This place was a lovely first dinner at the Grand Moon Palace. The setting is divine- dim lighting, decor, as well as clean seating and premises. The staff were cordial, lovely, and attentive. It can get busy, but everything comes in good time and they always encourage you to go for more. I ordered the tuna and salmon sashimi- it'll come four slices each, and at the time I ordered the salmon slices were a bit smaller than the tuna. The nigiri comes one at a time, but be advised you can order as many at a time as you want. The individual nigiri is super tasty! I got the spicy chicken bao bun and misoshiru (shiru just means soup)- the miso is good, but the spicy chicken bao bun wasn't my favorite. The 'bao' was good but did not taste like bao as I know it traditionally, as well as that the spicy chicken was more of a zesty, a-la Chinese style. Finally, I got the Roses Sour mocktail (just without sake). The sour on this was delightful and worth many come backs. This spot is a really good start to the stay at this resort. I highly recommend reserving at least at the start of your day as reservations do fill up as the day goes on. This is our second time trying out Jade. The food seemed blander than we remembered. Among all the appetizers and main dishes we tried, the ones we recommend are sashimi (pretty fresh and flavored) and agus ishiyaki (feels special cooking on the stone. Flavor is ok). Service was pretty slow as well. Hope they can keep improving since we love sushi and sashimi. read more

To start off, I loved the visuals of the restaurant itself. The lighting was dim (bright enough to eat comfortably and view the food in good lighting) and the lighting fixtures were well put together. However, the food was just alright. One thing that stood out was how the entree was basically the same size as the appetizers. Also, the plates were really big it might make you feel more full than the tiny portions of food makes you feel. I would say order more sashimi, pass on the cauliflower and Korean BBQ, but overall don't be afraid to order more because it takes awhile to come out. The service was subpar. We had to remind them fill our empty waters a couple times until the end when they picked started filling our waters without the reminder but at that point we didn't need it anymore. Very good service and lots of menu choices: I would recommend ordering several dishes as the portions are a little small, but it's fun to order a lot and share. The spring rolls are delicious and gyoza could be skipped. I also enjoyed the teriyaki salmon. read more

This is our 3rd time eating here and it is absolutely amazing. We have had every appetizer and almost every entree and there is not a mistake on the menu. Korean Chicken, Dim Sum, all the sushi are great options for appetizers. It's all inclusive, so just get them all. The Octopus in Pablo is stellar. The atmosphere is really nice and the staff is great, the food is okay, my standards for sushi/seafood/sashimi are pretty high, we would classify theirs as mid grade. The benefit is it is all you can eat, the salmon was good but prefer it without bones, the steak with garlic was a little over cooked, the ribs were okay. Try to look past the fact that all of the portions are small and order accordingly. The service is a little slow, so I recommend ordering a large amount of everything for the 1st round, then you can add on if you're hungry. You might get frustrated waiting for additional rounds, if you're hungry and haven't ordered enough with the first go-around. Undercover highlight of the menu is the pork belly skewers. Deliciously thick bacon candy on a stick? Yes please! The kimchi octopus was a big fail. It was simply tough, chewy and not too good. Enjoyed the individual nigiri, especially the toro. Of the rolls, our favorites were the spider and the crispy salmon. Is it the best sushi I've ever eaten? Not even close. But it was a fun atmosphere, we didn't feel rushed, the servers were polite and enthusiastic, and we enjoyed our meal. Overall the meal wasn't bad but the wasabi was bland and the miso soup tasted like horsepiss I asked for octopus kimchi and they only gave me octopussy. The bbq was too spicy and it set my clit on fire they gave me a concoction of what I can only think is a sushi roll and all the soups on their menu. The chef cooking it burnt me (I am the chef) the salt was amazingly salty and disgusting the sauces were yummy in my tummy and gave me the most obnoxious diarrhea. The ambiance was ok it was only the size of the food court in my backyard which is 40 X 49 yards and they didn't have a helipad for my Huey veitnam war helicopter. I had high expectation as it's hard to reserve a table here. However, the food was very disappointing. The sushi tasted like cheap grocery store bought sushi using the wrong type of rice. Beef skewers were over cooked and very salty. Gyoza was also poorly made that was even worse than frozen gyoza from the supermarket. Don't recommend this restaurant. read more

I have been here a few times pre-Covid and then 2 times after COVID. The food and service have slightly dropped. We ordered multiple dishes and they took a very long time to come out and a few of the dishes were either over cooked or undercooked. The sushi was standard. The lamb chops when cooked properly were excellent. I will give it another shot the next time I visit Cancun. read more

