    Spring Rolls

Stopped in on a weekday during lunch time. The place wasn't very busy when we arrived. They offer both indoor and outdoor seating as weather permits. You place your order at the counter and find a spot to enjoy your meal. The space is hip with K-bop music videos to add to the experience. The restrooms are gender neutral and very clean. I highly recommend the plum iced tea. The perfect amount of plummy sweetness. The mandu are absolutely delicious. Tender dough stuffed full of deliciousness. The spring rolls were equally delicious. For entrees, we went with the traditional fair: chicken katsu, bulgogi, and galbi. The bowls come with both glass noodles and rice with a generous amount of your choice of protein on top. While the noodles are good, I prefer rice over them any day. I'll make note to ask for all rice next time I visit. The katsu was crispy and tender. The bulgogi was tender and full of flavor. I think the galbi was our most favorite. The meat was perfectly seasoned and grilled up to perfection. I felt like we definitely got good value for the price. I added a side of kimchi because that's what one is supposed to do. It was really good with a nice heat and the bite of acid from the fermentation process wasn't overwhelming. All in all a fantastic meal. We can't wait to visit again soon.

Food was good, especially the pot stickers. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. Everyone was pleasant. The seating was good-- very casual style restaurant.

Tried the Galbi Bop Bowl and it was honestly way better than I expected. I loved the japchae (so delicious and flavorful), the generous portion of rice, and the fact that the Galbi was actually on the bone and pretty authentic! It was a bit fattier than I would normally like, but the meat itself was good and there was a lot of it! Also, there is a whole table of sauces that you can add to your bowl, which really boosts the flavor. My favorite was the the katsu sauce. Would definitely come here again!

Food was decent, a little pricey for what it is. I recommend beef bulgogi over the katsu.

I absolutely love K-Bop!!! I have been a huge fan of their food since they only had a food truck and so it's really dope to see them have two brick and mortar locations. I went to the Delmar location and it is such a vibe on the inside. The music was jammin' and I loved the decor on their walls and on the tables. I ordered a Cup Bop and being that I love beef bulgogi, I ordered it in the Beef Bop. I also got two Mandu potstickers as well. Once I added some spicy mayo to the dish-I knew that it was time to chow down lol I ate so good! The food at K-Bop is always so filling and the ingredients are always fresh. The food here is amazing but the hospitality at K-Bop also keeps me coming back. If you haven't tried Korean BBQ yet then you should definitely stop by K-Bop.

This is a gem. I first heard of KBop as a food truck. This is their brick and morter location. The ambiance is welcoming. The decor is lively. Even the table let's you know that you have found KBop. The food is delicious. If you are looking for some Korean food or Asian fusion. Get over to KBop. Service is excellent. They don't have table service. You place your order. They prepare it quickly and bring it to you. Everything is so enjoyable. There's a largescreen TV too. I enjoyed the chicken teriyaki. I couldn't eat it all.

I remember going in the past and the food was fantastic! I missed it and went back recently. The meat was dry and I swear I could have remembered that there were more toppings. I probably won't be back. Service was friendly, food was fast, and great for something quick.

This was a great stop on a street with multiple options. I picked one of the more expensive options, I think it was a special for $14 while everything else was a few dollars cheaper. I will say that this entree was a pretty good size and is well worth the price. There was a little side bar with various condiments to add to your entree and benched tables both inside and out to sit at. It's very casual and a cool spot to catch up with friends, fam, etc. I would recommend it to others.

Notice I've eaten the majority great portion for the spicy Ramen

Service first LARGE GREET at the door explained I never been here she give me the history on how the place came to be and I'm in favor. I ordered the spicy ramen and she was quick to explain this is not like Japanese ramen with all toppings. I decided to try it anyways and even with her clarity that it is simple ramen you can probably make at home it was good also ordered the egg rolls now those were average nothing to send a card about but not bad. I didn't care for the canned soda or water sauce station just because of customers negligence of cleanliness and respect for the next guest. The atmosphere is good vibes. Would eat here again when in town

It's okay. It's like the Panda Express of Korean food. Everything's an up charge. Food is mid and a little pricy but works when you're in a rush.

    Spicy pork bop with gyoza

Pre covid review: Went here when the food truck came close to work one summer and it is definitely some of the best Korean food in St. Louis! The lines were always really long but it was worth it for how amazing the food was. My go to order was the spicy pork bop with gyoza but I tried the beef, chicken, and tofu bop and they were all really good as well! If they are still around make sure to support them!

Very pleasantly surprised by K-Bop! I know they started out with a food truck and now they have a standalone store. I ordered Tteobboki Deluxe which had tteobboki, fish cakes, an egg, beef, and potstickers. The flavor was actually very spot on, I like it a little bit on the spicy side with more Gochujang flavor. I also really appreciated the potstickers which were so good dipped in that rich sauce. Oh and eggs and gochujang may now be my new favorite combination. Highly recommend. Definitely need to come back for more! Should probably try their "cup bop" the next time as this is what they are known for. +1 star for their free k-bop stickers which are so so cute! Not bad for the Loop at all!

