So, I was a first-time client with LensCrafter and had made an appointment for an eye exam. The appointment was made in December (for 7 JAN), and I had planned on ensuring I was present for the appointment. I found them on my insurance website as a PLUS provider, indicating their company helped you out. On 11:51am yesterday (5 January) I was called, and they wanted to confirm that I would be there for my appointment. I stated yes, I would be there, and they informed me of their $50 cancellation fee if I did not show up. I was stunned but nevertheless, I had planned to be there. I was definitely taken back at that, but ok, it was what they did. Today (6 January) at 9:27am (less than 24 hours from my appointment) they called me to tell me my doctor would not be able to see me, and they wanted to see if I can reschedule! WHAT??? I had waited almost a month, and you were cancelling my appointment less than 24 hours after you confirmed it? How do you do that to a client, nevertheless, a new client!? Now to be fair, my appointment was with Dr. Tanke, and i was not sure if it was him, or the office that was not available, but I just stated I would cancel. What was stunning was the fact that (I FELT) they were planning on charging me $50 if I was a no show, but then THEY no showed me??? .If this was the way I was going to be treated, I did not want them to be my provider. such a rude office to deal with now after 13 years of such exceptional service. so not call to make an eye appointment, you can't , don't try to go in and speak to the appointment staff they are not friendly. this is the reason after 13 years I wont spend my insurance allowance of $3000 for th family or my extra $300 out of pocket here. many places are more affordable but it WAS the service that kept us as clients . now that we are only numbers it's not worth it . Attentive staff, specially Steffany. Very polite and knowledgeable. I was going to put new prescription on my two frames that I got there one and two years ago. She told me that they were not responsible for any cracks on my frames, which I understood, but she checked them well and was surprised how well taken care those were. My insurance cover one pair of lenses and got a good price on the other. I have been happy with this LensCrafters location for the last 15 years that I have lived in the area. read more

I don't know what happened to this place. I went to get a couple of pairs of glasses and picked out a couple of frames and I had to fax over my prescription, I did that the next day. I was told to come back on a cetain day because they were short staffed . I came back the day they told me to and when I did I was greeted with I don't know when we can help you but we close in an hour. Where is the awesome customer service? I love their product but I can get glasses anywhere now days. No one has even decent customer service anymore. read more

Don't bother with this eye care service. The quality of the glasses is terrible, the frames on my new glasses started falling apart after only a month. The second pair became scratched with normal wear after 2 months and that was with paying extra for their scratch resistant lenses! I went into an appointment I made to get contacts and when I went there in the middle of my day for the appointment, I was told "sorry we don't do that eye exam"??? Love Dr Tanke and his staff, I wouldn't see anyone else for my eye exams. I always find great service and helpful staff finding my glasses and finding the right fit. I wish I could get them as fast as I use to but things change and it's not the staffs fault, there is no use taking it out on them. I am not one to write reviews. I purchased glasses in February and paid dearly for them. I am a senior citizen and take good care of my glasses, never had an issue. First time trying Lens Crafters. The lenses are all scratched in 8 months. Called today to get them replaced and was told there is no warranty. That is ludicrous. Sell a product with scratch resistant lenses that are not scratch resistant and tell the customer you did not purchase a protection plan so you are out of luck. Never shop there again. read more

