He has a great personality and a professional sense of humor plus explained the surgery thoroughly. He met with my husband and I before they took me back to surgery to answer any last minute questions. OrthoIndy and their staff were phenomenal from the check-in staff, nurses, surgery team and everyone we encountered. All were professional with smiles on their faces while being team players in all aspects of my care. The surgical option was a minor surgery and done under a local anesthesia. I know, that sounds scary but Dr. Vicar reassured me I'd only feel a pinch for a couple seconds. I trusted him even though the last trigger finger surgery I had was done under full anesthesia. I was wide awake and comfortable throughout the entire procedure and did not feel any pain. Dr. Vicar, and his team, was very calming and laid back during the surgery chatting with each other and myself. I was extremely pleased with the entire procedure and if needed, I'll return to him in the future. The post-op follow-up to remove my stitches was timely, friendly and I was in and out quickly. Great overall experience! Dr. Vicar repairs mainly hand, wrist and elbow injuries. Patients with carpal tunnel syndrome, fractures (hand & distal radius), tennis elbow, athletic with throwing injuries or those nasty fingertip injuries (i.e. car doors) are a few diagnosis he repairs. If it isn't an injury Dr. Vicar handles, he can refer you to one of the many different physicians within OrthoIndy. Very pleased and surprised the local did the job.
