I have been going to Amber Ortiz at KA Hair for awhile. I would have posted a review had I known the salon was on yelp sooner than now. Amber Ortiz makes me feel like I am the only one in the salon. Amber listens to what my goal is for my new look (color, or cut). I'm always going back and forth on color and she is so patient with me. Bless her heart. My hair has been (jeannie in a bottle) black for years, I spoke with Amber about taking baby steps to going back to my natural color (blonde). She consulted with me about how we would start, and made sure I understood that because my hair had been black so long (8 years), she would lift out the black as far as she could, yet not long enough to damage (fry) my hair. She was able to lift out the black to where she could put in a beautiful brown. My hair had no breakage nor does it feel dry after all the lifting chemicals. Thank you Amber!! Amber will be honest with you and will talk with you about the plus and minuses to what your looking for. She wants to make sure that Her clients know all the facts before she begins on their hair. She allowed me to make the final decision after explaining to me the pros and cons of what we would need to do to get to my goal. I have had stylist tell me in the past before I found Amber, that once you go black, its always hard to back to a lighter color. It is not impossible (I don't think it's impossible anyway). I think it just means there is allot of steps that need to take place, but eventually I believe with patience and time, and Amber's help, I will be back to my natural color. I personally want to know what all my options are to reach my perfect color and or cut. Amber gives that to me. I highly recommend Amber for all your color needs and cuts. Karen has been doing my hair for years before K|A became an established business. Whether I show her a picture of what I have in mind, or simply describe the style I would like, she gets it right every time. I don't like light her, yet she is able to make my hair look fashionable and trendy in the warmer spectrum of colors with brown balayages and most recently the perfect winter bronde (not a typo). When I see the work she has done with her other clients I feel confident of referring my own friends her way. Couple months ago I referred my sister-in-law and she drove all the way from California for a silver color correction. She is very knowlegable in basics and qay beyond with emphasis on new trends. She keeps up with the world of cosmetology. On my 1st appt counseled me on how to get my hair back in shape. Attention blondesssss::::: Where do I even begin?! Amber has a magic touch when it comes to my hair. I have thin hair and alot of it and I've never been able to get my hair just right. One's experience at a salon mainly depends on the stylist. Karen is great at what she does! I have had cuts at a few other places and after having her cut and dye my hair, I'm not going anywhere else. I just love Amber! She's very easy to schedule with, and responds to messages very quickly. She takes pride in her work, so she takes her time and pays attention to detail. I've had hairstylists that double/triple book appointments, so I wasn't getting their full attention and focus, and ended up with a hairdo that wasn't what I wanted.
