Apparently every movement of my body was tied in through this tendon because I couldn't walk, and when I tried I would collapse. Within a day of the examination I was in surgery. Within a week of surgery i was out of the immobilizer and into a mega-robo-brace AND WALKING. Sure it was with crutches but I could already use myles and flex my quad muscle. I am now working with PT to strengthen but less then a month post-op I am walking without crutches but still with my leg brace. Amazing I had two really rough days of pain after the surgery, but they're careful to send you home with just the right amount of pain medication. Dr. Rettig was assigned to me but you could also recognize him on the sidelines with the Colts as their ortho specialist. When I was in surgery recovery, I was next door to a Raiders tight-end (who shall remain nameless). Amazing experience. Amazing group of professionals.

A hyper efficient operation with hardly any waiting...everyone did their job with the utmost professionalism, care, and with good humor. Everyone here did so with enthusiastic alacrity....and were parrying quite well with their own snarky remarks. Dr. Shelbourne examined my knee thoroughly and without making me scream like a little girl...thanks ! I left with confidence my knee would get better and hold up...this was quite important to me at this particular time as it is when I put together my ski trips...which are damn expensive...and the minor investment in time and $$ was well worth it to be fairly sure that I would be in reasonable ski shape this season. Pricing was very reasonable and they sent the paperwork to my insurance company to apply to my deductible. I cannot imagine going anywhere else for knee issues...

As a matter of public interest, we would like to share our documented experience with Dr. Irwin…read moreMalament DPM of Irwin B. Malament DPM, PC, on behalf of our father, a 90 year old former patient of over 5 years whose name will remain anonymous. In a letter dated June 17, 2019, our family was notified that our father had been summarily dismissed by Dr. Malament's practice for being increasingly disrespectful and rude to his staff. Obviously, nobody deserves to be treated in such a manner, but it's one thing if the rude behaviour was intentional or deliberate, which in the case of this patient, was absolutely not the case... Formerly an appointment human rights commissioner in his home state, who spent much of his career fighting for justice, tolerance, and respect for all, several years ago was diagnosed with dementia. The condition is progressive. It is now acute and has been progressing rapidly in recent years. This terrible disease has impacted cognitive function, which impacts communication causing uncontrollable and involuntary language, including disrespective and otherwise completely inappropriate language. However, Dr. Malament and his office showed no compassion for this devastating condition. You would think that as a licensed medical practitioner, he and the staff would be highly sensitive and adequately trained to properly treat elderly people in the practice who suffer from medical conditions, including dementia. Unfortunately, this is not the case. No courtesy phone call or advanced notification was given to the family of the patient, prior to his dismissal. A follow up visit scheduled six weeks in advance was immediately canceled. No referral was provided to another physician who was better suited to handle the condition of the patient. It was as if the inconvenience of his uncontrollable mental illness totally eradicated their long-standing patient-doctor relationship. Dr. Malament closed his letter with, "I am sorry this relationship must end on these terms." However, we don't believe that his "apology" was at all sincere. If Dr. Malament was truly "sorry", one would assume that at least some effort would have been made by his office to facilitate the transition of the patient to another provider. No such help was ever provided. The cruel summary dismissal of this helpless patient was cowardly and pathetic. At a minimum, it was handled in the most unprofessional manner. Dr. Malament, and his medical practice group, are completely void of empathy, not only for this patient, but it reflects an inability to care for geriatric patients and their families, or anyone whose loved ones suffer from debilitating illnesses.

Upon being examined, (Dr. didn't speak the best English so that was a challenge) the Dr. made a call to Hendricks County ER because he thought my husband may have appendicitis. The Dr. also appeared to be afraid of examining my husband because of the vomiting, lethargy and inability to move about without my assistance. An urgent care doctor should expect too see anything and everything in the exam room, right? That being said, the Dr. shouldn't make the patient feel like a disease. Once the Dr. assumed my husband's diagnosis he never stepped foot in our room again (I don't think he could handle the continuous vomiting). Dr. let the nurse handle everything from there on out. Luckily, she was wonderful. 4/5 stars for the caring nurse. My husband and I arrived at urgent care about an hour before closing (in addition to having had a 45 minute drive there) and it took about 10-15 minutes to be taken to an exam room-a reasonable amount of time to wait given the other patients ahead of us. That night my husband and I ended up in the Hendricks County ER. He was diagnosed with the Norovirus, not appendicitis. 4/5 star review because I think patients should be seen based on the severity of their (obvious) ailments. My husband was vomiting violently and couldn't even sit up, but patients were still seen before him, in the order in which they arrived. Dr.'s bedside manner left a lot to be desired.
