This made me extremely nervous as I didn't want the scarf harmed in any way, but after speaking with Kettlewell & Edward's, I decided to go with them, and I'm so glad I did. They took their time showing me different combinations of mats and frames because the scarf had so many colors in it. I had no problem waiting 2 months for the finished product and it came out better than I could have thought. A lot of Hermes scarfs show bunching or wrinkles once stitched because it's difficult to get it squarely perfect, but mine came out just right. The whole experience cost me $500, and while a bit expensive, the attention the detail, personal care and previous experience of dealing with Hermes scarfs made it worth it. Thank you!

I decided to stop in to Blue Caboose because I wanted to support another local business. I am so happy that I did. Even if I had not received any services, I would still be leaving a 5-star review because it was such an enjoyable experience meeting Audrey and Heather. In the end I purchased the frames elsewhere (the posters are odd sizes, and although they are collector items, their value did not warrant the cost of custom frames). They still worked with me to cut custom mats for each of the posters for a fair price. I am extremely happy with both the experience and the finished products. Blue Caboose is definitely my first choice for any framing needs I may have in the future.

However, the matting and the glass in cheap frames leaves a lot to be desired. I brought everything here, and we worked out a deal where they would custom cut replacement matting, UV protection glass, and then attached the pictures to the matting. When we picked them up, we just had to reinstall everything in the frames we already had (which they confirmed we pretty good quality frames). We are very pleased with the results.

I'm about 7 years late with my review but better late than never!…read more I came to Alacrity with a canvas painting that I got as a gift from my translator when I studied abroad in Tanzania. It was super precious to me and Alacrity's could tell. An employee (I don't remember the name now) took the time to give a list of options for my piece, but gave his input on what he felt would work best. Let's just say that up until this day, it is my most PRIZED piece hanging in my Brooklyn apartment. The choice of wood frame and the black paper lining the canvas was "picture perfect!" I couldn't have asked for a better first-time experience at a frame shop. I'm considering coming back here to frame another piece in the near future. Thank you for making my Maasai warrior painting super special, Alacrity!

A Very FIne Business…read more Recently I had a series of miniatures that needed new backing and proper wires. I walked into Four Corners Frame and there was a line of four waiting. Sam, one of the owners, was gracious and unflustered, advised those of us next in line of the anticipated wait, and proceeded to give his full attention and the best possible advice to the first couple there to have several items framed. Several of us chose to wait and it was a pleasure to watch the warmth, interest and professionalism that he invested in each customer. My project was small and easy, yet he took the time to engage in conversation and to make me feel that my project was just as important to him as the other that proceeded me. The work was done within a few days and I received a text. Though it was my first time as a customer he immediately remembered me when I returned to the shop and had me examine his work and wanted to be sure that I was fully satisfied before I left. This is truly a gem of a business and you feel well served and appreciated when you leave.

Sam did an excellent job framing a piece of artwork my husband and I purchased while in Quebec. With his skilled craftsmanship and guidance on framing and matting selection, the resulting showpiece enhances the colors of the original etching. He made it easy, fun, and offered great insight while going over options and finalizing choices. Based on his previous work, we knew we could entrust him with a significant antique oil painting that is a prized possession as it depicts the location where my husband and I got married. He took the time to make a house call with his wife due to the delicate nature of the piece and helped install appropriate hardware necessary to hang such a delicate painting. The piece now hangs beautifully on our bedroom wall and we're delighted to wake up to a stunning image everyday thanks to Sam and his wife. We cannot thank Sam and his wife enough for their diligence and passion for their work. We unreservedly would recommend them and do not trust our art with anyone else because we know that it is in great hands and will turn out even beyond our expectations. We look forward to working with this family-owned shop on many projects in the future and are truly lucky to have such a gem in our community!

Fast forward a week and I go to pick it up, and here is where the experience goes downhill. Upon arrival to pick up the frame and painting I noticed a half dollar sized brown smudge in the upper left hand corner. Upon inspection I came to the conclusion that it was possibly poo. I asked the owner who I had been dealing with exclusively what she thought it might be or come from and she became irate and said that had been there the entire time. Excuse me? But I don't think I would have given you a painting my grandmother had made with poo smeared on it. She then decided to curse me out, threaten me and accuse me of trying to get out of paying for the framing. The audacity that I would somehow smear poo on my grandmothers painting to get out of paying for a rather average frame job is insulting. Overall, terrible experience with the lack of respect to others and customer service. I was simply trying to figure out how poo could have possibly gotten on the painting. Thanks for ruining my experience and my painting.
