I have nothing to say good or bad about the doctor because I could never get past the Iron Curtain of the front office and actually get to see the doctor. I called to make an appointment as a new patient and they demanded that I get an referral frim my primary (I have an HMO). I explained that my plan does not require a referral or a primary. They didn't believe me. I had my primary send a referral but Ho's office never called me back to make an appointment. I called them after a few weeks to see what's up and they told me they have no record of receiving a referral and that I would need to have another referral sent. My primary was kind enough to send another referral and Ho's office called me the same day. The person on the phone made an appointment for the first available. The day before my appointment the office calls me and tells me that the referral had expired on the 1st. The first available appointment THEY gave me was on the 3rd. I said that the person that made my appointment must have seen the date that they claim was an expiration date. They said they know nothing about that. People! This is 2021! Their scheduling software surely documents the date the appointment was made and by whom! They had the nerve to ask me to request yet another referral from my primary. I refused! I mean come on; my primary knows that a referral is not even required by my insurance plan. I could go on & on about how the office manager calls me back that same day and offered to call my primary for another referral and a week goes by and I call back and the same office manager has no recollection of our previous conversation and asks me if I'm a new patient!!!!!!!!!!! I I went to Dr Ho 1 year ago for cataract surgery. January he did the left eye and February 2020 he ddid the right eye. I went back for my post op visits in March and I complained that I was having trouble seeing out my right eye. Then COVID 19 came along and he was closed for awhile. Finally I was able to go back again and again I complained that I couldn't see out of my right eye. My vision was very poor in my right eye and he kept assuring me that if I kept on using eye drops I would get used to it. His assistance told me cataract surgery isn't all about seeing. I wonder what that dope thinks it's about??????? I went all through 2020 finally I went to another Doctor who referred me to yet another doctor who told me that Dr Fredrick Ho didn't anchor the lens to my eye properly and so it moves around my eye sometimes I think it's going up into my hair line. Dr Fredrick Ho thinks someone can get used to the consistent ache in their right eye or not have side vision in the right eye plus my right eye keeps running. Can it be fixed well I was told that it was a gamble. Usually you can't change the lens but I can have another operation and maybe it will work and maybe I can be blind in my right eye. Final note in my opinion please do yourself a favor and do not use Dr Fredrick Ho he might be the last thing you see For the doubters I am not seeing black spots the lens is moving. read more

(About 150 miles away and required overnight stay at hotel.) Dr. Ho's staff is superb and he is always able to fit me In urgently when needed. I have debated for nearly a year whether to write this review or not, but after a close friend had a similar experience with her cataract surgery, I feel I must. Dr Ho uses as scalpel not laser. I had the dreadful experience of feeling horrible pain as the nurses failed to numb my eye correctly. When I cried out that it was hurting so bad, Dr Ho scolded me and told me to be still. He or staff never even said sorry. I was told to come in again in six months but instead spent the next 6 months going to Florida Eye Institute to heal the damage. It was very traumatic! read more

$250 for a 5-minute visit. Nothing special. Just a checkup. More than 1-hour wait. You tell me if that's a good deal. This is after the front desk refused to tell me how much it would cost. They also charged different amounts for each of us, even though we all had the same checkup. Needless to say, they just lost 3 customers. read more

The first thing I want to do here is to highly recommend Dr. Ho for doing cataract surgeries. I waited until now, a full month after my two cataract procedures, to place this review as I wanted to make sure the shock of seeing again was not something that wore off. It has not! Dr. Ho and his staff handled my cataract removal and lens replacement with professionalism, expertise and full openness of the path to my successful surgeries. Although I chose not to have lens replacements that would eliminate my wearing glasses. Dr Ho's surgical experience and skills did vastly improve my naked vision (without glasses). I can now see tremendously better without my glasses then I have in many years. I find myself actually forgetting to put on my glasses when I get up in the morning or after showering. Before the surgeries without glasses I could NOT see my nightstand clock, could not look into a mirror to shave, or comb my hair or groom. I could not see the TV, the computer screen nor drive at all without having my glasses on. Now I can. My naked vision is not only like it was when I was in my twenties (I am near 70 now) but also my vision is clearer, brighter and more vivid. I had not realized how cataracts actually act as a shade over your eyes. My research led me to Dr. Ho. All folks who had gone to him for cataract surgery and other eye alments were completely satisfied with his services. So I made my next yearly eye exam with Dr Ho. I found him and his staff to be very friendly and open to my questions while not rushing me during my appointments. After my eye exam, Dr. Ho asked me about my cataracts and if I had noticed any problems with my eyes. He did not presume I had problems, he just asked. I was not having any vision problem other then the prescription changing every year (getting worse). Dr. Ho asked if I was ok with getting another set of glasses or would I be consider cataract surgery. When I said I was considering the surgery, he explained all three lens replacement methods he could perform (basic: change out the lens for the same vision or for a charge change out to a upgraded lens which would give corrected vision). Dr. Ho explained the procedures without pushing any one method and letting me decided what I wanted. With the decision to go forward with the cataract surgery, Dr. Ho turned me over to his staff. They explained the costs and billing (which was zero cost to me for basic lens replacement with Medicare) and then explained the scheduling of the surgeries, the prescriptions to be picked up before the procedure, the temporary limitations following the surgeries and answered all of my questions without my feeling rushed. Note here, one very important point about the prescriptions. They have a very expensive co-pay even with prescription insurance. However being as these are for your vision's protection, they are worth it. BUT ask the person scheduling the surgery about a prescription discount. She can give you information on acquiring the same medications for much less of a co-pay. When each surgery takes place Dr. Ho's surgery center and staff do a wonderful job prepping you through the 90 minutes prior to the surgery. The actual surgery takes about 10-15 minutes. One caution wear warm clothes as the surgery center is kept cool. I was required to have someone to drive me home and back the next day for my post surgery appointment. Dr Ho's staff checked up on me by phone all day following the surgery. Post surgery was scary so they staff's call(s) was a welcome as they answered my questions with advice and guidance. What is scary you might be asking... As I had been told, the eye itself swells due to the surgery and at first (and a few hours afterwards) I only saw a white burr out of that eye. By evening the white burr began to subside and I began to see shapes. By the next morning I was able to see, but the white fog still persisted. This white fog disappeared in a couple of days and fully revealed my very much improved naked sight. I fully recommend Dr. Ho. His office and surgery staff were very helpful and concerned to help me get through a scary time by giving me comfort by their professionalism and caring. Another Doctor recommended Dr Ho to us. So, I took my 12 year old child with Type I Diabetes to see Dr. Ho. My daughter has had Type I Diabetes for 10 years, so it is very critical to have a thorough eye evaluation annually. Dr. Ho's staff is very helpful and attentive. Dr. Ho spent about 2 minutes with my daughter and I was expecting a thorough evaluation which can not be accomplished in 2 mins. Very disappointing. My husband and I have been patients of Dr. Ho's since around 2001. When you go to his office you are helped quickly, all questions are answered, and you never feel pushed or rushed. You will never have an unnecessary wait. The origanization there is unbelieveable. It amazes me that there could be so many truly professional people in one place.
