A hyper efficient operation with hardly any waiting...everyone did their job with the utmost professionalism, care, and with good humor. I am not always easy to deal with...and strangely not everyone gets, or is appreciative of.....my humor. Everyone here did so with enthusiastic alacrity....and were parrying quite well with their own snarky remarks. Dr. Shelbourne examined my knee thoroughly and without making me scream like a little girl...thanks ! I left with confidence my knee would get better and hold up...this was quite important to me at this particular time as it is when I put together my ski trips...which are damn expensive...and the minor investment in time and $$ was well worth it to be fairly sure that I would be in reasonable ski shape this season. Pricing was very reasonable and they sent the paperwork to my insurance company to apply to my deductible. I cannot imagine going anywhere else for knee issues...

Dr. Shelbourne performed surgery on my knee a month later and I followed EVERYTHING he said to do and was back on the floor playing basketball the following year. I also played semi-professional basketball after college and owe it all to Dr. Shelbourne and his staff!!!! I am very thankful for everything he has done for me and would highly recommend him.

I feel kind of silly "reviewing" a medical practice but these guys saved my mobility. I'm 45 and…read moreruptured my quad tendon as we were loading up my daughter's stuff for her sophomore year of college. Apparently every movement of my body was tied in through this tendon because I couldn't walk, and when I tried I would collapse. Within a day of the examination I was in surgery. Within a week of surgery i was out of the immobilizer and into a mega-robo-brace AND WALKING. Sure it was with crutches but I could already use myles and flex my quad muscle. I am now working with PT to strengthen but less then a month post-op I am walking without crutches but still with my leg brace. Amazing I had two really rough days of pain after the surgery, but they're careful to send you home with just the right amount of pain medication. Dr. Rettig was assigned to me but you could also recognize him on the sidelines with the Colts as their ortho specialist. When I was in surgery recovery, I was next door to a Raiders tight-end (who shall remain nameless). Amazing experience. Amazing group of professionals.

I've seen a few of them, and much like regular MDs, there are good and bad ones. I chose to go to Speedway Family Physicians because it is near where I work and I could quickly run over there for a lunch time appointment if I needed to be seen. The office is right on Main Street in Speedway, it's an older building, the facility itself does seem in need of an update, a lot of the equipment (scales, the stuff you normally see in an examination room) seems a tad old. The office staff is efficient and mostly polite, some are friendly but it is hit or miss. They seem very busy, and sometimes can act a little put out when you talk to them. It is also kind of weird that even though they are open until 7pm, they stop answering the phones at 4:30. Oh and they do not answer the phones at lunchtime either. The office usually runs late on the appointments, but I've never waited more than a half hour past my appointment time. My main issue with SFP is that it seems to be the training grounds for family practice residents. That's great, these people need a place to learn what they are doing! My problem with this is that when you make an appointment, they do not tell you you are seeing a resident. If you are like me, you only go to see a doctor a couple times a year, so just as you are getting familiar and comfortable with the person treating you, they finish their residency and are gone, so then you are assigned someone new, and have to start the process all over again with a new doctor - explaining your situation, history, what the other doctor was doing to treat you...that was totally frustrating. There are permanent doctors in the practice, however I do not know if they accept new patients. On a positive note, I really liked the second resident I was assigned to and since she stayed in Indy once she was done with her residency, followed her over to her new practice.

You would wonder if these doctors even care about my time. And it cost how much? So after 91 minutes the doctor come for around 8 minutes total time. And during that time he checked my lungs and that's it. Guess I wondering anymore what does a physical check mean anymore? Guess to the medical field it means check the patients lungs and send them away. Guess I'm healthy since my lungs sound okay. So you ask yourself why did I give this place one star. Well I had to pick at least one. I think Community Health owes me for my lost time and the lack of service. Dissatisfied patient Tom
