We've also eaten at many places in LA, which is known for having some of the best Korean food. We saw this place had pretty solid reviews, especially on Google, and even saw comments from people claiming they were Korean and from LA saying this place rivaled KBBQ spots there. Because of that, we came in with really high expectations. Unfortunately, we left disappointed. The restaurant is located upstairs, and the elevator ride alone almost made us turn around. It was extremely shaky and honestly felt unsafe at times. There were moments we thought it might actually drop. I would definitely recommend taking the stairs instead. We ordered the mixed combo with beef, chicken, and pork, along with soybean soup and steamed egg. The banchan selection was limited and overall the flavors were pretty underwhelming. The biggest issue though was the meat quality. Most of the meats were chewy, including the pork belly, which should have been much more tender because of the fat content. One thing we've noticed in Mexico compared to the US is that the meat quality in general often isn't quite the same, and this place really highlighted that for us. Honestly, Gen BBQ back in California is much better than this spot. I understand some people love this place because they cook over charcoal, but the cooking process took forever. Each meat took a long time to cook, and they had to replace the coals multiple times during the meal. The one thing that really stood out in a positive way was the steamed egg. It was honestly one of the best steamed eggs we've had. Super fluffy, airy, and cooked perfectly. If you're someone who really loves Korean food or Korean BBQ, I personally wouldn't recommend going out of your way for this place. There are much better options out there worth spending your money on.

We absolutely love Japanese food so we knew that we were in for a treat. All of the sushi was extremely fresh top quality service was exceptional though this was a quick lunch date. It felt like a three star dinner. The server was extremely attentive and explained the menu exceptionally. We started out with calamari, which was absolutely phenomenal. The oven roast oysters were delicious as well, but the sushi stole the shell. All of the sushi was extremely fat fresh and absolutely delicious. I got a nonalcoholic used beverage, which was absolutely divine. The establishment has a whimsical yet upscale appearance, which would be perfect for date night or a special dinner. I am so happy that we stumbled upon this restaurant and I will definitely visit again next time in Cancun.

No one knew how to guide me there til I found the concierge form by the escalator up. Go into the Casino then right! Stated with hot green tea and miso soup, both came out hot and flavorful. The omakase options looked great but I opted for the menu. I went with nigiri: chu-toro with truffle added, o-toro, unagi with foie gras, squid and madako (octopus). All was outstanding. Would have loved to try the chocolate clam but they were out. The o-toro was so prefectly fatty! Well worth leaving resort for lunch! Chef Alexis and Server Javier were so warm and welcoming! Wonderful service!

The staff were cordial, lovely, and attentive. It can get busy, but everything comes in good time and they always encourage you to go for more. I ordered the tuna and salmon sashimi- it'll come four slices each, and at the time I ordered the salmon slices were a bit smaller than the tuna. The nigiri comes one at a time, but be advised you can order as many at a time as you want. The individual nigiri is super tasty! I got the spicy chicken bao bun and misoshiru (shiru just means soup)- the miso is good, but the spicy chicken bao bun wasn't my favorite. The 'bao' was good but did not taste like bao as I know it traditionally, as well as that the spicy chicken was more of a zesty, a-la Chinese style. Finally, I got the Roses Sour mocktail (just without sake). The sour on this was delightful and worth many come backs. This spot is a really good start to the stay at this resort. I highly recommend reserving at least at the start of your day as reservations do fill up as the day goes on. We managed to book at 8:15pm at around 4:30pm as that was the first available time.

Some of their appetizers were enjoyable such as the tuna tataki w/ garlic chips, mixed vegetable tempura, and spicy shrimp wontons. Their sashimi is pretty good and fresh, their chutoro is nice and buttery, but that's about the only thing that saved them from me rating 1 star. I would pass on most of their other rolls and nigiri though. Having gone to many omakases and even Japan 4x, I guess I'm just really picky with my sushi. I was pretty disappointed overall. I got my favorite nigiri such as scallop, ikura, and eel, and they were all pretty average. The rolls were not good, got the spider roll and truffle unagi roll. And sad to say, their desserts were the worst... As a family, we got one of each dessert to try, but they weren't good. The mochi ice-cream skin was tough and felt inedible, it needs to have a soft chewy, stretchy texture. Also had the sago and the shaved ice, we couldn't finish it. The service there was actually so slow too. We got seated at 6:45pm and didn't get our first appetizer until 7:30pm... 45min wait!! (we did get served our drinks in btwn) And then even after that, our dishes just kept slowly coming in. We ended our night with their dessert around 9pm. We were there for almost 2.5 hrs from stay to finish. A lot of it was spent just sitting around. Out of all the restaurants throughout Moon Palace, this might have been my least favorite. I wanted to like it, but I guess making Japanese food was just not their forte in Cancún.
