Last week and this week I had a very frustrating experience at the Pep Boys in Exton, PA (Store…read more0158), and I want to share this as a cautionary note for others scheduling services here. I ordered tires online and had them delivered to this location, along with an oil change. Unfortunately, they didn't place an oil-change reminder sticker on my car, claiming they had run out. Then, I scheduled a vehicle inspection for 9:00 a.m 10/7 and rearranged my work schedule (I'm a nurse, so this was not easy). At the last minute, I was told the inspector called out and I'd need to come back the following day. I was promised a small discount and rescheduled again. When I showed up this morning, they had no record of my appointment and no emissions stickers available. The staff was unprofessional and unsympathetic. Overall, this location's communication and customer service were very disappointing. If you plan to use this Pep Boys, I'd strongly recommend double-checking your appointment and having a backup plan. Currently I am driving around with outdated inspection stickers but plan on finding another place today.

Dropped my van off for inspection knowing it was going to need suspension work because of a rattle…read morethat started in the front about 6 months back and tires needed replacing....They called me back in a few hours and said the bracket on one of the struts was compromised But it was not bad enough to fail inspection And my tires would pass but probably not last until the next inspection....Love their Honesty and the fact that they did not rush to sell me parts... I had them do All the work anyway which they did in a timely manner Over the Labor day weekend ...Also a strut Rod broke upon them removing it and they put on a new one Free of charge....Super happy with their work and the rattle is gone and I should have No problems in the snow this coming season...Highly Recommend!!!!

I am amending a recent review that I left. I left McLean's in great stress and went to a different…read moreplace and was told some very bad things. I chose to believe them. Big mistake. I've been going to McLean since he opened and I loved going there and all his staff. They've never failed me. So I'm taking back the bad rating I left and I'm apologizing. And I'm telling you people that McClain is the way to go. He is thorough and he's amazing

Short story is that I paid $160 for a diagnosis, the "Sales Adviser" (how about "service" rather…read morethan "sales") recommended something for $2k that was unnecessary - no thanks - problem not resolved, and wanted another $100 for further diagnosis - no thanks. The long story is engine misfiring, paid $160 for diagnosis. Kink in the vacuum hose (couldn't have taken too long to spot), but "Sales Advisor" recommends I also replace all ignition coils for $2k. What? Huh? Are they bad? They don't know, they only checked one of them and it was fine, but what's $2k, right? No thanks, I'll pass on that "sale". Replaced vacuum hose for another $300. But one cylinder is still misfiring. They want another $100 for further diagnosis. I expected that the $160 (not a cheap diagnosis price) would cover a full diagnosis, not a first pass diagnosis. I declined. I'd rather take my car to a place that does what is agreed upon and doesn't have a "Sales Adviser" who tries to sell me unnecessary things.
