I have been in many shops on the east side over the years- where there seem to have been a lot more of them- and one thing I really like about this place is not only is the staff knowledgeable and friendly, but I've never been stuck waiting here very long. I've been in shops where I have had to wait 15-30 minutes with a question or ask them to retrieve live stock while they were helping other customers, and that just really never seems to happen here for whatever the reason. While I am fairly knowledgeable with the mechanics of maintaining a marine habitat, I am bad with names of corals, and sometimes resort to trying to physically describe my livestock when asking questions to establish what it is I already own, which I am sure must be annoying. I've never been made to feel stupid or foolish, and I always get an honest effort from them to provide me with an answer. Another thing I like that I discovered through making small talk with the staff, is that most of them have other jobs and are simply hobbyists taking a part-time job because they truly enjoy the activity and like helping people. I don't price shop them much, but the prices on what they have here can vary depending on specials (obviously) but also in terms of what they are looking to move out. So don't be too disappointed if the coral you bought there is 10-20 bucks cheaper than what you paid a month ago for a similar coral, probably because they now have 5 of them now. You might be able find cheaper, but I don't think they are unnecessarily expensive if at all. Even if they were a bit more, this is a local business that's worth supporting. As others have noted, they really don't have a lot of tanks for sell or tons of accessories but are good about carrying the most common things. If you're looking to browse hardware, this is generally not your place. They simply don't have the room. And now that I think about it, none of the shops I used to go were doing as much of that anymore, they probably can't compete with online pricing or the chains well enough to justify the space and inventory Speaking of room, I have to agree with someone else who stated they do pretty well with the space they have. It's not all that big. Thus, the selection isn't biggest I've seen, but they have some interesting marine corals and livestock that I still find myself wanting to check in to see what they have. In the past, I've tried to spread my money around when it comes to fish shops in the area, but as far as I know, they don't have much competition in the area, when it comes to salt water items, anyway. And after coming here a year and having almost entirely good things to say, I guess there is a reason for that.

I mean, this place has top notch service!! This the best dog grooming place in SE MI. I have lived in the east suburbs, Ann Arbor burbs, and the west suburbs. I have tried many a grooming place out of convenience and I continue to make the trip to Elite because they are just THAT special. Everywhere else I go you get far less for your money. They also have special information cards for each dog that comes there so you basically just have to drop off your dog for the usual and they know exactly what to do. You can tell the place is amazing because when you call for an appointment, they are usually booked up weeks in advance. Take your pets here for their grooming- you seriously won't be sorry. Also, the prices here cannot be beaten either. Best of both worlds!!!

Got call back on July 10th and they left a message advising they set appointment for a Thursday. Called back to advise I can't do a week day as I can't take a day off work to take dogs to groomer. Was told next Saturday appointment was on August 21st.. as I was saying that was too long to wait was hung up on... called back to speak to owner and was told she wasn't there.. left message and finally heard back on 7/15, 5 days later..
