In town for work. Common recommendation is the solid Middle Eastern food scene…read more Saw this place on Yelp and decided to give it a try. There's a parking garage in the rear and plenty of spots. I did enter through the rear of the establishment since I parked there. The menu is pretty extensive. Ended up getting the half order of hummus. A basket of warm pita and two sauces came out. I initially thought that was the pita. This was complimentary I believe. The garlic sauce is solid. The other one is a spicy sauce of some sort. This spicy one was super good. The hummus came out. Very smooth and flavorful. For my entree, I got the Shish Kafta. You can choose between lamb or chicken. I went with the chicken with a side of rice and my choice of soup or salad. I opted for the lentil soup. That came out piping hot. This was delicious. Flavorful and good texture. My entree came out and wow. The portion is way more than what you pay for. Came with 4 very huge blocks of chicken kefta. Nicely seasoned and grilled to perfection. Had a nice char on the outside, but still juicy on the inside. I used the two sauces from earlier to give it an extra kick. I washed it all down with a mint lemonade. This was absolutely refreshing. Clean place, very good food and the customer service was solid.

One guy seated at a booth on the phone and two ladies with their suitcase at another booth. Other than the 3 people, place was empty. Ordered carry out. crushed lentil bowl, chicken kafta, two sides: small hummus, small baba ghanouj, large fattoush salad with no pita. $38.13 Food takes about 15 minutes to be ready. Drove all the way back to the office. My chicken kafta looks to be lamb, not at all what I ordered. My large fattoush is covered in pita chips. Had to spend several minutes getting every pita chip out of the salad. It's good I am not allergic to gluten. They shove the dressing packet in the corner of the salad, so you get a bit less, that and the pita chips. Other than that, the salad was fine. I am quite disappointed the order is not right! The crushed lentil soup has a lot of rice in it, which is just filler to me. Has some clumps of something, may be rice and starch? It's too inconvenient to drive all the way back. Do be sure to check your carry out order before you leave the place. The crushed lentil is quite bland, not much flavor to it. Tastes some fennel, quite a few clumps of starch. The soup is more rice than lentil. I could count on one hand how many traces of lentil was in my bowl of soup. What in the world? My husband ate the lamb kafta, since I don't eat red meat. He said it was so-so, but rather dry.

Sahara is another top option with a more casual sit-down space. The fattoush was absolutely fantastic at a 9.5/10, and the hummus was also amazing but on par with other local options. As for the kabobs and what not, they were all solid with the best being the tender pieces of the chicken tawook at a 9.7/10. What you get here is incredible value for the sheer amount of food you get and will definetely have leftovers. Overall, I would rate this place at a 9.7/10, subject to change as I explore more Dearborn Lebanese spots.

It's a goal of mine to visit as many spots in Dearborn as possible. This may take awhile, as I live out of state and only come back twice a year, at best. Sahara is just 'ok.' Yes, the food is plentiful and the price is decent, but the food is average. Spend a few extra dollars and go elsewhere. My favorite part was the bread, which was made in house. The fattoush salad was also delicious. My lunch combo leftovers are probably going to wind up tossed... My mom had a veggie dish with undercooked carrots. She found the lentil soup to be missing flavor. Service was fine and there are some tables. A lot of their business seems to be carry out and catering.

They start you with a fluffly pita style bread that you dip in a garlic aoili butter or red sauce then a house salad. Loved the fresh and citric flavors in the salad. Almond rice that was spectacular because it mixed with the sauce from the meat. Reminded me of home cooking. Served with veggies such as squash, carrots and peppers. Our waitress was LV, she was super nice and energetic and gave us refills of soda throughout the meal. Oh before I forgot, there is no beer or alcohol here, free parking, right next to a strip club

The owners are incredibly kind and make you feel appreciated as a customer, which really stands out. The food is pretty good overall, with solid Middle Eastern flavors and generous portions. One small thing I've noticed is that occasionally the bread comes out a bit cold, but it's a minor issue and hasn't taken away from the overall experience. Between the warm hospitality and consistently good food, LaPita is definitely a spot worth stopping by when you're in Dearborn.

They started us off with complimentary plain bread, which felt a bit basic without even a touch of garlic or flavoring. The place didn't have a dedicated drinks menu, but the server mentioned she could make anything we wanted, which sounded promising. However, the drinks didn't quite live up to expectations. The margaritas ($12) were quite diluted, and the $7 mocktails were underwhelming. For food, we ordered the Chicken Kabob Dinner, Shawarma Platter, and Spicy Man-Usha. Both the Chicken Kabob Dinner and Shawarma Platter came with two sides : we chose fattoush salad, Greek salad, and grilled vegetables. The grilled vegetables were done really well, and the shawarma platter was enjoyable. However, the chicken kabob was disappointingly dry, and the Spicy Man-Usha, despite sounding exciting, turned out quite bland. Overall, it was an okay experience, pleasant enough for a casual visit, but not something that would make us go out of our way to return.
