is usually mixed with green chilies and baked in a tandoor oven). I then found a table and waited for about 15 minutes. In the meanwhile I was delivered a disposable plate with fork/spoon, a small plate of lettuce and onions, a couple of chutney/masala containers and a pitcher of cold water with a cup. This strangely reminded me quite a bit of eating in the canteens in India (sort of the building's cafeteria which usually has some super inexpensive food available served on disposable plates) When the food hit the table my eyes bugged - tons of food on this plate. I believe there was Green Boti, Seek Kabob and Tika Boti. Also was this beautiful naan. There was so much food I was only able to eat about half of it - the rest came home with me and became my lunch the following day. All the food was just delicious and I would recommend this dish to anyone coming here for the first time - it can easily feed two people. This is the best Pakistani food I've found in Atlanta - but then again I didn't try the curries so if you're going to come here I can only vouch for the kabobs which are fantastic. I hope to make it hear again soon with a larger group so we can sample more - stay tuned. (also posted to my food blog)

Bright interiors with some nice art work pieces on the walls…read more A south Indian inspired cuisine (mostly from Kerala and Tamilnadu). Nice spice aroma swiftly linger in air as you enter the restaurant. Service is impeccable. The Chicken Kondattam is crispy chicken with lots of flavor. The Malabar shrimp biryani is top notch in taste with succulent shrimp. Will visit again to savor the other authentic dishes. The dishes are little pricier compared to other restaurants.

We asked several questions about the menu, including whether or not we could get a paneer tikka masala dish (It wasn't on the menu (at the time) but it was listed on their site). They obliged and were able to make it. However, the food took a good while to come out. We understand that the food is probably prepared fresh but we were waiting for quite a bit, to the point where the other two members of my party had made note of it as well. There were not many people there either since this was on a weeknight. The food, in my opinion was okay. Being Indian myself, I had more of a strict criteria compared to the other two members of my party, who both said the food was enjoyable. My girlfriend never asked for the food to be spicy as she can't handle spice and she struggled to get the eggplant curry down. Found some thai chili in there so that explains it. I however, asked it to be super spicy and it was very lackluster. The prices are a little more expensive than other alternatives and the amount of food was also a bit lacking as well. What you're paying for is more of a dine-in experience than the actual value of the food itself in my opinion. I'd be fine to come and try it again if others are searching for a sit-down Indian spot nearby but I wouldn't be the first to suggest it. Buffet prices are exorbitant - I wouldn't ever willingly come in to pay so much for a buffet where other alternatives are far cheaper. All in all, if you're looking for a new spot to check out and you love Indian food, you'll probably love the place. But the combination of the value, portion sizes, and a few inconsistencies left me wanting more.

I wanted to leave a hearty review for Shahi Grill simply because this place deserves it. I am a…read morefood critic at heart and have had my share of very tasty experiences. And whenever I try a new Indian place, I have high hopes that it will be a knockout. I will say - although their plastic serving utensils and dinnerware made us skeptical, seeing other Indo-Pak's dining there made us hopeful that we had possibly found a gem. Shahi Grill was a total surprise and I can't wait to share what we had! Chicken Samosas - Crunchy and flavorful. Gone in 60 seconds. Chicken Corn Soup - A bit too peppery for me, but it was still tasty. My Dad gobbled it up. Garlic Naan - Soft, flavorful, and the perfect chew. You get a good sized portion for the price too, so definitely order some for your meal. Butter Chicken - I was about to order the Tikki Masala, but the sweet lady taking our order told me that there's a "medium" spice level to it. Well, unfortunately, medium spice scares the ba-jesus out of me, so I went with her suggestion, the Butter Chicken. What a win! Not spicy at all, just TONS of flavor! My peeps thought that mine was the best of the 3 entrees. They scooped their Naan into the Butter Chicken sauce and moaned with every bite. There wasn't a drop left of it in the container. Open Fire Grill Chicken Boti - Cooked perfectly, delicious flavor, and so moist. My dad got this served over saffron rice. He loved it! Shahi Malai Chicken - This chicken was some of the most tender and flavorful chicken I've had in a whiiiiiiiiiiiiile. If I could beg the chef for this marinade recipe, I would....and I'd make it week after week. I think the flavor of this was my personal favorite. I'm still burping it up, and loving it. haha There's NO doubt that we'll be ordering from here again. So grateful this is right around the corner from us. This was the neighborhood gem we were looking for. THANK YOU to the chefs back there in the kitchen. Please add some vegetables to your menu if you're reading this, but other than that - don't change a thing! A++