I made an appointment to get my eyes checked only to find the doctor doesn't take my insurance but I can use it to buy my glasses/contacts. What kind of a scam is that? Won't take my insurance for the appointment so I have to pay out of pocket but then I can for glasses? And the woman I spoke to, Gina, I think, answered the phone and spoke to me as if I was inconveniencing HER. She needs to learn some customer service skills. No apology to me as the customer, no concern in her voice just fry and annoyed. As a business you should be able to recognize how inconvenient and odd that is from the customer side. Please do yourself a favor and avoid this location. In September 2016, I was erroneously charged and the staff was hostile and unprofessional. After speaking with the doctor who appears to manage or own this location, the billing was corrected and I was promised "exemplary" service during my next visit. I must also add, my glasses were never adjusted during this visit as no staff was available. Upon arrival to my appointment on October 29, 2018 I was met again with hostility. Immediately I was asked, "did she tell you no one is available for your contact fitting today and you will need to come back?" First, a male set my appointment, so I'm unaware of who "she" is. And being my appointment time was at 11:30am, how difficult would it have been to call me upon opening to tell me of the staffing issue? After requesting to speak with Dr. Tanke to remind him of his promise made for my next visit, he actually called me "kiddo" while denying he had ever made a promise. Clearly a review of my file would have disclosed the previous issues and refund. He went on to explain they still have "staffing issues". Clearly this is a continuous problem passed on to the customer and I strongly recommend any potential customer avoid LensCrafters, specifically the New Haven facility in Melbourne, Florida and Dr. Tanke. read more

I have been coming to this location for over 20 years. I used to love it, but my last two pair of glasses were disappointing. This is the first time I had to go back to replace my lenses twice and I they still look foggy and cheaply made. As a matter of fact, I had to order new pairs from Zenni, and these $35.00 glasses show better quality and performance than my $800 glasses from Lenscrafters. On top of all this, their staff is not helpful anymore, and made me feel like I was the one at fault. I tried hard to use the "Dr. Exam" (exams are a different company than the prescription fullfillment) part of this company. It was a long drawn out poor expensive experience. 1st exam resulted in telling me I had glaucoma and referring me to a specialist. $200 dollars later, the specialist said I did not have glaucoma, it was just black specs in the iris. That was the 1st warning flare. The 2nd was the eye exam for a contact, very haphazard. I spent a $100 on the exam and another $100 on the contacts. They didn't not fit and slid around all over my eye. They were nice and made another appointment. Another weird exam, a new prescription. But nothing written. Try the sample for a day. It didn't slide around but did not improve my vision any than without them. I went back. The "Dr." Was not in. I asked for the last prescription. They couldn't find it but gave me a copy of the 1st one !?! I gave up. 3 drive times, $200 bogus glaucoma visit, $100 contact exam, $100 in nonreturnable useless contacts. AND I still need to spend money finding, driving and getting a workable prescription. Geez. read more

The store is openly laid out with clear prices on the frames, I received individual attention from a sales rep who helped me find glasses for my size 7 3/4 head, and offered to take pictures of me in different glasses so I could compare how I looked on their computer system. Overall the best price for the Oakley glasses I wanted in town, and and the best customer service of the competition! read more

Loved the doctors, loved the floorstaff, the receptionist left way more to be desired. She was cold, rude, unfriendly, impatient. I walked in as the doors opened ,knowing I didn't have an appointment, but also aware they take walk in. So naturally I bring my 2 teenage daughters right when they open in hopes to fit them in. I recieved rolling eyes and was told it may be a hours of we were seen at all and that I couldn't do a contacts visit because they didn't have time to do fitting (Mind you, no one was in the store but us)I asked if she could get the exam for contacts and come back for fitting at a later time She said no they couldn't do a fitting today. I said maybe I was confused and asked if the exam and fitting were the same and could you do one now and the other later on another day, that I could schedule an appt to come back. She literally stopped talking to me and stared at me and shook her head silently and started to turn away!! The Dr was beside her and cut in said she they could do that no problem!!! Ugh... The doctor made us feel welcomed and taken care of, the floorstaff went above and beyond to help my other daughter find glasses. An hour and a half later we were out the door, 2 exams, a pair of glasses ordered, and an appt to come back later that afternoon for a fitting for the contacts. No thanks to the miserable looking receptionist, as the Dr set the appt up for us!! The receptionist is usually the first real interaction you have, might want to find someone who makes you feel welcomed- to be that person. read more

I visited this location after a lens popped out of my glasses into the ocean while I was on vacation. Dr. Tanke conducted the best eye exam I have ever had and explained everything to me.
