Thai iced tea
Charlé W.

We made reservations, but got there significantly early because, quite frankly, we were starving. The host graciously sat us. We had lots of questions and the servers were so patient and knowledgeable. We were beyond satisfied with everything we ordered. The Thai iced tea: perfect. not too sweet. The Thai sticky wings: also perfect. The Pad See Ew: perfect. The Pad Kaprao: perfect. These were the best prepared shrimp that we had all trip. I still salivate thinking about this meal. Yum Yum was yum yum indeed (sorry).

Good food, decent flavors. Ambiance makes up for the food. Service is amazing tho. Fusion

This review is for the Yum Yum on 10th and 30th. They did such a good job I wanted to make sure they got the credit. I did a review on TripAdvisor as well. The manager was very nice. I want to take this place home with me. We went here for Christmas Eve. The staff was very friendly and the restaurant is beautiful inside. The gave great recommendations. Everytime I saw food come out I was so excited because each plate was impressive. We had the pineapple fried rice, salmon (amazing), shrimp pad thai (full of flavor), and spring rolls. I'm definitely returning before I leave Playa but please support this place it's worth it. And not expensive. Very reasonable.

You want flavour while on holiday? Do you want a notorious chef cooking your food while having two other completely different cuisines in the city? Come to Yum Yum where you'll find Thai flavour in the middle of the Caribbean. The atmosphere is very inviting. Love the aesthetic of the restaurant. There's an exterior and interior seating area. The outside is pleasant for a cool late sunset, be warned because that mosquitos will come so put on some of the mosquito repellent. The ambiance seems very lovely and a bit loads but necessary over the top loud. Now for the food. It's difficult to find these flavour while going out in holiday and trying local food and I feel that Yum Yum does a great job standing out of that crowd of what is common nearby. Everything was so delicious. The Pad citrus and savour flavour is there. The curry was a little watered does but the flavour is there. My favourite was the starter platter with a little bit of everything from the starter list. I love variety so this was perfect. Presentation is a 10/10. Looks so beautiful and well put together I don't even want to eat it. The service really great the majority of the time. Very welcoming and professional. Many vegetarian options.

Tom Yum Soup, Dal Makhani, Paneer Angara

Best Indian and Thai food in PDC! Karen is an amazing hostess. She took such good care of us and suggested dishes we would like based on our preferences. All our food was vegetarian. We ordered Tom Yum soup, Garlic Naan, Dal Makhani and Paneer Angara. Everything was delicious! We requested Tom Yum to be spicy and they were happy to accommodate our request. The Dal Makhani and Paneer Angara were so flavorful and authentic. They both came with rice and the Paneer came with salad and raita as well. The Garlic Naan was very soft and flavorful. The place also has a very nice vibe and different from the touristy places on Quinta Avenida.

Tofu and papaya salad

This place is great. Everything from the customer service to the restaurant ambiance to the food. The staff is so kind and attentive. They have inside and outside eating spaces and Covid protections in place. The vibe is good. I will definitely come back next time i am in Playa Del Carmen. This is a must try. I got the yellow curry , fried tofu and papaya salad and it was cooked perfectly and so delicious.

I love how the check comes out in a small treasure chest. Very unique.

The server at this restaurant was amazingly attentive & kind. The food sounded good on the menu but was a bit bland. The Lobster & Shrimp Pad Thai had a cool presentation with the whole lobster tail and shell on top of the noodles. There's outdoor seating and the servers do wear masks. This was a pleasant experience overall and I wouldn't mind giving this place another shot.

Moving to Playa, I wasn't expecting there to be quality Asian food restaurants and this place proved my hypothesis wrong.

They were open in a different location before, closed for a while, and opened again at 15th and 8, across from the Palacio Municipal. The restaurant is nice, comfortable and covered in pin up girl art. Service was friendly and our server spoke English well. The menu is mostly different Asian dishes-Thai, Vietnamese, Indian-with a couple of European options thrown in. My group all ordered appetizers to share and Asian entrees (Thai curry, curry noodles, Pad Thai), and everyone was happy. My favorite appetizer was the dumplings, but the samosas and satay were also good. My entree was red curry noodles with chicken. The regular size was a lot of food, with very tasty sauce and well cooked chicken and veggies. The grilled pineapple was a nice addition. The spice level was hot enough for me, but the addition of their house habanero sauce kicked it up nicely. The premium margaritas were also good. I would definitely go again and will enjoy the leftovers.

The menu is focused on their specialty, HOMEMADE noodles! So delicious. We ordered 4 different dishes, all were scrumptious. The friendly server made great recommendations. The pad thai was a bit more savory but tasty, it was my favorite.  The garlic peanut noodles had a thick sauce and was good. The other favorite was the green curry noodles, light and flavorful! The best place to enjoy a yummy meal. We ate outdoors with a view of the Christmas decorations in the city Square and inside there was a vibrant d.j. with muted dance music, excellent vibes! Excellent service, food and ambiance.

Restaurant is at…read morethe entrance of the resort and it makes you feel like you are going to an independent restaurant. We did not have a reservation but they accommodated us. It is best if you make a reservation ahead of time. Their selection of cocktails included some exclusive to this restaurant and sounded delicious and a nice combination of Asian flavors with local fruits. I went with the Kioto that was a great blend of aged rum, passion fruit puree, tamarind water, iced tea and simple syrup. My mom loved her fish dinner. I very much enjoyed my tiraditos and sashimi. We wrapped up our dinner with ginger ice cream. Service was excellent and food arrived promptly. I wish I've known ahead which days they were closed as they rotate restaurants. We tried going our last night for other dishes and they were closed for the night.

We did not need reservations and were seated quickly upstairs. They were not strict about the dress code, which was appreciated. I tried several appetizers including the tuna tartare, Thai lettuce tacos, and spring rolls. Everything was well done and small portions . I was also very pleased that they had lychee martinis, which were a great touch.
