Pampered Pets Hawaii - Tabioca

After a lot of research I found Pampered Pets recommended from someone and I thought I would look…read moreinto it. The price is very reasonable and the pets are allowed to roam all day which I like so that they are not cooped up in kennels for part of the day. My dog is a rescue dog, and he is very shy and I had not had him long when I needed to board him, and I found Deirdre at pampered pets and I cannot say enough good things about her. She is professional, courteous and treats your pets as if they were her own. She goes above and beyond. She kept me updated while I was away with pictures and how he was doing. I cannot recommend pampered pets enough. The office contact is quick and easy, and the price is so reasonable for what you get compared to doggy daycare places on the island. The pets at pampered pets will be in small groups and get the love and care that they deserve. Any time I go out of town, I will use pampered pets/ Deirdre.

Each time we came back from vacation in the past, he was depressed and would hide for 1-2 weeks. When we picked up our baby from Deirdre - he was so cheerful and happy! He had been housed with a cockatiel for company the entire time. He wasn't sad or depressed at all - there was no adjustment period. He seemed eager to tell us all about his new friend and all his good experiences. It was obvious they took excellent care of him and made him feel taken care of and safe. They sent us photo updates on him periodically. We will most definitely be bringing him back to pampered pets each time we go on vacation from now on!

Well trained and Ohana kine style Staff that can handle anything. They really get to know you and your darling. The place is clean, they adhere to health clearance protocols, first aide, grooming and socialization. I book Buddy for 2 hours daycare to overnight boarding. We all deserve some time off or have to go places where our fur kids aren't allowed. So bring them here. They'll love it. You'll love it. Special shout to Owner Lee Ann. Be proud of your Staff.. I learned so much about my dogs just from the original assessment. I now take my dogs there for day care, grooming and boarding. The dogs were reactive to other dogs before I started taking them and the socialization with other dogs and handlers has helped them so much. Now they are protective, not reactive, which is what I want. All the staff are wonderful and make the transfer easy and most importantly the dogs jump in the car to go and are happy when we get there. One of my dogs I had to manhandle to get in the car previously. Thats not easy with a muscled 45 pound dog!

The Vet, Dr Pang, had poor bedside manner. Came in already dismissive of my complaints for my dog. She wasn't prepared when she came in the room. As if she didn't know why I was there. Said she couldn't examine my dogs nostrils because my dog is excited and keeps moving. Said we needed to sedate my dog. Didn't have any light or anything to look at my dogs nose. Some questions/comments she made that were annoying: "Are you sure she's five months old, she seems older cause she's big" "How did you look in your dogs nose?" "She's not sneezing now" "She seems to be breathing normal" (her first time meeting my dog, doesn't know my dog is not a mouth breather) "Did you hear reverse sneezing" (as if i know what that is) I had to get on the floor to help hold my dog so she would look at both nostrils or try to with a light. Also theres an exam table not sure why we're on the floor. She offered very little info into what she thought was going on with my dog. Only discussed further when i kept asking questions. She prescribed a steroid taper but on the bottle the instructions were incorrect did not indicate a taper. Did not appreciate her bedside manner and lack of trying to look at my dog for the issue i brought her in for. Then as i was leaving i got blocked in to the small parking lot by an employee that parked her truck with the bed blocking the way out. That employee came out and saw me unable to leave but waited till i asked her to move the truck to move it. Gets two stars because of the front staff.

I just have to give a huge shout out to Michelle and Dogtown Bakery!...we had planned a bday party…read morefor our pups since it was their first bday with us since we've adopted them, and we wanted to do something fun and special with them. Unfortunately, Hurricane Lala had different plans for that weekend. It wasn't super bad weather in Kailua the day of...but the power was out around town, and cell service also happened to be down, leaving us all without communication. I couldn't get a hold of the store or Michelle, and I decided to make my way over to the shop to see if she showed up, and if they had power at their place...and to let her know we would most likely have to reschedule due to the circumstances, and also not being able to get a hold of everyone. To my surprise, Michelle was there, just in case we showed up!.....like a true, dedicated, small business owner. We did not expect that by any means, considering the circumstances....but she went WAY out of her way when communication wasn't possible...her own house had some flooding, and she left all that just to show up "in case" we came by. Truly floored by her dedication and commitment to her customers and her business. Thankfully, we were able to reschedule for the following weekend, and had such a blast!...The space was perfect for all the pups and humans to socialize. Such a cute space on the other side!...couches, tables, benches, ball pit, TV's, AC, a cooler, etc...it had all the things you'd need for a successful get together. And they made the perfect cake for all the pups to enjoy! They all loved it lol. Thank you again, Michelle!! You're seriously the best!

Highly recommend checking this place out if you have a dog!

The Cat's Meow Inn - Hana is now asking for one of those memory foam beds here at home.

