We've been living in West Philly since 2010. These guys have fixed at least a dozen flats for us - incredibly fast, incredibly efficient, incredibly good repairs. Whenever we've got a puncture (thanks, West Philly) they hook us up with a fill or patch that lasts the life of the tire. Hell, I think our old car had a tire with CDM patches in 2 different spots... And when it's worse, the price of a replacement tire is always reasonable. (Usually, a patch is $15 and you're in and out in 5 minutes.) I'm writing today because I was looking online at for new tires for a car we inherited, and I thought "Why do that? Why not hit up the team on 42nd and Lancaster and see how they can do?" Well, the price was perfect - completely competitive with anything I saw online, and the service was pit-crew fast - they had the wheels off, old tires off, new tires on, filled, balanced, mounted, and ready to go in 20 minutes. And, you know what? I wasted a few hours "learning" (online from a few sources) about how to specify new tires, comparison shopping, blah blah blah. What's great about these guys is that they're not going to play you. You don't need to get your degree in tire repair or Make and Model matching - THEY know this stuff. They're going to tell you if your tire can be fixed, and hook you up with the right new OR lightly used tire if it can't. Because they're in the neighborhood, and they know you'll come back if there's anything wrong. This is a fantastic, local, black-owned business, and they deserve all the flowers. I was driving around with a messed up tire for over two months. I was consistently putting air in my tire all while dreading the idea of having to get a new tire. I had a small conversation with my dad and he recommended CDM tires. Once I arrived, I was greeted by this young kid who was friendly and personable. I told him what was going on with my tire and he jacked my car up, looked at the tire and told me it had a nail in it. Then he put air in the tire plugged it up all for 15.00. Service was quick and fast. I ended up giving him a 10.00 tip for the wonderful service and affordable prices. My dad has two plugged tires and he along with the young kid said the plugged tires can last a long time. Called them Friday morning to ask for a quote to patch my tire. Gentleman on the phone asked for my car's year, make & model. Told him my tire has a nail or a screw or whatevaaa. He said I need a plug. $15-20 & out in 15mins. No appointment needed. I pulled up later on, mid day maybe. One person ahead of me, waited like 5min. Service was amazing. They're nice, fast & efficient! Plug job ended up being $15. Gave him $20, said keep the change :) the man in charge gave change & handed tip directly to the man that did the job. Today was my third visit (over the years) to this shop for a tire. The first time I had a flat I was calling around and finding extremely high prices and wait times on service. A friend directed me here and I haven't gone anywhere else since. During my second visit, I came for a new tire but the mechanic told me I didn't need one and my tire could easily be patched, which saved me money. He even checked the air in my other tires and adjusted the air pressure. I blew my tire last week and went in today to get a new one. I pulled up, told them what I needed, they assisted me and within 15 minutes I was driving away. Any time I have a tire need, this is where I come. They are quick, professional and reliable and their prices are reasonable. (I usually tip because I am appreciative of their good business and quick, efficient service). Found these guys and the great reviews they received so gave them a call. Explained the situation and they came running with a tow truck. He asked about the vehicle and said that the condition of the vehicle and the very low mileage was enough to sell it. He even told me how to sell it (meet at a Police Station, etc) and how to prepare the receipt. I pulled in at 8:30 with what I thought was a slow leak in my tire. One of the guys spotted a nail right away. They jacked my car up and got to work. I pulled out at 8:38. TL;DR: If you need help with your tires or rims, just come here. I highly recommend Clarence and his crew. My brother-in-law had a flat and his spare had a flat, too. After trying the spare and failing, I looked up the closest place to the hospital (had a family member there) and saw CDM. I thought I needed new tires and took it to Clarence. I drove in, spoke with Clarence, he tested both wheels and determined that the rims were the problem and the tires were fine. A bend on both rims was causing the leaks. Before I had a chance to whine about getting new rims, Clarence fired up his torched, brought out his hammer, and bent the rims into shape. He tested them, cooled them, put the tires on, and put them back on the car. I was there between 10 and 15 minutes. One rim would've been $1100. Two would've been a nightmare. Clarence charged me a way cheaper and reasonable price for his time and his 25+ years of experience. Easy decision. Would come again and again. Tip him and his team--they're good. On my way out a guy brought his car with the tire falling off the rim. Clarence and his team just got to it and fixed it while I was paying. So awesome. read more