The fried squid was well-breaded, light and crispy, but they were a touch tough. Still excellent and the oil was clean. Their burnt ends were fusion perfect! Lots of clean garlic cloves, mild and slightly sweet sauce on a hot stone. Most importantly very tender ends. Finally the house tonkatsu ramen. Wow. This is not the 5 year old mother base, but a mild and delicate creamy beef broth. Balanced rather than deep. The pork is not the danish sheets, but seared silver dollar sized chunks. The noodles were the right texture and firmness. The eggs were shockingly correct, firm all the way to a perfectly runny 2cm cup. Very rare for that kind of attention. Finally service, could not ask for anything better. Attentive but not overwhelming. Polite and thoughtful. And, didn't push the round 2 alcohol like some places.

A Great Hole-in-the-Wall Korean Spot…read more I was really in the mood for Korean food, and as Korean culture has become more mainstream, I've noticed that some Korean restaurants have started to feel a bit commercialized. As someone who cooks Korean food myself and spent time living in Korea, sometimes you just want a simple, authentic, no-frills spot that focuses on the food. Thankfully, Asian Kitchen Korean Cuisine, located at 8423 Olive Blvd., St. Louis, MO, delivered exactly that. I knew I was probably in the right place as soon as I walked in and was greeted by one of the owners, whose direct and no-nonsense personality reminded me of many family-run restaurants I've visited over the years. It gave the place a lot of character. I kept my order simple and went with the beef bulgogi, while my sister ordered the chicken bulgogi. Both came with rice and kimchi. We also shared an order of vegetable potstickers, which were fried perfectly. Everything was delicious. The food had a homemade quality that felt comforting and authentic. The bulgogi was flavorful, the kimchi was satisfying, and the potstickers were easily one of the highlights of the meal. We ordered everything to go, so unfortunately I didn't get any photos, but the food definitely spoke for itself. One thing to keep in mind is that there may be a bit of a wait, but that's because the food is prepared fresh. If you're willing to be patient, it's well worth it. Overall, if you're looking for solid Korean food in the St. Louis area and don't mind a straightforward, family-run atmosphere, Asian Kitchen is a great choice. 4 out of 5 stars.

Despite that, the seafood pancake was crispy and yummy. The fried rice was alright, but it could use a little more seasoning. I was going to get omurice, but it's no longer on the menu so they need to either put it back on the menu or take the photo of that dish down near the entrance. Also, it was very warm and a little humid inside.

There's something incredibly comforting about sitting down to a bubbling hot pot when it's freezing outside. The first time we tried the extra spicy Sichuan broth, and the second time we went with the chicken broth. Mixing the two creates the perfect balance -- rich, flavorful, and just the right level of heat. We've also tried the sliced chicken, shrimp, and fish. My personal favorite combination is cooking the shrimp and cod together with lots of vegetables. The veggies are fantastic -- especially the corn on the cob, chestnuts, and broccoli. Another fun feature is the toppings bar where you can customize your sauces and garnishes. I love adding sesame seeds for extra crunch, along with chili oil, fresh cilantro, and spring onions. And honestly, even just slurping down the soup at the end is a treat in itself. The service is really great. The ambiance is a bit average, but once you're immersed in the whole hot pot experience and enjoying the food, it honestly doesn't matter. Definitely recommend for a cozy, flavorful meal -- especially on a cold night!

TLDR: Good Food, But A Lot of Red Flags…read more I had been wanting to try Shabu Day for a while and finally made it out. The food was honestly really good -- but there is a lot this place needs to fix before I can fully recommend it. The first thing that hit me when I walked in was the smell. And not in a good way. It smelled like a sewer. Not what you want when you are about to sit down and eat. It lingered the entire time we were there and was really hard to get past. The front of the restaurant looks okay at first glance. But once you sit down you start noticing things. The tables are wobbly and clearly rigged up with makeshift fixes. Extension cords are running visibly across the floor which looks bad and feels unsafe. The menus and sauce bottles were sticky -- like they had not been wiped down in a long time. Little things like that add up fast. I caught a glimpse of the back of the house and it looked grimy and dirty. That is a problem at any restaurant, but especially at a place where you are cooking your own food right at the table. The staff were not very welcoming either. They were hard to find when you needed something and did not seem very interested in making sure you were having a good time. Now here is the thing -- the food was actually fresh and delicious. The broth was flavorful and the ingredients were good quality. That part genuinely impressed me. But for the price they are charging? The total package is just not there yet. Good food can only carry a restaurant so far. They need to clean things up -- literally -- before I come back. UPDATE: One more thing worth mentioning that I think is really important. Shabu Day is strictly all you can eat -- and that is the only option they offer. For most people that is fine. But for anyone with a medical condition that limits how much they can eat, this format is a serious problem. You are being charged full all you can eat prices for food you physically cannot consume in that quantity. That is not fair and it is not inclusive. A lot of restaurants in this space offer a la carte or smaller portion options for exactly this reason. Shabu Day should do the same. It is a simple change that would make a big difference for a lot of people and would show that they actually care about all of their customers -- not just the ones who can eat the most. Clean things up, fix the smell, train your staff to be more welcoming, and give people a fair way to order. The foundation is there. Now build on it.