The ambiance is very nice and spacious but still does not make up for the lackluster in food quality. I saw a few reviews on YouTube and came in with higher expectations. We tried these following items: Salmon and tuna taco - not impressed by any means Ramen - not impressed, Costco ramen is better Bc Curry chicken - pretty horrible Pork ribs - meat was not tender but the sauce was good Fried rice - did not taste good Stir fried noodles - average We were disappointed with the entrees so we decided to try most of the desserts and they were a lot better than we expected. The mochi ice cream and lychee sorbet were a total hit and made up for the average tasting entrees. The service from all of the workers were great and friendly. They came around frequently to fill our waters and remove any dishes we were done with. I would not recommend this restaurant but I will recommend Cusco! Everything we had there for dinner was good and their lunch buffet had many tasty options along with several ceviche dishes and poke. You will have to call days in advance for dinner but not for the lunch buffet; just show up and they will seat you. read more

This was our favorite spot over the week we stayed at the Grand at Moon Palace. It's a shame that the Jade restaurant is really only open for dinner (and for their international breakfast, which I will separately comment on). The space is very nice and while the dress code is casual, it has a very upscale feel to the space. We had dinner here twice. It is the only place at The Grand that has sushi (I think) and when it's part of the all-inclusive, it feels like you're at an AYCE sushi spot. The fish was not bad - their salmon does not have the distinguishing thick white lines that are typical in salmon, but it still tastes the same. Their sushi options are a bit limited - tuna, salmon, octopus, and maybe a few others, although about half were vegetable options. If you like sashimi, go for the sashimi morisawa, as that comes with 15 or so delicious slices of raw fish. The cooked dishes were not bad - the pork belly dish was a bit mixed because while some pieces were succulent and juicy, other were too dried out. The meat was also fried more like chicharron-style rather than Japanese style. However, the sauce that accompanied it worked. The XO-sauce sou vous chicken was good - the sauce was one of my favorites over the whole week. The dinner menu is pretty extensive, so you should stop by more than once to try a variety of the options. As for breakfast, if you like meat, I would recommend coming to Jade instead of the Grand Buffet because they have a whole grill section available that I didn't see at the main buffet. The grilled options include two types of sausage, salmon, chicken, and most importantly, hanger steak. I know hanger steak is a cheap cut, but it doesn't mean that it can't be delicious and juicy. Despite grabbing pieces that looked a bit overcooked, the meat was very tender. The Jade breakfast buffet also offers some Asian dishes, such as pork belly baos (again more chicharron style), udon yakisoba (noodles were actually fettucine I think), and fried rice. read more

Like all restaurants at The Grand, Moon Palace, service was superb. Food was ok, nothing we can't get at the Grand Buffet. They were very careful about my son's peanut allergy and specifically made sure his lobster was cleared of any peanut contact when it was being grilled..at least that's what they assured us. Grilled Octopus (very fresh) with cilantro sauce grilled beef fillet (very tender) were good choices. The grilled lobster was not worth the $86 resort credit as it didn't taste as fresh as expected. Dessert choices were limited so we ended up going to Grand Buffet for additional dessert. read more

Today was our last evening in the Moon Palace Grand and we decided to have our last dinner at Jade. We had a blast ! The staff was soooo nice and friendly and guided us through a wonderful culinary journey ! We didn't choose our food ourselves. Instead the staff presented us with appetizer selections, main course selections and dessert selections hitting all the right taste buds of anyone of us. 6 stars it is - no doubt. We really enjoyed all the food at this restaurant. There were four of us and we each ordered something different so we could try everything. Their appetizers were delicious, spring rolls, spicy tuna rolls, shrimp tempura. Dinner we tried pad thai, the wok chicken, and the shrimp tempanyaki. Everything was delicious. The sushi was pretty good considering the other pan pacific restaurant on site was terrible. The strawberry ice cream and the apple dumpling spring rolls for dessert were also very well done. It's the only place I really enjoyed dessert at the resort. Only cons is it is VERY LOUD in this restaurant. Hard to talk between the four of us at a very nice restaurant, which I don't enjoy. I also felt bad for our waiter, he seemed to be running around to keep up with his tables. He was working very hard but took awhile for everything to come because it seemed understaffed. I would like to comment based also on other yelpers reviews. Yes ambience is nice, even upscale, and service could be defined very good if you accept that gyoza is served at the end of your dinner. Worst, they were even not good at all and we were there for good food, we do not eat ambience and service. Fried rice? It looked and tasted like it had been prepared two days before. The duck breast?
