Oops!!! I didn't leave a review last year. We were here April 2,2025 for our first visit with the same group as today. Last year we ordered the kabab plates and it was way too much food. It was ok, I had the beef, but I failed to cut it up till half way through and it was hard to eat. Half way through I started cutting up the meat and it tasted so much better and easy to eat. Not so tough and awkward. Today March 28, 2026 is our 2nd visit. We arrived first in the party of 6. They led us to the first table. Two booth seats and a table with 4 chairs. Perfect. Next they have us menus and took our drink orders. As it turns out it was waters for 5 of us and 1 lemonade. As people arrived they individually took out drink orders. Once we got settled they took out orders. I ordered the shawarma, a wrap with tri tip, lettuce, tomato, parsley, tahini sauce. Wrapped in a pocket bread. It comes with: salad, rice, or fries. I got the salad. was delicious. I loved their dressing. The shawarma was delicious. I love how small they cut up the meat and the flavoring. The wait staff was very attentive and checked back with us a few times. Refilling waters, asking us if we wanted boxes. She even came with the boxes as she asked us so all she had to do was pass them out. The restaurant is bright and clean, thought a little cool. They turned off the fans for us and it was perfect. She said it gets warm during the rush. We were first in the restaurant for lunch. 11:30am in a Saturday is early. I look forward to coming back next year when we're back in town. read more

Ordered 7 dinners to go on Saturday. Lady assured me no pilaf on two orders and sub veges for $2 more. Didn't happen! But based on kind promises I left a GOOD tip. Kefta kebabs on 3 meals grossly overcooked and dried out. Spicy chicken sauce on two meals had little flavor. Have eaten several times in house but will not be back because of their lousy attitude. We went to lunch here with some friends and their family this past weekend. It's a tiny little place on the corner of Merced Street. If you blink you might miss it... So keep your eyes open! You don't want to miss out because All the food here is delicious! We've been to the restaurant in Fresno and, with the exception of having the fresh baked pitas, everything tasted the same. Don't get me wrong, the pitas were great. They were nice and warm when they came to the table. They were not stiff and dry in any way (like the ones you get some restaurants we won't mention) If you like hummus and you like spicy you have to try their spicy hummus. It is the best!! Even though they were already pretty busy they had no problem serving our group of about 12. The service was great! I don't know what everyone had but I had the spicy chicken bowl with fattoush salad that comes with a nice serving of pilaf. My friend had the fattoush salad with spicy chicken. Someone else at the table had the Greek salad with spicy chicken. Not only were the salads delicious but they looked beautiful too. Our husbands had the combo and beef kebab dinners. A couple of the little ones had burgers with fries and they looked really good too! I'm a be honest the food here sucks compared to the one on nees. The server was a delight, but as I was eating the cook came out and ask me to stop talking to his server. As a paying customer I feel offended, and I ask the server if I offended them and they say no. Let's go back to the food, pita bread feels like they bought at the grocery store. Same with the kebab chicken. Beef kebab is the best choice here. My second choice be the lamb. They're no consistency with the food. My friend love going there so I been going there with him since 2019. Update the menu please......I always want lumajan pizza but they don't have it because they apparently don't have an oven. Lights need to be fix, tiles needs to be fix instead of cover with a rug. Nice homey sit down atmosphere here. The kebab was served more like fajitas than what I'd expect for kebab. The lamb was very flavorful. Beneath the kebab , was the rice pilaf that was cooked well. Definitely doesn't have the over the top butter taste that I appreciate since some places make it so greasy. All that was then drizzled with some sauce, could be garlic butter sauce. I tried the salad which wasn't too bad, wished it was a little more acidic on the vinaigrette but still liked it. The girls were friendly, but the meat was old and a little tough. I heard ownership might have changed and that might explain it. Or they got a new cook. They just need to serve only good fresh meat. Customers can tell the difference. It's in downtown Fowler and is very dark and uninviting at night. They need better lighting. Also on a cold night they had the fans blowing and many people were wearing coats in the restaurant. It's almost as if the cooks get hot in the kitchen so they keep the dining room cold. We ate half the combo shawarma priced at $24 plus $3 to split. Their meat isn't good enough to be priced that high. Overall I was disappointed after our first visit and most likely won't be back. Fry's were a four but the Gyro itself was a one. Not bad just no flavor. Not even sure if it had tzatziki on it if it did it has no flavor. Yummy lunch at Kabab City in Fowler. We had the hummus and falafel for an appetizer. They serve it with warm pita. It was a great appetizer. I had the Greek salad with chicken but without tomatoes. The salad was fresh and the chicken cooked perfectly. Great salad!! My dining guest had the chicken kabab lunch. She it was very good. We got there just before the lunch rush. So we were lucky.
