I was skeptical about going to a chiropractor, but the pain I was feeling in my neck has improved significantly after going to Billingsley.

I came in for an appointment today to discuss chiropractic care as I recently became pregnant and I had heard that it's helpful. Dr. B had a condescending tone with me from the start. When I first explained why I was there (after seeing that I'd been years ago but didn't follow through with regular appts due to a conflict with the location and my work schedule) said "Well you should always get chiropractic care, even when you're not pregnant." Okay, well obviously I made an appointment to get back into it, so isn't that a step in the right direction? Then he saw that I am currently taking Zoloft. "While pregnant?" I replied yes - that I have had a discussion with my RN and that it is deemed the safe way to go if you struggle with anxiety and depression, which I have for many years and have come to a very healthy place with it. "Well, any medicine when you are pregnant is a toxin in your body." I did not come to this appointment to discuss my medications or my need for mental health medication in particular. If you do not know the long journey someone has been on with their depression and anxiety, it can be very dismissive to comment on this when that is not even the reason for the visit. You are a chiropractic center. This is my first pregnancy, it is very early, and the last thing I was looking for was someone who was going to talk down to me about my personal health decisions or judge me for not following through on appointments in the past. I wanted to look into chiropractic care so my body could be more comfortable during the pregnancy. Obviously this place is not for me. I have been going to Billingsley Chiropractic for nearly 4 years. I began treatment there after a car accident, and Dr. Hartwell was literally a life saver! I also see Dr. Billingsley as well and both are professional, compassionate and very knowledgeable. The staff is amazing. Kathy always greets me with a smile and asks about my family and Dr Billingsley's wife Tammy is also very kind and responsive to any concerns. I'm not happy that they refused to let my daughter see her x-rays yet told her that she has multiple problems with her back and neck that would be obvious to someone even untrained in reading an x-ray. They did a minor adjustment to her lower back, where she has no problems, then pressured her to come back the next day for even more treatment. I'm not against chiropractic care but not giving a patient access to their medical records is unethical. My daughter felt pressured, her questions went unanswered, and that she felt was being given a snow job about her spinal condition. If it's truly that severe, we'll be seeing an orthopedic physician and requesting her x-rays as well as records of alleged treatment. read more

Doctors are nice , but staff up front was very rude. Demanded I signed up for a credit card or I wouldn't be seen again .
