Somehow water was leaking into my living room near the window. Hector found there were holes previously drilled outside that were properly plugged by the previous owner. He filled it in and then also along the area above the window. I was invited to go up the ladder to spot check and request any areas I wanted to go over or add more sealant after he was done. My wall may have some damage and I asked if he would be able to do that later, since I imagine we would need a structural engineer and that it would be a bigger project. We hired K&A Drywall to repaint the interior of our home. I reach out via Yelp and Edgar responded within a day. Within a few days he came by to take a look at the the place and was able to give us a quote and also work with our budget. They were also able to work within our schedule as well. The project we hired Edgar for was to do the following: - Repair ceiling drywall damage after we had scraped off acoustic texture - spread new joint compound - Sand down the ceilings to prepare them for painting - Apply knockdown texture I don't know anything about drywall so when I hired a contractor to paint over the work Edgar did, the following feedback was shared with Edgar about his work: - ceiling was not properly repaired, there is still visible damage that was not repaired - Joint compound was not properly spread, there visible mesh tape that was not covered - ceiling vents were not removed when Edgar worked on the ceiling and old texture under vents The following was additional feedback I shared with Edgar on issues I identified: - Electrical boxes for my ceiling lights were not properly covered and Edgar's team ended up shooting knockdown texture over the electrical boxes - job site was not properly cleaned, Edgar left a full bucket of texture and his tools behind - A/C vent was not properly covered and was also over sprayed with knockdown texture Edgar was contacted about all the issues above and his response was the same, that he did not have time to come out and address them. When I asked him if he can share a date that worked for him, he said he could not. When I asked him for a solution to this issues the contractor identified he said he would get back to me. I proceeded to offer 2 solutions, make time to fix the issues or provide a partial refund. Edgar stopped responding to me after that message. We learned a valuable lesson here, always hire someone with many years of experience if you want professional quality work. I needed someone to power wash the house prior to having a garage door installed and the trim work repainted. The company that I originally hired called to say they had a scheduling conflict so I contacted Edgar at C&E. His price was high, but he could do it when I needed it done. However, he never gave me a detailed quote or itemization on what they would be doing; and as the work progressed he kept telling me each thing was going to cost me additional monies. When they were done they left the premises in complete disarray, I am 82 and had to move plants back, and mats back and clean up the mess from the power washing. I feel they did not do what I had hired them to do, and Edgar did no work just sort of watched the gentleman who did the work and collect money.