The Cat's Meow Inn truly is the Four Seasons for your feline loved one(s). I had never boarded my…read morefurbaby before and being somewhat of an overprotective mother had always preferred to have Hana stay at home with a trusted friend or family member rather than take her somewhere to be cared for while I traveled. But due to changing circumstances, I had to consider boarding recently. Sifting through the options on Oahu was daunting, but one choice stood out: The Cat's Meow Inn. From the very moment I inquired about boarding to even after my Hana was returned to me at the end of her cat staycation, Heather and Jamie of The Cat's Meow Inn showed me and Hana what superior service is. If you have never boarded your precious feline before and need to, The Cat's Meow Inn is the very best choice you can make! Read on for why. Heather is very thorough and her attention to detail in screening me and my cat was exemplary. Her process assured me that my pet would be entering and staying in only the most safe, clean, healthy, and supportive environment. The Cat's Meow Inn is the ONLY 24/7 cats only boarding operation, which put my mind at ease knowing that someone would be with my animal in the event of an emergency and also that my pet would not be traumatized by the presence of other four-legged species. (Let's face it, cats are the most singularly discerning of domesticated pets. Sometimes, even I wonder why she lets me stick around.) In addition to safety, sterility and round-the-clock security, Heather and Jamie do their utmost to provide a luxurious, spa-like experience for your pet. I received daily photos and text check-ins from Heather (all-included in the daily cost). Hana stayed in a private, spacious and cats-only environment on a memory foam cat bed (no cages!!) with bird and gecko TV, playtime on some really cool cat furniture, and was given lots of loving attention from Heather and Jamie. (I'm a little envious ...) Heather and Jamie also provided free pick-up and drop-off! I think Hana got a better vacation than I did! And all of this comes at the low fee of only $25/day, far below the other boarding facilities in Honolulu who offer less, have several restrictions, and charge a far heftier daily fee. I am now a firm supporter of cat boarding, but will only choose The Cat's Meow Inn. I am so grateful to Heather and Jamie for their amazing accommodations, high standards, and superior customer service and hospitality for Hana. I was really very stressed about how I was going to solve the care issue for my Hana and The Cat's Meow Inn took all of that stress away. If you are considering boarding, do not hesitate to book with them. You and your feline will be glad you did. If I could give them 10 stars, I would!

Extortion at its finest…read more No, Heather, I've never personally spoken to you, but my partner has--for hours. Apparently, you mistake paying clients for an open-mic audience to fill the void of your own social life. The only reason this isn't a zero-star review is because our cats came back completely fine both times, and your husband was actually pleasant. For professionalism, however, you get negative 4.7 billion stars. This goes far beyond the uncomfortably long hostage situations you disguise as "information verification." Back in March, we booked you for a month-long stay in June 2026. It was close to $2,000--not pocket change for us. So imagine our absolute bewilderment when, exactly two weeks before we were set to leave the country for a month, you asked us for a $1,500 loan. What a wild, unprecedented business model: soliciting a Paycheck Protection Program loan directly from your own patrons. We aren't here to keep your business afloat. I actually know exactly what the money was for, but here's a thought: maybe just raise your prices? Though, honestly, I find it hard to believe anyone is going to pay a premium to listen to you babble. After a long discussion, we decided we couldn't fund your personal requests. You assured us it wouldn't be an issue if we declined. That was after two separate phone calls begging for cash, during which you actually offered to "just run our card on file." You know, the emergency credit card you required us to leave with you. The sheer audacity to suggest violating our financial trust like that is staggering. My partner was understandably stressed as our departure grew near, but I gave you the benefit of the doubt because I try to trust people. Then came the barrage of six or seven texts still chasing the money. It was desperate, unhinged behavior. Predictably, exactly seven days before we left the island, you canceled our reservation. Fortunately for us, your behavior was so alarming that my partner had already canceled that credit card and scouted your competitors. One of them took us in last minute. If you want to run a business instead of a predatory text-thon, I suggest looking up the definition of boundaries.

Sabrina is truly so amazing!…read more I came to her wanting to train a Psychiatric Service Dog for myself and she was the most sweet and caring person. I could not have asked for a better experience with this whole process. Sabrina has always been so responsive and kind about my situation since I am a student financing the cost of a Service Dog on my own and she has been nothing but extremely flexible and understanding the entire way through. I got my baby Sugar Plum from her and she was raised with Sabrina. Since I started working with her, she has been such an angel and I am so lucky to have such a great dog who is always so attentive and well behaved. I have had virtually no issues with training my puppy with her help. But if I do, Sabrina is always right there to help me out! I canʻt count how many times that Iʻve asked Sabrina questions about raising my puppy or how to train or even what cage size I should get for her. Itʻs not just the training you get with her, sheʻs really there for any support which I have been so extremely grateful for. She knows her way with the dogs and I trust her with my puppy more than anyone else. I cannot recommend Sabrina and Balanced Obedience enough, and everyone I talk to knows it! If you are looking for trustworthy adoption, training, and/or boarding, this is it!

Balanced Obedience has truly been a dream come true! Sabrina is absolutely amazing…read more Before training, I couldn't even walk our dog because she pulled so hard. It wasn't just me--even our dog sitters struggled to walk her. She also greeted everyone by barking, whether they were coming into our home or we were visiting theirs. She sounded like a fierce guard dog... which is pretty funny considering she's a full-blooded Golden Retriever! The transformation has been incredible. Not only is she so much better behaved, but we've also learned how to communicate with her in a way we never knew before. The training didn't just change our dog--it changed our relationship with her. We can't recommend Balanced Obedience enough. If you're on the fence about investing in training, take the leap. It is worth every penny, and you'll be so glad you did!
