The dining room is really pretty, and well-appointed! We were seated right away by friendly staff. Looking around, this appeared to be a very family-friendly establishment, as that was, by far, the most prominent type of connoisseur in the house on this evening! Our waitress was wonderful, and helped us with some recommendations upon us letting her know it was our first visit! She checked in with us frequently, and made sure drinks were always refilled promptly! We had a bunch of different items, and all were very good! We tried sushi rolls, beef noodles, and ramen. I'd have to say that the beef noodles probably were the best item for me! Prices were just about as you'd expect: not too high, but not super cheap either...but wholly justified by the great food and lovely service and experience! We dined in here a month or so ago and were the only customers at what you would think is peak dinnertime, 6pm or so. It was a ghost town. And not only that, but the restaurant was ghostly chilly too. Very cold inside, to the point that we switched tables to get to avoid the draft from the vent and commented to the employee about it. The tonkatsu entree is mediocre. The batter on the pork was crispy, but bland. It was $16.99, as was the small order of boneless wings, which come with a tiny side of coleslaw or pickled radish. A side of plain fries is $5.99. On our last pick up order from here too, the chicken strips were soggy and barely had any crunch to it. My husband usually doesn't complain or call back about it, let alone return to the restaurant for a redo of the order, but that evening warranted it.

It was cold, dark and unwelcoming. Red flag because the Chinatown location, which I frequent often. Is ALWAYS busy, with bright lighting and comfortable temperature, no matter what time of day. The cashier/hostess was rather dry and minimally friendly as she told us we could sit anywhere when we told her we were dine-in. I'm immediately turned off by staff who act as if they would rather be anywhere else than their place of employment. But the good thing about most chains is that they have to follow recipes. I fell in love with Bonchon wings (Chinatown location ) a couple of years ago when my daughter introduced me to them. Whether dine-in or take-out, I always had a great experience and was treated well by staff. While the food here was great---soy garlic wings, udon noodle soup, buns and the japchae noodles were just as delicious as Chinatown, the customer service left much to be desired. I'm thinking it could be busier if it were more welcoming. Meh.

The decor is…read morefun and transforms you into a different world during your meal, service is quick and friendly, prices are surprisingly reasonable the amount and quality of food you're getting, flavors are on point (and on the healthier side of cooking for this style), and presentation is great. The other struggle will be with parking as this place is generally very packed during dinner hours. After several visits here, I've decided that the best way to order is to get large dishes to share with others. While, individual size servings are great -- there is a ton of spots nearby great for 1-2 people, but this spot does offer some nicely presented large dishes like bossam which are great for serving. I also find the seafood pancake to be a generous size with plenty of seafood and a nice crisp edge. These are definitely prepared with minimal seasoning, relying instead on an assortment of sauces to infuse the food with flavor. The bulgogi similarly, is tender and presented with lots of cabbage, more of a cold day comfort food instead of a seared version with thick sauce as you may find in other nearby locations. Definitely aim for some spicy dishes like the spicy pork bbq with mozzarella cheese if you're coming here, as the spicy options are on a different level of flavor and depth (similar to most Asian food you'll find in the area). Again, the meat is prepared very tender with an explosion of flavor. Overall, excellent food with excellent presentation and surprisingly affordable pricing. Probably one of the best values you'll find from a Yelp Top 100 US restaurant.

Finally, I decided to go with 1/2 fried chicken (8 pieces) since I hadn't had it before. The small order of wings also comes with eight pieces and is a couple of dollars less than the 1/2 fried chicken. The food was freshly prepared. The chicken was hot when it came out. My wife got a lunch special of 8 pieces boneless wings in honey garlic sauce which came with fries and a soft drink. I got my 1/2 fried chicken in Spicy Galbi sauce. My chicken was very flavorful. The sauce had a nice taste. It was a bit sweet, a bit savory, and a light kick of heat. One thing different with having this 1/2 fried chicken from the wings I had at a different bb.q Chicken was that the 1/2 fried chicken pieces were not as meaty as the wings. The boneless wings flavor was good as well. The food hit the spot. The service was satisfactory. Next time, I'll go back to having wings.

I understand that we live in a time where American gen z gets offended by everything. Some of the reviews are just plain dumb, they didn't even eat anything or they walked in and walked out. This review is from someone that actually experienced it. We came on a Saturday night around 7:40 pm. There were only a few occupied tables. Two large groups and one couple. The ambiance was laidback with good music. It was only loud because the two large tables were laughing annoyingly, loud. The young Asian table drank one sip of beer and all of a sudden, their laughter echoed throughout the whole place. I'm Asian myself but I can hold my alcohol. The parking lot is shared since it's in a strip mall. To clarify, we did have to wait 50 mins before we started receiving our food. I believe Jun was the only chef and he made everything from scratch. He finished serving the other tables before he got to our order. FYI, Jun said the prices haven't been updated on the printed menus. I would say 4.5 out of 5 is good. I only took off half a point because the two large tables' laughter were cringy and vexing. We ordered bulgogi tacos, o-deng tahng (fishcake soup), garlic chicken wings, and sweet potato fries. -bulgogi tacos 5 - it says 3 on the menu but you actually get 4. Each taco is packed with the same amount of meat as the others. The chips and the housemade salsa are good too. -o-deng tahng 5 - the fishcake soup is so colorful and the broth has a mildly spicy flavor. This can be shared between 2-3 people. Highly recommended. -garlic chicken wings 5 - they are much larger than what you see in the picture. They are very meaty and I like that you can actually smell/taste the garlic. -sweet potato fries 5 - I loved how small and skinny they are, yet they are mighty in flavor. The seasoning was just right.

The atmosphere here is definitely unique, unlike most restaurants, and even bars in the suburbs. Definitely great if you're someone who is into sports, comic books, and also likes to discover hidden gems. Service here is best described as prompt but sassy, but also something that can't be accurately described (in a good way) and just needs to be experienced in person. I'm not exactly sure if there's a menu, as the regulars seem to already know what to order - but this is something that can be researched online and is both bolder in flavor and more interesting than what you can typically find in a bar, or Korean restaurant. Kind of a fusion between familiar and tasty American bar food -- but with Korean influences to elevate the flavors. All the food I tried here shined both in texture and flavor. The seafood pancake had a great crisp on the outside and generous amounts of seafood inside. It was packed with tasty herbs and a slightly chewy texture that was still fantastic after I reheated it the next day. The Korean fried chicken used large wings and drumsticks, which really helped to provide more tender and moist meat than some local competitors. This was super crispy, possibly more crispy than similar options at Bonchon and CM chicken. A small warning for the spicy options, as this is a higher spiciness level than what many people may be used to with fried chicken. The kimchi fried rice has a great mix of egg, kimchi, and seasonings that create a delicious dish even for those who may not particularly care for the flavor profile of kimchi. Putting the flame torch to the egg and rice adds a good smokiness to the dish, and the mix of onion and egg really adds a lot of umami to the dish. Overall, this is a unique dining experience and worth a visit as the food is flavorful, inexpensive, and well executed. Especially worth a visit for anyone who likes bar food but wants something a bit higher quality and packed with flavors -- this is definitely not the menu you'd find at a traditional Korean spot.
