I went back to the store and spoke with the manager, who told me to call headquarters. Headquarters was no help either. The store employee even remembered the entire transaction, yet no one was willing or able to correct the refund. It's frustrating that neither the store nor corporate support would resolve such a small issue. Customer service should matter more than losing a customer over $29. I'll be taking my business elsewhere where returns and customer concerns are handled properly.

Immediately after entering the store I was assaulted with the pungent odor of feces, urine, and a chemical smell I can only describe as ammonia. Genuinely the smell made me nauseous and I still cannot put my finger on the exact cause of the odor. I had seen a previous review by a pregnant woman and disregarded it, thinking maybe it was just a sensitivity due to pregnancy. No, this place smells like absolute death. It stuck to my hair, my clothes, and all the items I purchased. I bought $200 worth of items for a snake tank, all of which were soaked with the odor. I attempted to hose the items down, sprayed them with heavy chemicals, and let them air outside for 4 days. The smell stuck to everything despite the intense chemical treatments and my hardest efforts. My receipt let me know everything was final sale and nonrefundable, something I wish I would have been told prior to purchasing. However, I did call the store to tell them I cannot use the items. I was told I would not get a refund, but I said I would like to return them anyways, otherwise I would just throw everything away which felt wasteful. They were understanding and sweet, giving me a $50-$75 store credit and a sealed bag of bedding for my troubles. Although the bag itself smelled, thankfully the bedding was not penetrated by the odor due to being completely airtight and sealed. I don't think I will be returning to use the store credit but I'm grateful for the efforts made my the staff. I did appreciate that and I know it is not the worker's fault. I feel absolutely horrible for the employees working in these conditions. On both occasions of visiting (initial purchase and returning the items) all of the employees I spoke to were so kind and helpful to me - that is the ONLY reason I give this place 2 stars. I would seriously never recommend this establishment to anyone I liked.

Turns out that we severely underestimated the maintenance that the fish we wanted required. (So... you're telling me that I have to regulate temperature, water pH levels, while running the bubbles and cleaning the tank? I'll stick to the shedding!) So I guess this review is here for the simple fact that they have an awesome selection, and a very helpful staff. If we were to have purchased some of the fish we liked there, I have no doubt that I would've had a great deal of support from Oceans and Seas in keeping them healthy and happy in our home.

On June 6th my workers & I started to move the mix into the gardens. As we were doing this we started to find debris. Pieces of carpet, glass, rubber, broken concrete & plastic. Also large sticks medium size rocks & lumps that were not clay that couldn't be broken up. I took 2 buckets of these materials to Bestes & showed them to the staff. The owner was contacted & I was told this is what I get in a garden mix! I was led to believe that it should have been compost manure & dirt. Instead I have a product that has no manure fill dirt & compost material so large I have to remove it. I paid $35.00 a yard for this. They refuse to replace it & told me I can buy manure, they sell it by the bag. I was also told they have no idea what I did to it after it sat covered in my drive for 3 days. The staff is very knowledgeable and friendly but as for the owner, he hasn't owned the business for very long & has changed the quality of the product. They get a 0 stars for product & a 4 for the staff. I won't shop here again
